Sandraluz Gonzalez is a registered dental hygienist, and a certified orofacial myofunctional therapist practicing in the greater Albuquerque area. Sandraluz is a lifelong resident of Albuquerque who graduated from St. Pius X High School and went on to receive her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of New Mexico.
Sandraluz has completed advanced training in the treatment of orofacial myofunctional disorders, to include courses on airway disorders, sleep disorders, temporomandibular joint disorders, breast feeding disorders, and craniofacial, head and neck pain. Sandraluz has had professional clinical experience in a variety of settings, including stroke rehabilitation, cleft-palate evaluations, tongue and lip restriction which interfere w/ breastfeeding, Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA), and temporomandibular Joint Disorders (TMJD) rehabilitation. She is able to bring this expertise to accompany what Dr. Abeyta has created within her holistic dental practice.
In 2012 Sandraluz opened her own private practice focusing her attention on children with palatal formation disorders, open mouth breathing, tongue thrust disorders, speech sound disorders, improper swallow, and oral habit elimination. Recently, her focus has expanded to include adult patients who have been diagnosed with breathing disorders, and/or Obstructive Sleep Apnea, and may not be able to tolerate C-PAP or oral appliance therapy, and infants with feeding restrictions.
Sandraluz is a member and strong advocate of the American Academy of Physiologic Medicine and Dentistry (AAPMD), who helps to bring awareness to Silent Airway Disorders. She is also a member of the Academy of Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy (AOMT), Academy of Applied Myofunctional Sciences (AAMS), and the American Dental Hygiene Association (ADHA).

My visit at Dr. Alicia Abeyta's office was delightful. The moment I walked in the door I was greeted with a smile from the office manager and that excellent care was carried continued throughout my entire appointment. Great staff who genuinely cares and listens to your every concern. I can't recommend Dr. Abeyta's office enough.

Anyone who has TMJ, headaches, or migraines should get botox! Botox has been my lifesaver. Dr. Abeyta is so gentle with the shots I never feel a thing!

I have never had the kind of care that I have experienced with Dr. Abeyta's office. EVERYONE that works there is so kind and accommodating. I really appreciate the time they take to make things as comfortable as possible, kindly considering my list of allergies and holistic preferences, and working with me on the financial side. Its all about a billable event nothing more. Classless and more concerned about selling botox etc. not about caring about her patients.We spent thousands of dollars, will never go back again. Terrible experience!

Dr. Abeyta is the BEST dentist in Albuquerque. I have had several procedures with her and recommend her to everyone who asks me about a dentist. She is extremely knowledgeable, kind, and great listener. And, her staff is equally amazing.

Dr. Abeyta is a trustworthy holistic dentist. It was so refreshing to have her ask about history that other dentists don't typically consider, like duration of breastfeeding my kids (as it affects the circumference of their airways and formation of their palates). Also she is great at informing us about our diet's influence in dental health. Sarah, our hygienist, is absolutely wonderful at explaining/showing what she's doing for the kids, educating them, and following up to answer any questions I had. Outstanding team!

Dr Abeyta is terrific. I've had a lifetime of bad dentists but as soon as I arrived both she and her staff made me at ease. They explained everything in advance. She did a lot of work and I experienced no pain throughout the whole office. She changed my whole outlook on dentistry and oral care also. She has empowered and motivated me like I've never a experienced before.
