Dr. Alyson Buchalter is a graduate of the University Of Pennsylvania School Of Dental Medicine. Her formal dental education continued at Michael Reese Hospital in Chicago. Upon completing her residency program she joined her fathers dental practice in Gravesend, Brooklyn where she has enjoyed practicing for over 25 years.
Dr. Buchalter is highly regardedby her peers and patients alikefor her extensive knowledge, advanced technical skills and her very gentle touch. She is an active member of the American Dental Association, New York State Dental Association and the 2019 President of the Second District Dental Society. She lead the Downtown Dental Study Group as their president and education chair for 10 years. And, for over 20 years she was an attending dentist (teacher) at Long Island College Hospital and at the Cobble Hill Health Center where she enjoyed sharing her knowledge and experience with the next generation of young dentists.
With a wide range of special interests and expertise, Dr. Buchalter provides full-mouth dental care to her patients. Throughout her career Dr. Buchalter has continued her training via many continuing dental education classes, ensuring that her patients receive the most comprehensive and up to date dental care. She has completed numerous advanced study programs in fields such as dental implants, dental aesthetics, Invisalign and ClearCorrect orthodontics, conscious sedation/nitrous oxide, endodontics, smile design, crowns, bridges and periodontal therapy. Dr. Buchalter has lectured on a variety of topics for various local dental societies and national dental conventions.

For this reason, our office meets and surpasses all OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) and CDC (Center for Disease Control) standards. We use the latest digital x-ray technology with the lowest radiation settings. Financial Dr. Buchalter participates with a variety of dental insurance carriers including Metlife, Aetna, Guardian, Cigna, Delta Dental, ILA, Blue Cross and others. We will be more than happy to submit all insurance forms for you and help you recover the most from your benefits.
We will do everything we can to help you afford the treatment you need and want. For patients who require major work, a complete payment plan is designed with an appropriate payment schedule. Forms of payment accepted by the office are check, cash, major credit card, and CareCredit.

Dr. Buchalter is a fabulous dentist, she is very good at what she does, she is fair, knowledgeable and kind. After may years of neglecting my teeth and having a fear of going to the dentist, she was able to calm my nerves and reassure me. She has taken care of me for over 15 years, and I am a loyal patient.

I have been a patient for a few years now but I wish I had switched to Dr. Buchalter sooner. Great attention to detail and is able to educate and explain technical information in an easy to understand manner. You know you are in good hands when you learn things about your bone structure that you had no clue about. Highly recommend!!

You can go to a fear-mongering dentist who will recommend you work on teeth that don't need repair, or you can see Dr. Buchalter and preserve what you've got. Dr. Buchalter is highly conservative when it comes to you keeping your teeth. She does not rush into unnecessary procedures and she educates along the way. There aren't many dentists like Dr. Buchalter anymore. I find great value in having her as my dentist.

Love Dr Buchalter. She has so much consideration and precision. I just can't thank her enough for taking care of my teeth. She never will tell you that you need more work than you actually need. She explains EVERYTHING and answers all questions. I appreciate her as I'm so scared of dentists. Love her.

My insurance covers 2 cleanings a year and accepted about $85 for each cleaning. I decided to get 3 cleanings a year and pay for it myself. Instead of give me a break or at least charge me the same as the insurance company, she billed me $48 EXTRA above and beyond the $85...Even after sending my wife and recommending a friend over to her. Place is old and outdated sometimes even dirty. She herself is also not the freshest daisy in the boutique.

Dr. Buchalter has been our family dentist for 15+ years and we are very happy with her fine work and professionalism. She ALWAYS makes one aware of our prognosis by speaking & showing in laymans words what the issues are. Following up with a later phone call is a "perfect touch". Also extremely timely on appoinment times. Very informative and friendly. Would ABSOLUTELY RECOMMEND !!!iysearcsesearchi g

After many years of having expensive and extensive dental work done by Manhattan Dentists who seemed to always find the need for me to have more work done, I decided to find a dentist closer to home. I was fortunate to find Dr. Buchalter who was referred to me by a retired dentist I know. From the start, I found her to be honest, sincere and extremely knowledgeable in her field. I have been a patient of Dr. Buchalter for approximately 10 years. I was referred to her by a friend who was a retired dentist and her patient. Needless to say, she is a "dentist's" dentist.
