Dr. Derick Nguy is a calm, passionate and caring doctor who prides himself on his ability to provide a peaceful and tranquil environment for his patients and their families. He has built his practice to reflect his serene nature.
His passion for technology has fueled his drive to continue to learn and develop a state-of-the-art dental practice with the utmost regard for patient care. He has crafted a technologically advanced office to keep patients at ease and bring forth cutting edge techniques to create the perfect smile.
With a strong dedication to education, he earned hisBachelor of Science degree from the University of California, Irvine. Dr. Derickcompleted his studies in dentistry at the University of California, Los Angeles in 2005.
Dr. Bao Vinh is a caring and compassionate doctor who has dedicated his career to creating a comfortable and inviting atmosphere for patients and their families. He is focused on developing long-term relationships built on trust and fostered by commitment.
In 1995, Dr. Vinh earned hisBachelor of Science degree from the University of California Irvine and completed his studies in dentistry at University of Southern California in 1999. He stays in tune with the latest dental advancements and implements them in his office to ensure that each patient receives ultimate dental care.
Dr. Vinh is a devoted husband and loving father to his two precious girls. The family loves being outdoors, hiking, bike riding, swimming and spending time with friends and family. With his warm heart and radiant smile, you are in good hands.
Dr. Ngo was born and raised in Indiana. He attended Indiana University and earned his Master of Science degree from Purdue University. He completed his studies in dentistry at the University of Southern California in 2009. Dr. Ngo is an adoring husband and doting father. He loves sports, fantasy sports, collecting sports memorabilia, traveling, art and considers himself a foodie.
Dr. Brian Nguyen has spent the majority of his life dedicated to the community. Over the years his empathy and genuine care for others has earned him the respect of the communities hes served. He is committed to providing exceptional patient-centered care and believes in educating patients to enable them to make an informed decision about their dental health.
Dr. Nguyen graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of California, Santa Barbara with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biochemistry. He earned his doctorate dental degree in dental surgery from the University of Southern California, Los Angeles. He was later commissioned as a Captain in the United States Army and served on active duty for 4 years.
In 2018, Dr. Nguyen returned home to Southern California where his family resides. He spends his free time with family and friends, exploring local eateries, venturing on outdoor activities, cruising the shorelines on his motorcyle, carving the slopes, and just relaxing at home with comfort food and movies.

I love this office! I was never a fan of dental work and now I love coming here. I feel that they all genuinely care and take care of all my dental needs. My appointment time is always respected and I never feel rushed out. The doctor is amazing! I truly appreciate him calling me over the weekend to check how I was feeling when my wisdom teeth were pulled out. The hygienist is great! Everyone there will make you feel like family. Thank you all!

All the staff here is so welcoming, and always make me feel so comfortable when I go. A great and clean place as well. You can see they are passionate on what they do! My whole family is always treated well as always.

BEST DENTAL OFFICE EVER!! If you are looking for new dental office, look no further. I have been coming here to for years now. My hygienist Hoang is the BEST!! Not only is he very thorough, but you can tell he truly cares about his patients. Dr. Derick & Hoang are both very knowledgeable and informative. They explained every step to me and was also able to give me their professional opinion to maintain my dental health. The quality care and service from Dr. Derick, Hoang, and all the staff at Downey Family Dental is professional and kind. They treat you like family and are always honest with their work. I HIGHLY recommend coming here!!

The service is impeccable. Dr Derick will always explain what and why something is done and he does it well. And Phoebe is the most gentle, delicate, and time managed hygienist i've experienced. She doesn't rush or poke you. Highly recommend!

Phoebe could be the BEST hygienist to clean my teeth in 30 years! She is gentle, very thorough, and very encouraging. I've had gums issues my entire life but no longer! I am so glad that I have found this dental office. True pride of quality care and service from every person.
