Dr. Richard M. Rathke, Jr., grew up in Lacombe, Louisiana, and attended Slidell High School. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Louisiana State University (2006) and a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from LSU School of Dentistry (2012). Dr. Rathke takes pride in providing dental services as he would for himself and his family while ensuring that every patient is comfortable throughout the procedure.
His professional affiliations include the American Dental Association, Louisiana Dental Association, and New Orleans Dental Association. Some of the continuing education courses Dr. Rathke has taken include the following:
Dr. Rathke and his wife, Morgan, have been married since 2014. They live in Metairie along with their dog, Bob. Dr. Rathke enjoys spending his free time with friends and family, playing golf, and traveling.
Vicky is our lead dental assistant with more than 27 years of experience. She takes great pride in making sure every patient feels at home while at Downtown Dental and tries to make everyone feel like they are part of our dental family.
Vicky was born and raised in the New Orleans area and attended John Ehret High School. When not at work she loves spending time with her husband and her two teenage daughters. She is an animal lover and enjoys long walks with her two dogs, Chloe and Ollie.
Natalie is our receptionist, insurance coordinator, and financial coordinator. In addition to all of her front office duties, she has been an expanded duty dental assistant for more than 15 years. She takes great pride in making sure the office is running as smoothly as possible. Her favorite part of working at Downtown Dental is the family feel. She does whatever is necessary to make sure our patients leave with a smile on their face.
She has twin daughters, Kacie and Kassie, as well as a 10-year-old daughter, Kelsie. During her time off, she can be found spending time with her family, cheering for the Saints, or planning her next trip to Disney World.
Anne is our registered dental hygienist who has been practicing since 2001. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Dental Hygiene from LSU School of Dentistry and also holds a license to administer local anesthesia. She strives to provide excellent, gentle and compassionate dental hygiene services to patients of all ages. Anne enjoys taking care of her patients and helping them attain optimal dental health and a smile of which they can feel proud.
She and her husband, Ron, have three wonderful children who keep her very busy. In her off time, she enjoys spending time with her children as well as outdoor activities such as gardening and volleyball.

Only dentist I trust in the city. 10/10 would recommend. Dr Richard is a trust worthy dentist. He has a gentile touch. He is honest and well educated. He has your health in mind. This location has up to date medical equipment and it is a clean environment. Very personable and kind staff. He fixed a crown for me. The one he put on has been great! No issues a year later. Don't go to them for dental work, pretty much ruined my bite. Supposedly needed three fillings and the work was as subpar at best now I feel like I'll need to have something done about my bite...they call you nonstop like creditors...my experience with this place was just poor.

Excellent care. In town for conference at downtown hotel when a crown popped off. They got me in the next day, was in, repaired and out in 30 minutes. Dr and staff were very friendly. Office is in a very cool setting. I'd go back in a heartbeat and recommend him without question.

Great service. My only concern is parking, as the Downtown Dental spots (where we are allowed to park for free) are typically full.

I was in town for business and had a dental emergency. Dr. Rathke and staff were amazing. They got me in quickly, gave me some options and gently resolved my issue. Vicky was the assistant during the procedure and was very empathetic and supportive.

Dr. Rathke and Anne we're both amazing with my 2 year old. They got down on the floor and made her feel comfortable. They were very informative about what was going on with my teeth and our next steps. I highly recommend Downtown Dentists!
