Dr. Doyle Freano is your trusted and experienced dentist in Lexington KY. He graduated from the University of Kentucky in 1980 with a Biology degree. He is a 1982 graduate of the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry. While there, he received awards from the Pierre Fauchard Academy and from the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Society.
Dr. freano received The Pierre Fauchard Award; given annually to the most outstanding senior dental student. The recipient is selected for their scholastic excellence, dedication to the profession of dentistry, and service to their fellow man. The Omicron Kappa Upsilon certificate of Achievement recognizes superior academic achievement in the top ten percent of the class.
Dr. Freano began his full time cosmetic and family dentistry practice in Lexington Kentucky in 1984. He maintains his private general practice by keeping up with the latest in dentistry. He joined the Faculty of the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry from 1985-1992 as an Associate Faculty in the department of Oral Diagnosis and Oral Medicine.
Dr. Freano has completed numerous continuing education courses throughout his years of practice. Of particular interest, he completed the International Dental Institute Comprehensive Approach to Dental-Facial Orthopedics in the Permanent Dentition Level 4 in Montreal, Canada. He is a certified Invisalign Preferred Doctor since 2003 and has successfully completed several hundred adult and child orthodontic cases in his general dental practice.
He was invited to join the Dawson Academy as an Associate Faculty in 2004 and has been active in teaching continuing education courses for Dentists from all over the world who have attended the Dawson Academy. He was the President of the Dawson Academy Alumni Association for six years and produced 60 webinars entitled Dawson Live for dentists seeking to offer complete care and the highest quality dental experienceto their patients.
The Dawson Academy provides training to dentists worldwide. The organization puts a heavy focus on understanding how Temporomandibular Joint (TMJ) disorders and bite related problems can be solved with comprehensive dental treatment.
Dr. Freano has maintained his membership in the American Dental Association, Kentucky Dental Association, and the Bluegrass Dental Society. He is the past Vice-President of the Bluegrass Dental Society. In 2014, Dr. Freano received the Passion for Dentistry Award given annually by the Dawson Academy in recognition of his passion for and dedication to the profession of dentistry.
Dr. Freano has volunteered for many different organizations during his life in Lexington. For example, he has been active in several church-sponsored activities, he coached youth baseball for over a decade with the South Lexington Youth Baseball organization, and he coached youth basketball with the Lexington Junior Pro League.
He served as a volunteer tutor at the Carnegie Center for Literacy and Learning and is a past graduate of the Commerce Lexington Leadership Lexington program and served on Steering Committee of Leadership Lexington.

I've been going to Dr. Freano for many years. The office is professional, he stays up to date on advances in dentistry, and he is compassionate. He explains what he's doing and why it's important. And he seems to love being a dentist!

Dr. Freano is the best dentist I have ever had! I was referred to him for my TMJ. I have suffered for 20 years and it only kept getting worse. Dr. Freano is highly knowledgeable about TMJ, as well as proficient in all types of dentistry. I began Invisalign in April- 2020. During this pandemic, he has taken every precaution to keep his patients, staff and himself healthy and safe!!! I trust him implicitly with any dental issue I may have in the future. I am going to continue seeing him for dental cleanings. He, and his team, are also the best. He is friendly, listens and gives you choices concerning the course of treatment. Shout out to Lexi and Stephanie for always being polite and friendly, even during this pandemic. I wish I could give him 10 stars

Doyle Freano Jr save my life.He excepted me when everyone else turned me down & tried to make me wait for months. It was defiantly an emergency. I cried out for help for so many months to the dentist that performed a rootcanal on me. He seen the problem walk me threw talk to me every step of the way.I thank him again and again not all dentist are good but he is he deserves that trophy and much more

