Dr. Kenneth Downing and the members of our team are dedicated to serving our community with advanced treatments and comprehensive education. We believe that professional dentistry should not just enhance your smile, it should also improve your overall well-being. Recent studies have shown an intrinsic relationship between your oral, bodily, and mental health.
Dr. Downing and his family reside in the city of Happy Valley. His wife, Shellaina, also pursued a career in medicine as she is a nurse in the Mother-Baby department at OHSU. Together they have a son, Harrison, and two Maine Coon cats, Rory and Zoe. Dr. Downing took after his grandfather, Dr. Larry Rask, who also practiced dentistry in southeast Portland for close to 40 years.

I am so afraid of the dentist and they made me feel so comfortable and my kids love getting their teeth cleaned there! My husband has gone their since he was a little boy and it is so great that there are people still there to great him like family. We are all treated so kindly and they truly make you feel cared about

As loyal patients of the dentist who retired and sold his practice to Dr Downing, we were so happy Dr Downing kept on the same staff - all of whom love working for him - it's a testament to how great he is and we couldn't be happier that we choose to stay after our dentists retirement too - Dr Downing and his staff are personal, professional and make all ages feel welcome and comfortable.

My 6 year old daughter had an appointment, she usually gets anxiety even for a wellness check with her Dr that she knows since she was born. I love how Dr Charles and the staff made it so easy and they were so friendly and kind, the Dr was explaining to her everything he was going to do and all his tools. She left so happy

Dr. Downing is very efficient and knowledgeable. The staff is friendly, the clinic is nice and clean. I called for an emergency appointment and was accommodated with an appointment a few hours later. I recommend Downing Dental.

I have been going to this local family dental office since I lost my first tooth! but seriously, over 20 years and everyone knows me and my family by name. They are all so friendly and truly care about their patients.
