Dr. Chadwick grew up in San Angelo, TX, and has been practicing dentistry in private practice and community health since 2006. He attended Angelo State University where he received his undergraduate degree in Chemistry and Biology. He received his DDS at the University of Texas Dental Branch at Houston (UTDB). Dr. Chadwick and his wife Tracy, a Dental Hygienist, met while both attending UTDB. After practicing dentistry in Houston for several years, Doug and Tracy welcomed their daughter Grace into the world. It was after the birth of their daughter that they decided a change of pace was in order. Having fallen in love with the Pacific Northwest during a family vacation, they knew Oregon was where they wanted to raise their daughter. Dr. Chadwick and his family moved to Newport in the summer of 2011. In 2014, Dr. Chadwick took ownership of the current practice, which has served patients on the Oregon Coast and surrounding areas for more than three decades.
While attending Angelo State, Dr. Chadwick was the President of the American Chemical Society (ASU Chapter), presenting at the national meetings in San Francisco and San Diego. He was also the recipient of the National Science Foundation summer research grant at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Dr. Chadwick is currently a member of the American Dental Association, the Oregon Dental Association, and the Southern Willamette Dental Society. He received postgraduate training in oral surgical techniques including implants, wisdom teeth removal, and bone grafting at Dr. Gordon Christiansen's facility in Provo, UT. He is certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and enjoys attending a variety of courses to continue his education. Dr. Chadwick also currently serves on the Board of Trustees for Pacific Communities Health District Foundation.
Dr. Chadwick and his family take pleasure in spending time outdoors, exploring the beautiful state of Oregon with their dogs, and traveling. They love calling Newport home and look forward to many more years here on the gorgeous Oregon Coast.
Destini is one of Dr. Chadwick's fabulous Registered Dental Hygienists. Destini attended Lane Community College in Eugene, OR, where she graduated with her degree in Dental Hygiene. A seasoned clinician, she is extremely knowledgeable about dentistry and patients appreciate her gentle chairside manner. Destini really enjoys getting to know her patients and giving them the knowledge and tools to control and maintain their oral health.
Lori is one of Dr. Chadwick's wonderful chairside dental assistants and has an extensive roll managing daily patient care. She is a very dedicated and valued team member. Lori has worked as a Dental Assistant in Lincoln County for over 25 years. You can count on her to answer dental questions in an educated coherent manner. Lori's positive upbeat energy makes her a joy to be around.
Lori and her wonderful husband of 30 years raised 3 amazing children here on the Oregon Coast. When away from the office, Lori loves spending time outdoors and visiting her new grandbaby as often as possible.
Venus is one of Dr. Chadwick's amazing dental assistants. She has extensive dental experience, and has been a chairside assistant in Lincoln County for 18 years. Venus cares for her patients in a friendly and caring fashion, while her calm demeanor puts everyone at ease. She regularly attends courses to continue her dental education and knowledge.
Megan attended Carrington College, where she graduated with a degree in Dental Hygiene. She really enjoys building rapport with her patients and helping them attain optimal oral health. Megan puts patients at ease with her calm demeanor and sense of humor.
Since his mom is a retired hygienist, Andy told us he basically grew up in a dental office and naturally gravitated toward the field as an adult. He may coordinate your treatment plan, explain your insurance benefits, or be fine-tuning a business process behind the scenes, but its all with the same goal in mind: helping you get the dental care you need with Doug Chadwick, DDS.
Since childhood, Andy always had a sense that he lived *a little too far* from the ocean. After stints in the Portland metro, Willamette and Rogue River Valleys, Andy set sail for the open waters of the Yaquina Bay. Outside of work, theres not much he doesnt do. Homebrewing and assorted fabrication take up a chunk of time, while general adventuring rounds out the rest.
Hilary continues to advance her career with us, progressing from Patient Care Coordinator to Insurance Verification Specialist and Social Media Maven. She was new to the world of dentistry when she bravely accepted the career change challenge in April of 2018 and quickly became an indispensable member of our practice. Maintaining her enthusiasm from day one, Hilary immerses herself in a long list of training related to the riveting ins and outs of dental insurance. Hilary still helps at the front desk where her customer service expertise ensures patients have the best experience possible. She is always a joy to be around!
Outside of the office, Hilary is a bit of a renaissance woman. She studied music at a collegiate level and enjoys playing guitar. She is also a fabulous photographer and can often be found exploring new nature spots with her camera and finding that perfect unexpected shot. Hilary loves spending time with her dog River.
Next time you call or come into our practice, youll likely have the pleasure of meeting our newest team member, Jeni. She comes to us from the medical realm of care coordination, but she is rapidly absorbing the knowledge required to help guide our valued patients through their dental treatment plans. Jeni brings a calm warmth to the front office that puts everyone at ease. We are thrilled to have her on board.
Before relocating in 2019, Jeni and her family enjoyed their outdoor lifestyle in Cody, Wyoming, where they were only minutes from Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks and the scenic bluffs of Montanas Beartooth Highway. Jeni and her husband have a son and three daughters as well as several furry companions: 3 cats and 3 dogs! If you look out on the bay, be sure to wave to the Tackle Buster or Surfrider, where Jenis husband, Soon-to-be-Captain Chad, is likely hauling in todays catch.
If Alison seems immediately familiar, it could be that youve seen her numerous places about town. She has orbited Newport and the Willamette Valley her entire life and maintains a couple of customer-facing jobs in addition to her contributions to patient care here. Its conceivable you could see her first thing in the morning handing you coffee, coaching you in a spin class an hour later, then greeting you with a smile when you come in to see your friendly dentist!
Kris is one of Dr. Chadwick's very professional and knowledgeable Registered Dental Hygienists. Kris has been serving patients in the practice for 20 years. She has extensive experience in providing preventive and therapeutic dental care to patients of all ages with varying needs. Kris regularly attends courses in order to provide exemplary service and the most current information available. Kris is committed to providing individualized quality care in an environment centered on the comfort of her patients.