This place is fantastic!! My name is Mandi Smith (my google account was setup before I was married) and me, my daughter, and my son are all working with Dr. Freano with each of our own individual dental problems. Dr. Freano is so patient, kind, informative, and you can tell he genuinely loves what he does! He cares about the difference he will make in the patients smile and that made me and my kids feel that we had found literally the best guy for the job! A couple of other things that really impressed me about Dr. Freano is that if something occurs- like a filling breaks, or any other problems, he wants you to come back to him! He does not care how long it's been or even if it's not the same dental issue you were seeing him for before. He still wants you to come to him because once he takes you on as a client, he cares so much that he doesn't want to see you go somewhere else and take a risk of a mistake being made by another dentist! Not because it's more work for him if the dentist does make a mistake, it's because he genuinely cares about his patients happiness! What impressed me the most is I had two choices on what I could do to fix my teeth and get to my end goal-Now most dentist would push you to do the most expensive option, but Dr. Freano recognized that me and my husband work for the Commonwealth and we have two teenagers, so our budget was not very high. And again, because he cares about his patients- he told me to do the second option and that it was best for me because it wouldn't break us financially, and it would provide me with the results I was looking for! I thought that spoke volumes because most doctors will try and get a patient to do what's going to make them the most money! I honestly cannot brag enough about this doctor and his staff! The whole process has been amazing and very much appreciated! I wish I would have found him years ago!

Looking for professionalism, efficiency, friendly staff, state of the art equipment and peace of mind? I highly recommend Dr. Freano's office. After 5-6 frustrating years of "trial & error" and literally thousands of $$$$ from my previous dentist of 20+ years I went to Doyle (yes, he likes to be called by his first name) on a recommendation from a local Periodontic Practitioner. On the 1st visit / consultation Doyle created a plan and a promise. After 3 appointments, I am unbelievably satisfied with progress made and the promise kept in a such short time and looking forward to finishing the plan with just a couple more cosmetics changes. I'm a little angry at the person who recommended Doyle fro NOT recommending him sooner (seriously). Thank you! Tom Hunt

Hands down fantastic, was able to help assess the underlying cause of my dental issues that have been a problem for over a decade with 7 different dentists passing me off. If you have any TMJ issues, go to him! Very knowledgeable and will help you achieve your goals, mine was being able to eat steak and loaded cheeseburgers.

I have a patient of Dr. Freano for four years. I was is serious need of a dentist capable of dealing with multiple dental issue. I came to Dr. Freano after during my research. I native Kentuckian, graduated from U.K. dental school where he later returned to teach, instruct the students. He has volunteered his skills to underserved communities. During one of my recent visits, I mentioned that I snored. Well Dr Freano correctly diagnosed sleep apnea and referred me to a specialist. I am now being treated an I feel so much better. The staff and dental assistants as the most skilled you will find, they are top notch. My wife and I will be patients of Dr. Freano for life.

I have been a patient of Dr. Freano's for over 20 years. Him and his staff have always provided excellent service and more importantly, great results. Recently I decided to improve the appearance of my smile. With Dr. Freano's expert and detailed analysis, I began the trek. The first phase was getting Invisalign to straighten my teeth. Following that I was fitted with a number of veneers. I now have a beautiful smile that I am not ashamed to share! My teeth are straight, my gap is gone, my bite is terrific and my smile is "like a movie star's"! Kudos to Dr. Freano and his awesome team!

Dr. Freano is awesome. Impeccably professional and detail oriented. He even noticed a skin spot and strongly suggested I have it examined by a dermatologist. It turned out to be a small skin cancer spot, which I would have ignored without him. Highly recommended.

Love Dr. Freano and his team! I recently moved back to Lexington and was so happy to back at Dr. Fresno's office. His staff and team are friendly, and more importantly he is an amazing dentist! I cannot wait to start my Invisalign with him shortly!! Cannot recommend a more thorough Dentist that truly cares for his patients and your safety during COVID!

Dr. Freano & all his staff are the greatest. He is very professional & has all the lasted equipment ...having added extra filtering that removes all particles in the air surrounding you & the whole dental area....he invested a lot in extra equipment & precautions since this Covid virus arrived.. His dental knowledge is unsurpassed. All of the staff is very professional as well...Azra was so helpful on my last 2 visits. Dr. Freano says he loves his work & it is very obvious that is why he does such a wonderful job. So glad to have him in Lexington area. He rates 5 Stars Plus...Thank you , Dr. Freano for caring for us.

Doyle is THE teeth whisperer. He just did a root canal on me and I was eating chicken breast 2 hours later. No discomfort whatsoever. Just took Advil as a preventative but didn't really need. He has all the cool new toys and uses cutting edge treatments. Doyle also teaches continuing education for dentist. The staff is great.
