Dr. Daniel Doyle graduated valedictorian from Fairleigh Dickinson University Dental School in 1980. After graduation, Dr. Dan joined George E. Dickinson III, D.D.S. with offices on Fair Street in Carmel, NY and on Route 311 Patterson, NY. In 1993 they moved the practice to its current location at 172 Route 311 Carmel, NY. Dr Dickinson retired from dentistry in 2004.
Dr Dan and his wife Karen raised their four boys (Patrick, Dennis, Ryan and Matthew) here in Carmel. The boys kept Dan busy, coaching local teams of soccer, basketball and baseball. Today, Karen and Dan are appreciating time spent with their growing family and grandchildren. The Doyles are members of St. James the Apostle Church, where Dan is a Eucharistic minister.
Dr. Dan is the past president of the Putnam County Dental Society and served as Putnam Countys representative to the Board of Governors of the Ninth District New York State Dental Society. He has completed over 1500 hours of continuing education course work in dentistry. Dr. Dan has been a member of the Putnam County Board of Health for over thirty years and is currently serving as the president. Dr. Dan provides community service thru his work with Donated Dental Services and travels annually to Haiti volunteering dental care. The 9th District Dental Association awarded him The Richard G. Spolzino Access to Care Humanitarian Award in March 2016 and the Rotary Club of Carmel, The Vocational Service award in June 2010. He was selected by his peers as a Top Dentist in Hudson Valley since 2009. Dan, Romina and Dennis all visit area nursery and elementary schools providing dental health education to the children of our community.
Dr. Romina Doyle, wife of Dr. Dennis Doyle joined Doyle dental in 2010. She graduated from the University at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine in 2009 with a Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) and completed her residency there in Advanced Education in General Dentistry. Growing up in the capital region, she received her Bachelor of Science Degree in biology from Siena College.
Romina is the proud mom of 3 children, Nolan, Giacomo, and Sadie. In her free time she loves spending time with her family. She enjoys being outside, making crafts, cooking and baking. Her son calls her a 'great cooker.'
Dr. Romina is a member of the American Dental Society, the New York State Dental Society, the Ninth District Dental Association and the Putnam County Dental Society. She is the recipient of the NYS Top Dentist for 2018. Drs. Dan, Dennis and Romina all visit area nursery and elementary schools providing dental health education to the children of our community.
Dr. Dennis C. Doyle was raised in Carmel, N.Y. and is a graduate of Carmel High School. Completing a Bachelor of Science degree in biology from Fairfield University in 2006, Dennis continued at the University at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine receiving a Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) as a General Dentist. He concluded his study with a one year post graduate residency in general dentistry at the Castle Point Veterans Hospital.
Dr. Dennis is the current vice president of the Putnam County Dental Society where he has also served as secretary/treasurer from 2013-2017. He is a member of the American Dental Association, the New York State Dental Association, and the Ninth District Dental Association. Recently Dr. Dennis was selected as a NY Top Dentist in 2018. Together with his wife, Dr. Romina Doyle and their three children Nolan, Giacomo, and Sadie they enjoy outdoor activities especially skiing and hiking. Drs. Dan, Dennis and Romina all visit area nursery and elementary schools providing dental health education to the children of our community.
Jen is a fun loving mother of two, who became part of the Doyle family practice over 20 years ago upon receiving her bachelor degree in dental hygiene from West Virginia University. Go Mountaineers! She lives in Brookfield, CT with her husband Frank, who is a detective with Bethel Police Department and an Army reservist. Frank recently returned home from a 10 month deployment in Africa. In addition to the demands of working full time, and being the mother of two very active young teenagers she finds time to run, having completed 5 marathons! She is a passionate member of Team Hammer Bike which raises money for MS. This charity is supported by the whole Doyle team.
Tracey has worked at Doyle Dental for over 35 years. Tracey started her journey here working part time while in high school as a dental assistant. After graduating from Old Dominion University with a B.S. in Dental Hygiene, Tracey returned as our first dental hygienist. In her free time, Tracey enjoys exercising, running (successfully completing both the NYC Marathon and the Marine Corps Marathon), knitting, reading, and is also very active in her local church. Tracey has two children, Matthew and Abigail, and lives in Dutchess County, NY.
Lorie is our office manager and has been with Doyle Dental for over 30 years. She worked with Dr. Dan as his dental assistant for more than 20 years before moving to the front desk. Lorie lives in Mahopac, NY with her husband Billy, a lieutenant with the FDNY. They enjoy time spent with their children, grandchildren and at their Lake House cottage in the Adirondacks. Reading and crocheting are her preferred pastimes.
James Harrison Merritt was born in Carmel on July 26, 1828, and went on to study dentistry in New York. He began a dental practice in Carmel in 1852. After three years, he moved with his family to Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. Dr. Merritt returned to Carmel 1857 due to his wifes ill health and re-started his practice, which he continued until his death in August 1883. His son, John Brown Merritt, was raised in Carmel and attended Drew Seminary School, before going on to graduate from the New York College of Dentistry in 1887. He then took over his fathers practice, which was located on the shore of Lake Gleneida.
The younger Dr. Merritt was succeeded by Dr. George Ernest Dickinson, Jr. Born in Brewster, Dr. Dickinson attended Hobart University and earned his D.D.S. degree. He had two offices: One on Seminary Hill Road across from Lake Gleneida and a second one in Brewster, on Main Street over the Goosen Furniture store. His son, George E. Dickinson III, graduated from Georgetown University School of Dentistry and joined his fathers practice. They worked together until the elder Dr. Dickinson retired; their office was located at 5 Fair Street in Carmel.
Dr. Daniel C. Doyle, who was born and raised in Brewster, joined the practice in 1980 after graduating from Fairleigh Dickinson University School of Dentistry. Dr. Dickinson and Dr. Doyle opened a second office on Route 311 in Patterson in 1980. They relocated to their present location on Route 311 in Lake Carmel in 1993. Dr. Doyle continued the practice after Dr. Dickinson retired in 2004.
In 2010, Dr. Romina T. DoyleDr. Daniel Doyles daughter-in-lawjoined the practice after graduating from University of Buffalo School of Dentistry. Her husband, Dr. Dennis C. Doyle, joined the practice in 2011 after graduating from UB School of Dentistry.

