Dr. Jones graduated from the University of North Carolina Dental School in 1998. He then completed a General Practice Residency at St. Johns Mercy Medical Center in St. Louis, MO and an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Internship and Residency at Cook County Hospital in Chicago, IL.
Dr. Jones is certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Advanced Trauma Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support and is an instructor for Basic Life Support. He is a member of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, Illinois Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, International Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, American College of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, American Society of Dental Anesthesiologists, American Dental Association, Illinois State Dental Society and McHenry County Dental Society. He is also a clinical assistant professor at University of Illinois Dental School and treasurer for the Chicago Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons.
During my extramural clinical rotations through the UIC College of Dentistry, I was challenged to become a flexible and adaptive clinician. At Asian Human Services, I was able to design complicated treatment plans for immigrant patients who had received failed treatment from their home countries. My patience, creativity, communication, and patient-doctor rapport was polished at the Childrens Clinic when I treated fifteen-year-olds who acted like two-year-olds, and two-year-olds who acted like fifteen-year-olds. My speed and endurance evolved at Dr. Radas Clinic when providing comprehensive dental treatment to special needs patients under anesthesia. This involved diagnosing, treatment planning, and executing the treatment within a limited two-hour timeframe.
During my education at the UIC College of Dentistry, I refined my dentistry skills. My dental experience as a student was comprised of providing comprehensive dental services through direct and indirect restorations, fixed and removable prosthodontics, non-surgical endodontic and periodontal therapy, and oral surgery. In addition, my training in digital dentistry, implant dentistry, and orthodontics made me significantly interested in pursuing continuing education to expand my skills as a clinician. I became familiar with prescribing oral appliances for sleep apnea patients, analyzing the upper airway through CBCT software, and providing limited orthodontic treatment.
Edita has been in the dental field for over 18 years. She started as a dental assistant and has become proficient in all aspects of this position. She always strived to do more for our patients. After being dental assistant for 14 years she went through training to be an office manager. She is dedicated to help patients have a smooth, educated and comfortable experience. What makes her stand out is her belief and commitment to make dentistry available to every patient in need. She takes her responsibility seriously. She is always willing to help and work with patients to make sure their needs are being met.
Ani has been a dental assistant for well over 5 years. She loves being a dental assistant. She is very compassionate, enthusiastic and knowledgeable. Her warm smile helps put anyone who is anxious about dentistry in ease. Ani is very dedicated in providing exceptional patient care. She has two dogs named Buddy and Kaner, whom she adores very much. During her spare time she loves to sing. She enjoys traveling, camping, and spending time with her family.
Monika received her dental hygienist degree from College of DuPage. Monika joined our team in 2016. She is gentle, thorough and very knowledgeable. She takes her time to really evaluate patients concerns, gum health and oral hygiene practices. She is a very valuable resource to make sure the foundation of our patients teeth is well taken care of. Her goal is to provide comfortable care, a satisfying experience and help patients achieve the best oral health possible. Patients love to see her and she receives lots of compliments about their experience with her.

Having bad experiences with dentists in the past, I finally went back to get an exam and cleaning. Maria Jackson explained everything she needed to do, took her time and put me at ease. She was so nice and professional. I will definitely go back.

Not in good faith/lack of communication I was a patient as this dental office for almost a decade, and I recommend you to STAY AWAY. I am highly unsatisfied by recent office practices and the quality of work. My major concern was the work done on my implants. It took 11.5 months (almost a year!!) from the moment of extraction till the time the crowns were placed. And there were NO health complications/long healing times in my case. I had multiple delays in appointment scheduling, multiple re-scheduling of appointments, including due to lack of instruments available to install a crown, crowns arriving from the lab of really wrong shape/color. In the middle of all this they stopped accepting Delta Dental PPO, and moved on to Delta Dental Premier, and DID NOT TELL ME about it. That resulted in huge (above couple thousand dollars above what I expected) bill coming in later, which I had to fight based on unannounced insurance change and MULTIPLE errors (ex., double counting procedures) in the bill itself. Few months later after the entire process was done, I started experiencing pain in the implant area. Dr. Gulati looked at it in assured me it was fine. The pain got worse (over the course of months) and I asked to see the surgeon who did the implant. The surgeon gave me antibiotics and said that there is too much inflammation in the area to tell for sure and told me to COME BACK IN 6 weeks without trying to fix anything on the spot. I went for a second opinion to a different office the next day, and they noticed right away that the crown WAS LOOSE, which the previous surgeon did not even mention. After few trips to the new dental office and worsening pain I went to a new surgeon who IN A SINGLE VISIT diagnosed me with a failed implant, and now I am REDOING AN IMPLANT ALL OVER AGAIN. And insurance WON'T PAY for this since the previous implant did not even last 2 years. On top of that, it took me multiple emails and calls over days to get my records from Downer's Dental so I could work with a different office, which is very inconvenient when trying to deal with urgent dental pain. I requested my whole record at some point, but surely did not get it. I contacted Dr. Gulati's office asking for office's continuation of care policies (refund possibly) in February this year. They promised to look into it. It is AUGUST now, and I have not heard back. The whole ordeal was just a disaster, and I have NO faith in this dental office, neither in the quality of care nor in billing/administrative side.

I have zero complaints about this dentist office, Dr. Gulati and her assistant are both amazing. I have been to quite a few different dentist offices and this is the only one i feel good going to, even if it is an over 30 minute drive for me.

I am very happy to have found a professional but yet supportive dental team. They are careful while working on your teeth. I don't hide my smile any longer because my teeth were taken care off to an almost perfect smile! Recommend it!

Clean place, friendly staff. During my routine cleaning, I was charged $15 for PPE and I personally didn't touch any of their PPE inventory besides a plastic cover for the credit card machine to pay. Apparently the ADA has suggested that it's appropriate to charge dental patients extra (downers dental argument) for this but I find it challenging to see where they used less or more PPE then before the pandemic, especially to the point where one should have to pay extra. I wouldn't be writing this review if I was notified before my appointment that this was a new mandatory fee, I was text/called/emailed multiple times to confirm my appt but no mention of the extra charge. I'm all for helping out small businesses and chipping in extra during the pandemic but this almost seems unethical especially with the PPP loans for this specific issue around buying PPE and modified office space to keep safe. I called around and other dentists are not charging a similar fee.

I just had a wisdom tooth pulled by Dr Gulati. She made me feel extremely comfortable during the extraction and helped to calm my nerves. She even had me laughing. Wonderfully warm person and staff. I highly recommend visiting Downers Dental especially if you are anxious about dental work like I am.

Mislead on service, trying to use a coupon, service not provide and just took my money, trying to explain to them so that I can get my money back and Doctor always refused to speak with me, they so desperate to make money, watch out. I will definitely will check a better and professional office. THEY ARE A LOT OF GOOD DENTIST AROUND THAT ARE ACTUALLY PROFESSIONALS. Good luck if you schedule an appointment here
