Dr. Behnia holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Engineering (Cum Laude) from Boston University as well as a Master of Science degree in Oral Biologyfrom the University of Maryland. He attained his specialty certificate in Endodontics, upon graduating from the University of Pennsylvania Dental School with honors.
Dr. Behnia has published and lectured extensively, both nationally and internationally. He is an active member of numerous professional societies, including the American Association of Endodontists (AAE), American Dental Association (ADA), American Society of Forensic Odontology (ASFO), American Association of Dental Boards (AADB), and the Commission on Dental Competency Assessments (CDCA).
At the national level, he has been actively serving his specialty professional association, the American Association of the Endodontists (AAE) at different capacities. He served on the AAE's Board of Directors as District I Director for three years. He is currently serving on the AAE's Constitution and Bylaws Committee.
At the local level, he is currently serving as the Chair of the General Arrangements Committee for the Maryland State Dental Association (MSDA) as well as serving on the Continuing Education Committee.
Prior to opening his private practice, Dr. Behnia was an Assistant Professor and Director of Pre-doctoral Endodontics for four years at the Department of Endodontics at the University of Maryland School of Dentistry. He is currently a Part-time Clinical Assistant Professor (Dean's Faculty) at the Department of Advanced Oral Sciences and Therapeutics, Division of Endodontics, University of Maryland School of Dentistry, Baltimore, Maryland.
He was recognized as a Top Dentist (Endodontist) by the Washingtonian Magazine in 2020. Dr. Behnia has also been honored Fellowships in the American College of Dentists and the International College of Dentists.
We pride ourselves in using the latest technological innovations in Endodontics. In our state-of-the-art practice, we utilize Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT), Digital Radiography, which significantly reduces radiation exposure to the patient. We also use Zeiss operating microscopes with Xenon light technology during all phases of root canal procedures.

I have had a lot of dental work done and and always have anxiety when it's time to get something taken care of. Dr. Behnia is one of the best dentists/endodontist I've ever been to. I had a root canal done and he made the process beyond smooth and easy. I was in-and-out so quickly and had 0 pain after. I highly recommend this endodontist. The best!

My dentist put crowns on 2 of my teeth and not to realized that one of the tooth needed root canal before she place a crown on the tooth. after the procedure,i had a lot of pain, i went back 3 or 4 times. and each time. she said crowns needed adjustment,but pain still there,then she took another x-ray and telling me that other tooth needed root canal,and she wants to send me to her Endodontist,i did not trust her. and left her office.now i am looking for an Endodontist, so i did extensive search for an Endodontist, and found Dr Ali behnia, i made an appointment, Dr behnia run test and found out that not only one ,but that 2 of my teeth needed root canal, and infection are so bad that i could end up in the hospital,he gave me another appointment,and in less than an hour. he did root canal on both teeth. and everything went very smooth.it is amazing, i should give A+ to my self to find Dr behnia, if you are looking for an Endodontist, i have done the work for you, he is truly best of the best . thank you Dr behnia for taking care of me.

I walked into Dr.Behnia's office welcomed by fresh air , beautifully clean and organized office and his kind and pleasant staff. With a severe tooth ache, I appreciated no wait time. Dr. Behnia explained his treatment plan and put my mind at ease knowing well I was in great care. His expertise and gentle care was exceptional. WAS very overwhelmed and happy with the whole experience with Dr. Behnia and staff from receptionist to nurses were so pleasant and patient with me. If u need a root canal, this Dr. Is the best, he explained the whole procedure to me. school can teach you dentistry, medicine, etc... but it cannot make you as curteous and humane as Dr. Behnia; I was so confused and scared as it was my first root canal; Dr. Behnia explained the entire procedure patiently to me; he double checked on the tooth before starting; he made sure to numb me; it went perfect; I couldn't say enough words about this amazing doctor; the office even called the next day to check on me; this practice is HIGHLY recommended; the office is very nice and the staff is nice and kind.

I am a returning patient of Dr. Behnia of FallsGrove Endodontics. God is fair for He did not give me good teeth but he gives me Dr. Behnia, a great Doctor, who makes root canal a piece of cake to both a patient and himself. His gym trained body gives him very steady hands to operate his drill bits to create wonderful dental work. His assistant has been working with him over 14 years. Their team work together is in such harmonic way that I almost forgot that i was in a dental chair. Please by all means visit Dr. Behnia when you need an endodontics dentist. You will be the next satisfied patient of his.

The office is impeccable. I was able to get an appointment immediately. The staff was diligent to get my insurance benefits and I knew exactly how much my copay was going to be. Dr. Behnia performed my root canal procedure in the most amazingly comfortable way. I got a courtesy follow up call the next day. They followed up with my general dentists so they could immediately follow up with me for my crown. You could not ask for better service and treatment!

Dr. Behina is A-Mazing!! Super kind, very thorough!! He did a great job on the root canal I needed. Another time, he celebrated with me when I didn't need a root canal. So nice to know doctors who do not push proceedures. He & his staff are just wonderful!! I hope you don't need a root canal, but go see Dr. Behina if you do!
