Our approach to dentistry and clinical decisions considers our patients' concerns, needs, and goals. Oral health assessments are presented with empathy and care. We work together with our patients to create treatment plans that consider their comfort and goals while focusing on preventative care and improvement of oral health.
Dr. Scott Koidahl is a graduate of the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry. He worked as a clinical intern at the University of Minnesota, where he received additional training. Prior to dental school, Dr. Koidahl graduated with a BS in Biology from the University of Minnesota Duluth.
Dr. Koidahl lives in South Minneapolis with his wife, Leslie. They have three grown sons who also live in Minneapolis. Outside of the office, Dr. Koidahl enjoys both playing and coaching sports, traveling, reading, movies, T.V. and spending time with his family.

The owner up an sold his old practice without even notifying a single client. I am astounded at how a practice can sell and reopen without telling their own customers. Don't pick this place.

This is a short review based on my first visit to Downtown Dental. The staff and the dentist have wonderful dispositions, being friendly, thoughtful and energy. There's a quietness that I found calming. I plan to see them in the summer for 6 month check-up.

I had a fear of the dentist for many years which caused me to avoid regular check-ups, so I was not sure what to expect. Dr. Koidahl and his staff were AMAZING! My dental hygienist was phenomenal (that is probably an understatement), she was clear and concise in communicating what she was doing prior to execution, which made me feel relaxed (again, big fear of the dentist) and was very gentle. I left my appointment feeling great; As long as I live in Minneapolis, Downtown Dental will be my spot. I highly recommend.

I have always been impressed with the staff's kindness and professionalism and am even more so now. The safety measures they have set in place during this pandemic were reassuring to me and their understanding of my anxiety at my visit were very much appreciated. Dr. Koidahl is a kind person and I like his conservative approach to dental issues. I'm thankful to have found him through a recommendation years ago.

I have been seeing Dr. Koidahl in downtown Minneapolis for 20 years. My first experience with him was over an emergency root canal on a Saturday. I called several places and finally got a hold of his call service. He came in the office a couple of hours after the call to treat me. Thank God for Dr. Koidahl! He genuinely cares and always looks out for your best interest. His entire staffs is great, professional, experienced, friendly and they treat me like family. Top notch service is what you will get there! Guaranteed!

I haven't been to a dentist in 5 years but I had an emergency cosmetic tooth issue come up over the weekend. I was able to walk in to make an appointment for the very next day. They were incredibly quick and accommodating. I was able to get in and out and back to work in an hour. On top of that, the work on my tooth is perfect! I asked 3 people to guess which front tooth was chipped and all of them guessed the wrong tooth!