For the past 5 months I have been treated by Dr. Dennis Doyle, practically once a week. I had put off seeing a dentist for many years due to anxiety, fear, health issues and money. Due to medication and oral neglect, my mouth was an eyesore and in pain. I took time with MUCH internet research, and I came upon The Doyle Dentistry. I decided to take the risk, I felt this family-oriented Dentistry is what I needed. At this present day I can say that Doyle Dentistry is one the best things I chose to do. You get to know so many of the staff members, all are friendly, caring, professional, non-judgmental supportive and very knowledgeable. In my first meeting with Dr. Dennis Doyle my anxiety slowly diminished, as he did not judge me and took my medical issues into consideration as we discussed a work plan. I had the pleasure of Dr. Dennis Doyle and his wife, Dr. Romina Doyle work on my mouth one day. Talk about a family-oriented business! Love it! I am so pleased with the progression of the work on my teeth and blessed that I have found a wonderful place that has become an anxiety free zone and comfortable place for me. All staff are vaccinated and offices as well as treatment rooms are spotless, I had no covid concerns at all! I am so happy with the work, as well as getting to know everyone at the Doyle Dentistry! Today I smile proudly!

This is long lol but I must share how Doyle Dental went ABOVE and BEYOND!! It was an early start to Senior PROM day with an emergent visit to the dentist!! The night before at 530p, my daughter came downstairs and told me that the bond came off her front tooth leaving her with an almost toothless smile, though she was far from smiling We frantically were calling various dentists, most of which had either just closed or were closing in the next 20 min. With the senior breakfast at 830a at the school and then having hair appt, makeup to be done, pics etc, it's not exactly the day that has a lot of flexibility in the schedule. I was on hold with 1-800 DENTIST and my husband called Doyle Dentist which my daughter had actually found online that was still open. Although they too were ready to leave and unable to stay late, Dr. Doyle himself called back and said he felt so bad about the situation that he offered to come in at 645am this morning and fix her tooth!!! Omg we were blown away! We were not even patients there and he totally went above and beyond for us! I can't say enough about him and his staff, and highly recommend them if you are looking for someone. The only thing that he asked of my daughter was that she someday pay it forward, that a time will come where she will be in the position to help someone. So grateful and thankful for kind, caring practitioners

The best! I can't say enough about the level of care and kindness I received from the entire Doyle Dental Team. To anyone else with severe dental anxiety who has also put off a dental visit for entirely too long and are frozen in place by the uncertainty of knowing who to see: Dr. Dennis Doyle is your dentist. Dr. Doyle was patient, abundantly knowledgeable, completely trustworthy, and very generous with his time. In true neurotic fashion, I asked many questions to which he answered each thoroughly and made recommendations based strictly on my well being, going against options that would've been profitable for him. I had a dental cleaning by Tracy that was actually rather delightful. She did an amazing job and somehow made it fun. The front desk staff was so kind and helpful in accommodating my schedule. A great experience all around!

I've been coming to Doyle Dental for a couple of years and have been impressed with the quality of care. I recently had my first cavity and had a filling with Dr Dennis Doyle and was very happy with how gentle and thorough he was with the filling. He took the time to answer my questions and make sure I understood what the steps were and next steps after the filling.

Due to Covid, I had not visit my dentist since 2019. After calling them and no reply, I decided to try the Doyle dental office. Clearly I was over due for dental care. Tracy did a great job making me feel comfortable, and an excellent job cleaning my teeth! And everyone was so nice! Thank you Tracy and the Doyle staff!

Dr. Romina is a wonderful dentist! She is so sweet, caring, friendly, and informative. I was so nervous and she took the time to explain everything thoroughly to me and made sure during the entire procedure that was I was comfortable, relaxed and not in pain. My teeth came out beautifully and I am extremely grateful to her. The entire staff is professional, friendly, and compassionate! I highly recommend Doyle Dental! The entire team provides excellent service!

Dr. Dennis Doyle is a very professional, knowledgeable Dentist. He explained my course of treatment in a detailed and understandable way. While preparing for a filling in a tender front tooth he injected the Novocain without any pain at all! Also the results were amazing! I am very happy to have found such a caring and good dentist!

After I chipped both of my front teeth, I came right in to see Dr. Doyle and he fixed them in less than an hour! I'm very happy with how they turned out- you can't even tell they were ever chipped. He did a fantastic job!

Hands down the best service and care around. Everyone here has been friendly and helpful with all questions I've had. I had been going to a different dentist a few towns over, where I have had numerous bad experiences making me anxious to take care of my teeth.
