Dr. Shawn Douglas is a longtime resident of Florida and is happy to be serving the community with excellent and friendly dental care. He is committed to maintaining healthy teeth and creating beautiful smiles.
Dr. Douglas graduated from the prestigious University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Dentistry. Following his training at UNC, Dr.Douglas completed an elective residency at the University of Florida. During this time, he focused on dental implants and performing full mouth makeovers.He has been practicing dentistry in the Lutz and Odessa communities since 2006.
In his personal life, Dr. Douglas and his wife, Jamie, enjoy waterskiing, biking, traveling, and playing with their dogs, Bella and Cassie.They are active members of Idlewild Baptist Church, where they regularly organize and participate in community services events.
Dr. Douglas continues to volunteer locally and internationally. Recently, he led a team of dentists on a trip to Bolivia where they provided free dental care to an underserved rural community. While there, Dr. Douglas had the opportunity to train South American dentists on the latest techniques in dentistry.
Education and Continuing EducationDr. Valentina Espinosa earned her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Miami in Coral Gables in 2010, and then completed dental school at the University of Florida in Gainesville in 2014. Then, she completed a year in an Advanced Education in General Dentistry program at the Medical University of South Carolina to further her dental knowledge and skills.
In the PracticeDr. Espinosa enjoys doing restorative dentistry and working in a family setting. She is proficient in fillings, crowns, bridges, partials, dentures, and implant restorations. Dr. Espinosa is a member of the Florida Dental Association and the West Pasco Dental Association.
Family and CommunityWhile in dental school, Dr. Espinosa met her husband, Dr. Shaun Young, who was also studying dentistry at the time. Dr. Espinosa worked in a private practice in Atlanta for two years while her husband completed his residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Emory University. After her husband graduated, they moved to the Tampa area and Dr. Espinosa began working for Dr. Robert Wolfenden in the fall of 2017.
Dr. Espinosa was born in Caracas, Venezuela, and lived there until she was seven years old. She then lived in Sao Paulo, Brazil for 3 years and then her family relocated to Weston, FL. Dr. Espinosa is fluent in English, Spanish, and Portuguese. Dr. Espinosa and Dr. Young have a 1 year old daughter named Alessandra. They enjoy spending time with family and friends on the weekends and traveling.
As a hygienist, Mary cleans teeth and provides dentaleducation to each patient. She has been in the dental field since 1977 and loveslearning new dental techniques from the dentists. Mary enjoys meeting newpeople every day and helping them attain beautiful, healthy smiles! She knowsthat patients will love coming to this practice!
As a dental assistant, Ann loves helping the people in the community. She knows that there is a diverse group of patients, where she can learn something new from them every day! She started working at the practice in2003 and cant imagine doing anything more rewarding. After work, Ann spends time with her husband and their two daughters. They love spending time outside with their horse and other pets.

I love this dentist Office. Everyone here is amazing. The front desks girls are sweet. The hygienists Mary and Layla are knowledgeable and gentle. The dentist are down to earth and always understanding of cost. They never recommend stuff I don't need. I have a lot experience with dentists that aren't honest like Monticello. They are Christian base dentist and you feel like your home when you walk in. Dr Valentino is a beautiful person inside and out. She has always been sentive to my nervousness at the dentist. I love her.

I have been going to this dental office for over 20 years, first off the office staff, and jana Excell a their jobs, and really care about the patients, always go above and beyond to meet my needs. Hygienist Gina is fantastic, again always goes above and beyond, her expertise and professionalism is second to none. I cannot say enough good things about the staff at Douglas Dentistry.

Always on time starting and finishing. If I arrive 5 or so minutes late, they work hard at making up the time. Top care after we checked other Dentist in the area.

The staff, dental hygienists, and dentists are knowledgeable, helpful, friendly, and don't BS you on what ever work you need or don't need on your teeth and gums. We live in Hudson and we quite a few dentists between us and Dr, Douglas office, but we prefer to travel the distance cause they are worth it.
