Dr. Stephen Colby enjoys working with patients of all ages in order to give them beautiful, straight smiles that are full of confidence. He has exclusively practiced orthodontics in the Edina area for 16 years and is the third generation of orthodontists practicing here.
Dr. Colby attended DePaul University where in 1990, he graduated with his Bachelor of Arts degree. He continued on to the University of Minnesota where he earned his Doctorate of Dental Surgery in 1994 and his Master of Science degree in 1996. Dr. Colby is an active member of the Minnesota Association of Orthodontists and the American Association of Orthodontists, is a Premier Preferred Provider of Invisalign, and serves as an orthodontic consultant for the Spear Study Club.
Dr. Colby grew up in Edina and is proud to live, work, and raise his family here. He and his wife, Kristi, have three children, Peter, Drew, and David. In his free time, Dr. Colby enjoys playing golf and hockey, fishing, and spending time at his cabin.
Dr. William Colby attended Lawrence University for his undergraduate education and continued on to the University of Minnesota for his Doctorate of Dental Surgery. He attended the University of Manitoba for his Master of Science degree and Orthodontic Certification. Dr. Colby has been practicing orthodontics for over 50 years and was an active member of the American Dental Association, the American Association of Orthodontists, the Minnesota Dental Association, and the Minneapolis District Dental Society.
Dr. Colby is a native of Minneapolis and currently resides in Edina with his wife of 48 years, Judith, and their dog, Armine. In his free time, Dr. Colby enjoys playing golf, fishing, hunting, traveling, and spending time at his cabin.

Marlys has many years of experience in all aspects of the front office and can also assist our patients with many of their insurance and financial needs. She is caring, kind, and courteous, always looking for a new way to make our patients feel as comfortable as possible. Marlys has two children, Jenny and Ryan, and three wonderful grandchildren. She enjoys walking, biking, listening to music, and spending time with her family and friends. Whatever shes doing, Marlys is always smiling!
Judy has worked on our team for over 30 years. She transitioned from being a dental assistant to office manager and now helps to make sure our office runs smoothly from day to day. Judys warm and inviting personality instantly puts patients at ease, and she loves working with them one-on-one to make sure all their needs are met. Judy and her husband, Steve, have two daughters, Angela and Heather, and six grandchildren. Bullet, their black lab, keeps them company at home. In her free time, Judy enjoys boxing, running, yoga, and reading.

I arrived a few minutes early, was greeted immediately by Gabrielle, my assigned practitioner. She and Dr. Colby were efficient, informative, gentle, kind and honest. Just the sort of folks you can trust digging around in your oral cavity! I value their professional advice and perspective and the calm, quiet environment. It's also fun to go downtown, visit the Medical Arts Building, grab a bite to eat or a coffee in the area.

I go to the downtown office. The clinic is organized and efficient, the staff attentive, respectful, nice. Dr. Colby has done a fine job fixing my bite and the appearance of my teeth. I chose him in part for his reputation, and in part because he welcomed all my initial questions about orthodontia. He answers a question at every visit, in fact. Dr. Colby integrated findings from other dental care I have needed. This was no small task. Lastly, I am almost certainly among the practice's eldest patients. I have never felt my age to be a factor in our interactions.

We had our first appointment today. Great experience from start to finish. The staff were awesome and great with my son. Very clean in both locations. We went to the newer place for X rays after. I highly recommend!

My experience with Dr. Stephen Colby and his staff has been nothing short of amazing! I was very nervous to get my braces done. The moment I walked in for my first visit I was greeted with GENIUNE smiles and a warm welcome. When Dr. Colby walked me through the process he was very supportive and respectful of my decisions. Ever since I' especially had my braces put in, my friends and family notice I smile even more. Dr. Colby is a genius! My smile looks amazing and this investment was worth every penny.
