A native of Montgomery County, Dr. Hal Cohenis a graduate of Temple University Kornberg School of Dentistry, where he was proud to serve as President of his class. He is also a graduate of Penn State University, where he earned a BS in Life Sciences.
Dr.Cohenhas worked as a dentist throughout the greater Philadelphia area for several years, and believes a trip to the dental office can actually be an enjoyable experience. Dr. Cohen actively pursues continuing education to provide his patients with the most current and progressive methods of treatment.Dr. Cohen has been named aTop Dentist 2022for General Dentistry byPhiladelphiamagazine and Main Line Today.
A long-time resident of South Philadelphia, Dr. Cohen currently resides in Ardmore with his wife, daughter, son and dachshund, Rufus. He enjoys spending his leisure time in the kitchen cooking, on the tennis courts, relaxing with a good book and eating his way around Philadelphia.
Sandy got her start in dentistry over 25 years working as an orthodontic assistant. After working in general dentistry and other specialties including oral surgery and endodontics, she has taken her talents to our front desk where she is currently one of the friendly faces who greets you upon arrival. Sandy lives in Downingtown and enjoys spending time with her husband, 2 sons and daughter.
There is no missing Cassies friendly, southern accent when she greets you at the front desk, or over the phone! Raised in Texas, she and her family moved to West Chester in 2020, when she also joined Downingtown Family Dentistry. Cassie has worked in the dental field for almost a decade and loves it! She has been married to her husband for 22 years, has 2 wonderful kids and 2 amazing grandkids. She enjoys spending time with family and friends every chance she gets!
Jen has worked at Downingtown Family Dentistry since she graduated from Grand Rapids Community College in Michigan in 2004. She loves her job and the relationships she has formed with her patients, hearing about their families and interests. When shes not working, Jen enjoys spending time with her husband and three children, golfing, and traveling back to her native Michigan to see family and friends.
Elina has been practicing Dental Hygiene for over 20 years. After receiving her associates degree of Dental Hygiene from the University of Pittsburgh, she earned a BA degree in Health Sciences from West Chester University. She takes great pride and enjoyment in learning about each individual and their families, as well as educating them about oral health.
Born and raised in the former Soviet Union, Elina moved to Chester County in 1991. She enjoys travel and spending her free time with her family which includes: her husband, a local architect, her son looks to continue his art as a competitive dancer after high school, and her daughter who enjoys playing soccer and competing in gymnastics.
Our newest team member Patrice recently started her career in dentistry and has taken a real shine to it! She brings with her a wealth of experience in customer service and has enjoyed getting to meet our patients! She has four great children, and in her spare time, enjoys cooking, listening to music, and going to the beach.
She has 3 awesome kids with whom she enjoys having living room dance parties and exploring the outdoors. Katie is also an artist who creates in several mediums.She also enjoys taking courses online as she believes knowledge is the most valuable resource you can have!

Highly recommend Dr. Cohen and his staff. Having been a patient for decades at this particular practice (first with Dr. Keith Sharkan) I was not disappointed with the transition to Dr. Cohen's team. Love the efficiency and the quality care.

We travel from Connecticut every four months to see Dr Cohen. Hard to find an excellent dentist. But we did and we have stuck with him and his staff. Very trustworthy and has genuine concern for his patients!!!

You would think a dental appointment would create anxiety and be stressful. Not here. No matter what the issue Dr Cohen and the staff put you at ease and always make sure you are comfortable and well taken care of.

Dr Cohen and his staff are awesome. Super friendly and helpful. They hygienist did a great job and gave me just the right amount of (deserved) tough love. Dr Cohen filled a couple cavities quickly and effectively with a couple good jokes on the house! More recently, I had to cancel an appointment, and Dr. Cohen graciously offered to mail the next couple "SureSmile" trays (invisalign) to my home.

Receptionist was rather rude; my first call I was stressed trying to find a place that took my mother's insurance and I was told DFD did, they didn't and the receptionist didn't help to ease my mind, and I made an appointment in case I couldn't find another dentist. Admittedly I forgot to call and cancel, but when they called me wondering where I was and I told them I forgot and I was sorry, she just hung up on me. May have just caught them at a stressful time, so it's a shame, but I've been having to juggle appointments for both my 22 mo old and my mom during these stressful times and such a reaction just felt unprofessional. I wish I got the people other reviews praise. I just wanted to share my brief experience for those going in to know what they may get, but hopefully you have a better experience. My mom may not be able to go here, but I'll now definitely make sure the rest of my family goes elsewhere.

I've been going to Family Dentistry since moving into the area in 95. Dr Cohen continues to provide outstanding service. He'll check up on you over the weekend if necessary and always makes sure that his patients are well cared for. Staff are friendly and courteous. Good hygenists who do a great job.

I just began treating with Dr. Cohen. He and his staff are very nice, and very professional. I went for a cleaning and to have some extensive work done. The hygienist who cleaned my teeth was very nice and did a thorough job. Dr. Cohen's work was excellent. He was very attentive to any pain I may experience and did an amazing job. I am very pleased with the result and I would recommend Dr. Cohen to anyone for any dental issue.

Dr. Cohen and the entire staff are so incredible that I fly 3,000 miles from California to visit him once a year. He is friendly, professional and very knowledgeable. He takes the time to explain procedures and answers all of my questions. Most importantly, he does not convince me to do unnecessary dental work like the dentists in Los Angeles. He's the best!

Dr. Cohen is a truly knowledgeable, kind, and wonderful dentist who really goes above and beyond for his patients and anyone seeking dental assistance. During this concerning pandemic, I have been stressing over the urgency of my daughter's cavities and how and when to seek emergency treatment. I called numerous pediatric dental offices trying to reach someone that could give me guidance but to no avail. Upon reaching Dr. Cohen, he immediately put my mind at ease. He was extremely understanding, helpful, and willing to assist me in getting her the care she needed. He looked at photos of her teeth and suggested the best course of action, even willing to follow up further. I can't emphasize enough how truly encouraging it is to speak to a professional who really cares. I can assure you, Dr. Cohen truly does. I look forward to bringing my family to see him regularly once this pandemic ends. Thank you again, Dr.!!
