Dr. Dougherty practiced general dentistry for three years before deciding to follow her passion for orthodontics. She attended Indiana University School of Dentistry and completed her orthodontic residency in 2009, receiving her Master of Science in Dentistry and her certificate in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics.
I am so blessed to be able to create smiles as a profession! I love working with others to enhance a patients self esteem, all while building lasting relationships. This specialty allows me to grow with my patients I love it!

Dr. Stefanie Dougherty grew up in Dieterich, Illinois and graduated from Dieterich High School in 1997. Her passion for orthodontics began in second grade, after she had her first visit with an orthodontist.
After high school, Dr. Dougherty was accepted into the combined baccalaureate in Biology/Doctorate in Dentistry Program at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. The rigorous program allowed Dr. Dougherty to complete her pre-professional curriculum at SIUE in three years and obtain her Bachelor of Science, cum laude, by SIUE following the first year of her professional dental curriculum at Southern Illinois University School of Dental Medicine in Alton, IL. She completed her training and received her DMD, cum laude, in 2004.

My daughter had a wonderful experience at Dougherty Orthodontics. She felt well informed at every appointment. All of the staff are incredibly kind, and Dr. Dougherty is honestly the nicest person. To top it off my daughters smile is GORGEOUS!! Her teeth are perfection.

I got braces from here and it was amazing. they were really focused and even gave me a VERY nice electric toothbrush for free. They also gave me some instructions that were really helpful. They were really kind and amazing. I'd highly recommend this place for braces.

This place is amazing. Dr. Dougherty and her staff made my ortho experience amazing. I came from California with Invisalign and they took me under their wing, made sure my teeth were was perfect. Dr. Dougherty said she was a perfectionist, and she wasn't wrong, my teeth essentially evolved. And she hooked me up with braces! It was honestly bitter sweet taking off my braces and never needing to come back but I'm grateful for their efforts and care. I'm moving back to California at the end of the year but if I could have my daughter come back here when she's older, I definitely would. Thank you so much!

I cannot say enough wonderful things about this place! from the minute you walk into the door to the time you leave you will feel at home and comfortable. My daughter was only eight years old when she had her first set of braces put on and that can be a scary experience OR it can be a great one... She definitely had a great experience! It's such a cool and trendy place and you can't help but feel like you have friends when you go there!

The dental assistants/orthodontists are always so nice and are fun to talk to when you visit. It's a very fun place and makes up for the fact that you have to put on braces.

I don't write reviews ever, but I will for Dr. Dougherty and her team. They, Natalie, Kiersten and Stephanie made it so I looked forward to each appointment. The environment they created is great, they listen to you and always had a positive attitude. I got Invisalign and my teeth are perfect now. I recommend them to everyone, kids and adults. I promise you there is no orthodontics team better in St. Louis.

An absolutely amazing team at Dougherty Orthodontics! They've been flexible and caring with all my ortho needs. I went to a new Dentist this year and even he raved about Stephanie and how great her work is! I'm almost done with my treatments and it actually makes me sad I won't be able to keep coming here! Dougherty Orthodontics goes out if their way to serve their patients. My son had a bracket issue and was unable to make it to any appointments, someone came to his school to fix it instead!!
