I graduated from the University of Florida in 1979 with a BS in Microbiology, and received my DMD from the University of Florida College of Dentistry in 1983. I have been married to my lovely wife, Ann, since 1984 and we have two children, Elizabeth and TJ. I enjoy golf, tennis, and working out to stay fit.
I come from a medical background. I grew up watching my dad practice medicine in an era without managed care. One of my most striking observations of him was that he had real relationships with his patients. He exemplified the virtues of caring for people and giving your best, and that led me to develop a practice philosophy very different from todays norm.
In my dental practice, the patient always comes first. I work my hardest to stay on schedule because I respect your personal time. I am a believer in education my own and yours so I stay current on the most up-to-date treatment modalities to help patientsmake fully informed decisions regarding their dental treatment options. I also believe in being accessible to my patients, so I provide my cell-phone number for after-hour emergencies.

I was born and raised in Cuba, where I attended dental school for three years. I have been working as a dental assistant in Miami since 2004 after earning my dental assistant and expanded duties certificates. I have enjoyed working every day as a dental assistant, especially since joining Dr. Deams team ten years ago. I love my job and enjoy smiling and talking with patients. I usually don't take the time to post reviews but Dr. Deam and his staff deserve all the praise given here because they made fixing a very stressful emergency tooth pain as easy and painless as possible. The staff was incredibly accommodating and fit me in despite the busy Christmas schedule. It was my first time visiting Dr Deam as I was just visiting for the holidays and I can not say enough positive things! He was very professional, took his time and even dedicated considerable time to teach me how to better floss my teeth with tips I had never heard of. He then went above and beyond by checking in on me later tonight to see how my tooth was progressing as he made every attempt to save it when most dentists would have given up. I recommend Dr Deam and his lovely staff 100 percent! Never thought I could say going to a dentist was a pleasure but Dr Deam made it so easy!

I can't say enough amazing things about Dr. Deam and the team he's assembled! I was referred to him by my now husband, back when we were dating and I was a recent NY transplant. It all starts with Idania who fronts the office and oversees (among many things I imagine) patient outreach/bookings and insurance/payments. She is not only professional, she is also warm, patient, and just a sweetheart all around! Dr. Deam is very thorough in his consultations, and he's always focused on the patient's best interest and on addressing their concerns/questions. One never feels rushed - he has a very calming effect. It's also clear that he's of top caliber and is highly knowledgable about dentistry and medicine at large (he and his team check for things like tongue cancer, blood pressure, etc). He's forward-thinking and has the latest technology in the office (e.g. a vibrating pain-free device to deliver anesthetic pre-filling; check out his site for other cool advances that I luckily have yet to have to use.) A quick nod to Yuliet who assists Dr. Deam in procedures - she's also super friendly and great at her job! Finally, Lily, who's their hygienist, is awesome (to follow the general theme of Dr. Deam and his staff!) She remembers patients, their concerns (for me it's tooth sensitivity, so we use topical anesthetic), and progress from the last visit. She, like the rest of the staff, seem to care first and foremost about the patient.

Excellent dental work, from the cleanings to my crown! Dr. Deam listens to his patients, is conservative in his treatment plans, and always thoughtful in consideration of what plan will work best for the patient. I highly recommend him.
