I wish I could give more stars to actually describe how happy I am with the treatment I got at Dr. Temlock's! I had some major procedures done here (bone graft, tissue grafts and teeth extractions) and every time was great. The doctor and his staff have been so supportive, explaining all the details and guiding me through the pre and post op. They also respected my decision not to take Oxy and never tried to force me to do anything I didn't feel comfortable with. I totally recommend Dr. Temlock!!! I know that going to the dentist can be scary, but rest assure that here you will be treated in the best possible way!

Without exaggeration or pride, I am every dentist's worst nightmare. I have extreme dental PTSD and as a result am a highly anxious patient. Even getting into a reception area (let alone in the seat) takes a great deal of coaxing. This dental aversion has led to some complications which Dr Temlock and his team have resolved over the last couple of years, from deep cleaning to wisdom teeth extractions, osseous pocket surgery and bone grafts. I have Never Felt A Thing. If you want the best care and handling with an empathetic team, these guys are word class.

I've been a patient with Dr. Temlock for over a decade. He has blessed both me and my wife with his skillful hands and determination to do exquisite work. My opinion of him and his staff are as good as it gets. Dr. Temlock has a great personality and I think of him as a genuine friend and dental magician. What a pleasure it is to be his patient.

At this point, I've had just about every type of procedure possible with Dr. Temlock. From routine and deep cleanings, to pocket reduction surgery, tooth extraction, and implant insertion. Dr. Temlock, the hygienists, and front desk have given me the best dental care imaginable. Everyone is incredibly thorough, caring, and transparent. I really appreciate Dr. Temlock's combination of laid back demeanor and supreme confidence in his abilities. I always feel like I am receiving elite care and that he has my best interests and health in mind. He also goes above and beyond in proactively communicating with my other dentist who is handling Invisalign for me. They have worked together every step of the way to put together the best gameplan possible for me and I'm blown away by that. I could go on, but suffice to say: come see Dr. Temlock for any dental needs you have without fear or anxiety. They'll take amazing care of you.

I had put off treating my gum recession for a few years and finally sought treatment at Dr. Temlock's office, who I was referred to through my dentist. Dr. Temlock and his staff were phenomenal throughout the process. Dr. Temlock is very upbeat and personable, and makes what could otherwise seem a daunting experience positive and comfortable. He's a great communicator, and I felt very much "in the loop" at each step in my treatment. Lindsay Salsman (who will likely help you schedule your appointments and navigate any pharmacy / insurance specifics) was extremely helpful and attentive, and answered all my various questions leading up to and after the surgery. She called to check in on me the next day after both my procedures. The frenectomy and gum graft procedures went smoothly. The frenectomy had a very short healing process. I had heard gum grafts were pretty uncomfortable, but I was completely numb the first day and when I woke up the second day I wasn't in any pain. Other than sticking to soft foods for the first 3-4 days, the healing process was unremarkable -- I would have taken care of my recession much sooner had I known this. My only recommendation would be to ask for another local anesthetic if you feel anything (at all) immediately post surgery. I didn't do this for my frenectomy, and the same day recovery was fine, but I did for the subsequent gum graft and not feeling anything for the rest of the day was better. My outcome was great: I had a pretty significant recession and I was able to recover my gum tissue. I've had a number of medical and dental procedures over the years and can't think of a better experience than the one here. I would strongly recommend Dr. Temlock's office.

As a newcomer to the Bay Area, having recently relocated from the east coast, I found it difficult to find physicians and dentists that provided the level of care I was used to. Through recommendations, I was referred to Dr. Alec Temlock and his practice in downtown San Francisco. Given that I am prone to extensive plaque accumulations, I need to have four cleanings a year. I have extremely sensitive gums and so deep cleanings tend to be very painful for me unless my gums are anesthetized. At Dr. Temlock's practice, the dental hygienists have the lightest touch that I have found - so light in fact that I only need numbing gel to get through the cleanings. The dental hygienists are thoughtful and because they know how sensitive my gums are, continually stop throughout the cleaning to ask how I'm feeling and to see if I'm experiencing any pain. They are truly very caring professionals. After each cleaning, Dr. Temlock examines my gums and measures the amount of gum loss. I am always very apprehensive of this part of the examination because I know that maybe I could've done better with my home cleanings. But Dr. Temlock has a very reassuring 'can do' attitude and approach. He takes the time to praise me for the gum work that I do at home and he reinforces the fact that if I keep up the good work, I won't need gum surgery any time soon. That alone is the inspiration that I need to continue my lengthy daily routines at home! Dr. Temlock is very engaging and puts you at ease right away with his great energetic smile. I especially like that you receive a follow up call the next day from one of his caring staff members - Lindsey, Miriam, Melissa or Sandra - to check in on you and to make sure you are feeling alright. The practice is very accessible by BART and the office is bright and has a nice open feel to it. All told, I am extremely pleased with the level of service that I receive from Dr. Temlock and his staff and recommend him without hesitation.

