Douglas L. Park, DDS Pediatric Dentistry - Pediatric dentist in Gresham, OR

According to an article on the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry website, 4050% of children 'will be affected by tooth decay by age five.' Such conditions can mean loss of school hours for a child and loss of work hours for parents. Taking a little time here and there to begin oral health training could save your child from needless suffering and save parents time and money.

Absolutely amazing staff from the front desk to the dental assistants to Dr Park. Everyone made my special needs son and I feel welcome and comfortable. The staff here know how to help a child who is not familiar with new situations feel at ease.

My daughter developed dental anxiety while at this dental office. Her first visit she loved the dentist; by the 3rd visit she would be in tears when I tell her she has a dental appt coming up. Back office staff was not accommodating and the doctor seemed cranky all the time. The fact that I wanted to go back and sit with my nervous toddler was a problem, when asked to use less polishing paste so my daughter doesn't get an upset stomach, that was also a problem. None of the back staff have the personality to be working with children. Feel much better that we left this place.

We had some anxiety going into the dentist with our 6 year old for the first time. The staff and the arcade game in the waiting room alleviated all the anxiety we had! It was an awesome experience and now my kid is actually excited to go back to the dentist!! Thank you everyone at Dr. Park's office for making this a great experience!

My son, who is 16, thought he might be outgrowing his pediatric dentist, Dr. Park. But after his visit today, during which he got 3 fillings, he changed his mind. He said that Dr. Park put on an "old school" cartoon for him and he had an awesome time. He said, Ow, once and doctor gave him more Novocain to make sure he was comfortable. He's sticking with this "kid dentist" until college!

Everyone at Douglas L. Park Pediatric Dentistry is so kind and good at what they do. They are gentle, patient, and my kids are very comfortable there. Dr. Park goes above and beyond to make sure his patients are taken care of and we are happy to have been referred to them.

We have been going to Dr Parks office for a handful of years and we had always had a good experience.. from the staff to Dr Park.. until yesterday. My daughter is 7 and it was her first time getting fillings and she was scared so I asked to go back with her. (They usually ask parents to wait in the waiting room.) she started tearing in the waiting room and I comforted her. We got called back into the room and she started crying a lot more out of fear. I was trying to comfort her. The dental assistant was really sweet and trying her best to comfort her as well but as soon as Dr Park came in the room he was impatient and acted like it was unbelievable a 7 year old would be crying. Let me remind you, it is her first time for a filling. I was taken back by his reaction because he had always seem really nice. She calmed down after the nitrous kicked in and he was able to give her fillings. While he was performing the fillings she moved her mouth a little and he again was impatient. I think by that time he could tell I was irritated by his attitude and impatience. After he was done he apologized because he "had to be stern". I told him it's okay as long as it's not extra. I think he realized he was a bit excessive after that because his attitude changed. I'm not sure why I didn't say more. But the more I think about it, I regret not saying more because he works in a field with children. He began with no patience at all. Not okay. We will be finding a different pediatric dentist. Also I wonder if this is even the first time he's been that way because I have never gone back with my kids besides when my daughter was 1.

So grateful for Dr. Park and his staff! We are going on vacation tomorrow and my 6 year old was complaining of a bad toothache. Kaiser couldn't get us in for days, which obviously wasn't going to work. Dr. Park's office was booked, but they made it work. They were all so friendly, informative and my son didn't even know they gave him a shot for numbing. It was so refreshing to see that customer service still exists! We are switching insurance soon and will be going back!
