Being an orthodontist is more than shifting teeth and creating smiles: it involves building relationships that often go beyond doctor and patient. I love getting to know new people and discovering who they are. Each person is delightfully unique and brings new ideas and experiences to my life. Our conversations, and whatever we share as we work toward that persons best smile, enrich my world and make me a better person.

I love to joke with my younger patients, especially when they tell me about their various adventures, and I love it when they joke back! Its just as fulfilling to work with an adult, someone whos yearned for a beautiful smile for years: helping them realize that dream, and seeing how their self-confidence grows as a result, is incredibly rewarding!

Ive been practicing orthodontics since 1991 and feel that right now is the most exciting time to be in this specialty. Incredible advances in techniques, materials, and technologies mean more precise treatment, efficient care, and incredible, lasting results for patients!

Each year I complete many hours of continuing education, to stayabreast of new treatment options and care approaches. The more I know, the better care I am able to provide. I never mold my patients to a specific treatment approach; instead, I formulate a unique plan for each persons specific problems and personal considerations.

I was born and lived in Terre Haute, Indianabefore moving to Arkansas when I was in high school. My parents still live in Arkansas. Ive called Fayettevillehome since 2000. My wifeKellyis a nurse practitioner who works for Privia Medical Group in Peachtree City. Our household companion is our Maine Coon Cat, Maggie May.

When Im not in the office, I enjoy the outdoors, especially playing golf and relaxing at the beach or in the mountains. I like fly fishing, whether in Arkansas or North Carolina, and love watching sports, especially the Arkansas Razorbacks.

Throughout my practice career, we have focused on special needs children and schools that help them. Stepping Stones in Griffin was the first such place we worked with. Now were heavily involved with the Joseph Sams School, where Kelly serves on the board of directors.

I love working in a positive, laughter-filled office, where we create beautiful smiles! Its incredible to watch a person with low self-esteem, who barely smiles, transform into someone filled with confidence who smiles all the time! I take diagnostic records and offer chairside assistance during procedures. I also sterilize instruments, maintain our clinical and lab supplies, coordinate lab and diagnostic records, and fabricate retainers.I am married, havetwo daughters and two grandchildren. We also have a fur baby named BellaMyfavorite times are spent with friends and family. Im truly blessed.

I really enjoy getting to know each patient on a personal level:learning about their lives, interests, and activities. Since orthodontic care happens over a couple of years, and we see patients regularly, we have plenty of time to build a personal relationship with each person. Im involved with all aspects of patient care, from the beginning until the day the finished smile is revealed. I love helping my friends achieve smiles that transform their lives!

I enjoy talking and laughing with our patients. We serve an amazing community and each patient brings a lot of excitement and different experiences to our office. I assist with patient care from the day Dr. Kallis places the brackets to the day we remove them. Its so much fun seeing the transformation in their smiles.

I have lived in the Griffin area for 35 years and have two daughters. When I'm not wearing scrubs and discussing treatment options with patients, I am teaching fitness classes and enjoying time with my family and friends.

I am happy to be part of helping people achieve their goal of a healthy, beautiful smile! Its amazing to see what a difference straight teeth and a becoming smile makein each patients life. Watching each person become happier, more confident, and more outgoing never gets old! I help patients and families with their insurance, to ensurethey get the most from their benefits and filing and following up on the claims. I also handle the practices billing and accounts receivable.