Don't be afraid. I received the best care! I met Dr. Temlock and staff & after a check up I was told I needed: a full deep cleaning, 4 extractions, skin & bone grafts. At all times Dr. Temlock & staff were gentle, explained everything, & walked me through the whole process. My 4 hour surgery went very well, I felt no pain during or after - NO PAIN. I followed instructions and other than a little annoyance from normal bleeding and slight swelling it was flawless. This isn't like the old days of pliers and a bucket - lol: it's modern, gentle, everything thought, and planned out. I highly recommend Dr. Temlock. Don't waste time getting the proper care you might need.

I. CANNOT. RECOMMEND. ENOUGH. Temlock and his staff made my wisdom teeth removal (all 4 of them!) as professional, easy, and harmless as possible. If you're reading this and you and I have in common that we are intimidated by this process, hate dentist appointments/mouth-invasive procedures, blood/surgery fear, and/or find this an annoying disruption to the routine you've carefully established to cope with 2020...you can be assured that Temlock's got your back. A few takeaways for me: 1) The amount of care and prep they take to make sure you're well aware of what the procedure will do, what to take care of ahead of time, how recovery will look like, etc. They'll walk you through a countdown timeline of what to stock-up on prior to the procedure, the day-of, and what to do after. Everything was so clear that it made something intimidating super manageable. 2) Customer service - I could ask any question at any time, via text, email, call, etc. They were great in following-up, checking-in, and helping me with post-surgery questions. They never made me feel stupid for some of the questions, which I know were quite...trivial at times. 3) Most importantly--the surgery itself. I have no medical background minus my high school Chem and Bio classes, but my mouth felt little pain and healed VERY effectively and cleanly, quickly. 4) Minimum disruption to my life. I was only bedridden the day-of surgery, and the day after. That's it. Of course, you have to be mindful of your alcohol consumption, food textures, etc., but I honestly didn't have to wait too long to do any. In 2 weeks, I was enjoying a toasted bagel.

First and foremost, I will like to thank Dr. Temlock and his amazing team. I can't stress enough how well they took care of me. They are straight to the point and get to work. The office is in a beautiful location without the extra mimics to drag patients in (Netflix, TVs). I was sent over to them via a referral from Studio Dental. They said they have worked extensively with Dr. Temlock and he is a trusted resource. Believe me, reviews matter and I did my research before accepting him. I love how they were straight forward with what I needed and waited until my FSA reset to process my claims and even accepted my visa gift cards as collateral. Second, I want to thank Shirley who completely handle my claim, receipts, processed payments, and kept up with my plan to recover 24/7. You made my experience with my doctor amazing as dealing with teeth issues aren't fun. Next in line was Rachel who did my cleaning and taught me so much about teeth and mouthwash hygiene, thank you from the bottom of my heart. These are all the procedures I had done and thankful enough it was a success and I recovered a week earlier to get my stitches removed. Please follow all doctor's orders if not you won't have a successful outcome. There are 4 basic components for my treatment plan: 1) Osseous/Flap Surgery: This is the actual gum surgery, and your insurance covers this procedure at 90% 2) Bone Graft: Dr. Temlock is going to attempt to regenerate some lost bone due to the infection/disease process. 3) Guided Tissue Regeneration (AKA: Membrane). This biological membrane holds the bone graft in place while your body regrows bone in the area. Bone grafts always need a membrane. 4) Biological Materials/Proteins (Emdogain). These proteins act as a regenerative biological material that stimulates your body to produce more periodontal tissue. This substantially improves the outcome and healing of your procedure. Your insurance does not cover the biological proteins required for your grafting (this is simply not covered by your insurance). Google "EMDOGAIN" if you would like to read/learn more information on these regenerative materials. 5) Oral Conscious Sedation I give them my full recommendation and in due time I will post before and after. Thank you so much.
