Dr. Alpa Merchant received her DDS degree at The University of Texas,Houston in 1996. After graduation, she briefly practiced in Lake Jackson TX for about 6 months before relocating to Tucson in early 1997 after meeting her husband. She has been practicing dentistry in Tucson since.
Dr. Merchant believes that educating her patients regarding their dental health is a top priority. Each patient is given her undivided attention at every visit, with in-depth conversation to understand their concerns regarding their treatment options, whether it be for restorative or cosmetic dental care.
Her hobbies include cycling, swimming, running, cooking and reading. Dr. Merchant and her husband have hiked in many beautiful parts of the world. She visits family in India and other parts of the US frequently.
My name is Stephanie, I am the dental hygienist at the office. I have been a dental hygienist since 2012.I love my job because I get to interact with my patients and try to make them feel as comfortable as possible while they are in my chair.
I did not take great care of my teeth as a child so I can relate to patients who have to receive a lot of dental treatment. The best feeling is when I can make somebody feel confident about their smile and their oral health. This office is the perfect fit for me because we are all honest and always put the patients first.
When I am not working I enjoy spending time with my husband and my dog. I am a huge Disney fan and I will try to go to a Disney theme park as often as possible. I enjoy baking almost as much as I enjoy eating what I bake and I love to make decorations and crafts.

Hello, my name is Katelyn and I am a dental assistant. I have been in the dental field full time for 10 years. Initially I got into dentistry because of my mother. She is also a dental assistant and after my sport 's practices I would walk to her office and help out. During college I continued to assist in the dental office during my breaks. After I graduated with my bachelors I was offered a full time job as an assistant. Instead of taking on master 's loans I said, 'yes' and have stayed in dentistry ever since!
In 2014 I moved to Arizona from Chicago. Both my husband and I were born and raised in Illinois. However, our passion for football varies greatly as I am a Green Bay Packers fan and he is a Chicago Bears fan. Talk about a divided household during football season! In our free time we like to travel, run, hike, and play with our rescue pup Harley.
My name isDesiree. I started my career as a dental assistant with Dr. Merchant in 2014. I know that for many individuals going to the dentist can be a scary experience, I like to help make that anxiety and fear go away by talking to our patients, answering any questions they may have and explaining the procedure that they are there for and what they can expect before Dr. Merchant begins treatment.

These days it's pretty common to go to a doctors or dentist office and be treated badly or even worse, ignored. Not here. Not only are you recognized when you come in the door, but your treated with respect and kindness. Dr. Merchant and her team are second to none. Very caring and attentive to your need's.

Dr. Merchant and her staff have provided fantastic dentistry for myself and my entire family (ages 16-83). She stays on the cutting edge of technology and methodologies, and everyone of her staff is outstanding. But that is not what I am writing about. I wanted to take the time to write about sleep health. I'd been diagnosed with sleep apnea and struggled with aspects of this for years. I had been put on a CPAP and had a sleep specialist work with me, and yet was still not sleeping more than 5 hours a night and was chronically exhausted. They My entire life was negatively affected, and I had frankly given up hope. Dr. Merchant worked with me, and it's been the best decision I could have made. In the two weeks I've been using the new therapy, I've slept better than I have in the last decade! I have felt rested for the first time in years, and I'm more alert at work, my memory has improved, and I have renewed energy. Sleep health is such a core of overall health and wellbeing and Dr. Merchant has provided the help I needed. I cannot express my gratefullness enough, and highly recommend her to anyone.

Dr. Merchant and her team exceeded all of my expectations. I was desperate to get more information and solutions after being diagnosed with sleep apnea. My primary care doctor has been very hands off after my sleep apnea diagnosis. I was given a CPAP machine and sent on my way. I have struggled to tolerate my CPAP machine and became desperate to find alternative solutions to this condition. Dr. Merchant was exactly what I was looking for. She was so thorough in helping me understand my options moving forward. I am so grateful that I found her.

I Highly recommend my new hi-tech dentist with superior state-of-the-art equipment! Dr. Alpa Merchant and her staff are outstanding! Dr. Merchant has been practicing dentistry in Tucson for 20+ years Dr.. Merchant uses cutting edge technology. She uses Infrared Scan Photography that can detect decay early. After my first visit, she let me know there were some old fillings in need of repair. I was pleased to learn entire fillings did NOT have to be replaced. She could save a good majority of the filling and just repair the portion that needed repair. That saved me PAIN and cost. The reason I changed dentist in the first place was because the front office person at my old dentist, Kathi, changed to Dr. Merchant's office. There is no administrator more efficient than Kathi! When it comes to filing insurance paperwork, I never have to deal with insurance on my day off. Dental Assistant Desiree is professional, patient, and safety conscious--explaining everything as she goes. Stephanie, the hygienist is uber gentle when cleaning your teeth. Dr. Merchant's entire staff is the best! My husband and I have lived in Tucson for 15 years now. This is my fourth dentist (I am very picky) and I'm happy to have finally found my dream dentist in Dr Alpa Merchant!

I just recently changed dentists to Dr. Merchant. I am very impressed and thankful I finally found a dentist that is pleasant, thorough, honest , caring and professional. She explains things thoroughly before any work that needs done and even during the procedure. She'll answer any questions you have at any time. My initial exam and cleaning was the most thorough I've ever had. I am 66 yrs old and have moved around a lot, so I have seen a number of dentists over the years. The office staff is just as wonderful. At the front desk you'll find Kathi, a very pleasant and efficient greeter as you enter and will professionally check you in and handle any insurance issues you may have. She has a "black belt" when it comes to dealing with insurance companies. Stephanie is the hygienist. She does a very thorough and comfortable cleaning. I enjoyed chatting with her while there. Dulce and Desiree are Dr. Merchants assistants, and they are just as pleasant as the rest of the staff. Going to the dentist is far from my favorite thing to do, but with Dr. Merchant and her wonderful staff it will be a more pleasant experience than I have had in the past.

Dr. Merchant's office is A OK in my book. Everyone was very professional, efficient, courteous and all around pleasant. The offices are clean, well lit, well equipped and even nicely decorated. All covid protocol is respected and followed. My dental appointments have been quite satisfying.

I recently got my teeth cleaned with Dr. Merchant. The experience was great! This was the most thorough dental visit I've ever had. The office manager, Kathi, was very efficient and kind to work with, both in setting up my initial appointment and planning a future visit. Dulce got me set up and even checked my blood pressure. She then took not only X-rays but also photos of my teeth. Later, Dr. Merchant used these images in conjunction with the X-rays to explain my oral health in way that I easily understood. This is especially helpful if you are a visual learner. Then Stephanie, the hygienist, cleaned my teeth. She is an expert in her craft. I never felt pain or discomfort. Also, she didn't bang any of the instruments against my teeth which was a big blessing. Dr. Merchant and staff are professional, efficient, and friendly and I will definitely be going back again!
