Dr. Doug Takeuchi grew up in the San Jose area and graduated from Leigh High School. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of the Pacific in Stockton, California. Dr. Takeuchi received a Bachelor of Science in Sciences from the University of California, San Francisco School of Dentistry and his Doctor of Surgery degree from the University of California, San Francisco School of Dentistry (which had been recognized as the second highest ranked school in the nation.) Dr. Takeuchi has received several awards of recognition in the field including: honors from the American College of Dentists and the Quintessence Award for Outstanding Achievement in Restorative Dentistry.
Dr. Takeuchi has been married to Ellen since 1994. They have 2 teenage children, Matthew and Jillian. Dr Takeuchi is an avid football fan and enjoys skiing and scuba diving. When not in the office Dr. Takeuchi spends time cheering his kids on in high school football, track, competitive cheer and stunt. Dr Takeuchi is proud to serve the San Jose community where he grew up and where he and Ellen have chosen to raise their family.

He is definitely the worst dentist I have ever been to. Would give 0 stars if I could. I don't recommend anyone to go to Takeuchi's office. He has some serious anger management issues. Doug has a very condescending attitude and does things how he wants, refusing to listen to patient's concerns. He tried to fix one tooth and ended up damaging two other ones. Don't ever go to this office, you will regret it. Go to this office if you want all of your teeth to be destroyed and fall out. Due to COVID, he is finding ways to make more money by fixing something, but damaging everything else.

Dr.T is the best! His staff is just as great! They are friendly and provide some of the best customer service I have ever seen at a dentist! I am NOT an easy customer, my teeth are bad and my dental habits are.... not the best haha. I am super picky and always late. They are never anything but amazing even when its my 5th call of the day with yet another request for more paperwork for my insurance. Speaking of insurance they make it so easy, they aren't a preferred provider for most insurance but they do alllllll the paperwork and are geniuses with working with your coverage and budget to get you exactly what you need! As far as dentistry skills? Dr. T is the best dentist I have ever had and like I said I have bad teeth, my teeth are more fillings than natural teeth at this point and he makes sure He takes care of me, fixing things the right way, helping me understand what he does and why and how I can take care of my teeth. He uses the newest technology when it is needed but doesn't over use it just to over charge.

He is the BEST. Talented, professional, kind, patient, fair, good suggestions, compassionate. Need I say more!!!!?!!!! They make one feel welcomed and well cared for. I have nothing negative to say. Dr. Takeuchi is an outstanding dentist with an excellent staff. My family has been under Dr. Takeuchi's care since the beginning of his practice. You can depend on his care, and the care of his Dental Hygienist. I highly recommend Dr. Takeuchi.

Dr Takeuchi is BY FAR the BEST dentist you can ever have! He is gentle passionate and super knowlagble in all things Dentist! Until I met Dr T. I had to take Valium before I could even get through the front door to a dentist's office. He is not the cheapest but uses HIGH end products so his work lasts longer. There is No 2nd to Dr. Takeuchi!

I've been Dr. Takeuchi's patient for about 7 years. He is great: very thorough, provides detailed explanations of the issues he discovered and outlines treatment options, and is always friendly and willing to answer questions. Everyone in his office is a pleasure to work with. There are also various sedation options available to reduce patient anxiety. I used to hate going to the dentist; now it's a non-issue (never thought I'd say that).

The best Dental practice I have used in my 20 years in the Bay area. They make sure the job is done right, but have always been the most affordable as well. I feel like they have pride in caring for customers. I even moved my whole family here, and they have had great service as well.

Dr. Takeuchi is just a great dentist. He is very friendly, professional and up to date on the latest technology. Dr. Takeuchi and his staff work hard to ensure you have a pain free visit and that you understand what is going on with your teeth. The front office staff are very friendly and helpful. Great with kids!!!
