Wisdom teeth removal is necessary to protect mouths from crowding, infection, and tooth damage. Its best to have them removed between the ages of 14-21 when the bone is still soft and recovery is quicker. We offer easy and anxiety-free wisdom teeth removal.

Most choose to have their wisdom teeth removed as teenagers or young adults, typically between ages 17-25. By around age 18, the jaw is finished growing, so your dentist will have insight on if the newly emerging teeth will cause problems.

Teenagers and young adults benefit from having their wisdom teeth removal surgery earlytheir recovery times are much faster. Young peoples bone and root structure are not fully formed yet, making the surgery simple, healing faster, and stopping problems before they start.

Before the surgery, patients will be given moderate sedation anesthesia through an IV. During the procedure, there is no pain, the patient will be comfortably asleep, and they will not remember the extraction.

During surgery, the dentist will make a small incision to remove the tooth, clean the area of debris, and sometimes stitch the area closed. They will then place gauze over the surgical site to help the blood clot.

We utilize PRP (platelet-rich plasma) therapy during extractions and oral surgery to accelerate healing and recovery time. This treatment uses platelets drawn from a small quantity of your blood taken during the procedure. PRP is a safe and effective therapy that promotes faster tissue regeneration and reduces your chance of dry socket by 80%.

Once the procedure is complete, a driver must take the patient home. During the first day or two post-surgery, its important to rest as much as possible and promote healing. If possible, take off a day or two from work or school.

After surgery, patients often experience some pain, swelling, and bleeding. We offer Exparel, which is a non-opioid anesthetic that lasts for several days. This will help dull pain and keep the surgical area numb during the first few days of healing.

Anxiety or fear is one of the most common reasons many people miss out on the critical oral health care they need to maintain healthy teeth and gums. We offer Moderate IV Sedation to make any procedure pain and stress-free.

Moderate IV Sedation starts with the quick and comfortable delivery of a sedative drug through your bloodstream. Unlike nitrous oxide or pills, this method allows the dentist to adjust your sedation levels and ensure your controlled comfort throughout the procedure.

When under moderate IV sedation, you will breathe on your own and feel incredibly relaxed. You may doze lightly but will be easy to wake up with a gentle nudge. During your dental treatment, you will likely be awake and responsive. Still, you will feel minimal pain or anxiety, will not remember the procedure once you wake up, and you will be comfortable during even an extended procedure.

Dental anxiety is a powerful force that can prevent you from getting the treatment you need. At keith + associates, your comfort is our top priority. Our dentists have received extensive training to provide Moderate IV Sedation during your procedure if needed.

Porcelain veneers are thin shells of ceramic that bond directly to the front surfaces of the teeth. They are an ideal choice for improving your smile and have become increasingly popular due to their simplicity and versatility.

When bonded to the teeth, the ultra-thin porcelain veneers are virtually undetectable and highly resistant to coffee, tea, or even cigarette stains. For strength and appearance, their resemblance to healthy, white tooth enamel is unsurpassed by other restorative options.

Before Dr. Bill was a dentist, he was a college graduate with dreams of carving a path independent of his father. He graduated from San Antonios Trinity University in 2008 with degrees in finance and accounting, immediately pursuing a career in both fields. A short time later, he was in the real estate business, selling, managing, and owning houses. However, the soon-to-be dentist was still due for some soul-searching. One career change later, Bill Keith proudly emerged from the UMKC School of Dentistry in 2017, ready to follow in his fathers footsteps.

Dr. Bill purchased the practice in 2018 and immediately demonstrated a knack for the business of dentistry. In 2019, he spearheaded a significant Keith + Associates dentistry renovation project. He improved the number of operatories in the practice from 13 to 20 and completely overhauled general operations. Thanks to Dr. Bill, the office adopted a technology-centric approach for doctors, hygienists, and patients alike. The office opened in April 2019 as a proud combination of Bills business background and cutting-edge dental practices.

Dr. Bill continues to further his skills as a general dentist for the well-being of his patients. His hard work inspires the associates at the practice to follow his lead. Implants, conscious sedation, and wisdom teeth removal are a handful of his areas of focus. One of his favorite installations, The X-Guide, assists Dr. Bill with efficient, effective implant placement. This is just one example of Dr. Bills end goal: to offer patients a one-stop shop for all their dental needs.

Dr. Bill is actively involved in his community. He enjoys working with Kids TLC, where he assists kids and families experiencing health challenges, as well as The Pet Grooming Project, which teaches struggling parents pet grooming as a means to provide for their families. Bill helped establish dental care for students he works with, and networks with dentists throughout the Kansas City area to create a system of dental support for his students.

Dr. Bill is an avid Kansas Jayhawks, Royals, and Chiefs fan in his free time. Bill and his wife, Ashley, live in Leawood, KS, and are proud foodies. They also enjoy playing golf, raising their son Wilson, and traveling to new places.
