Dr. Carl was born and raised in York, PA and graduated from Eastern York County High School. He graduated from Juniata College in 1977 with a Bachelor of Science in Biology, and received his dental training at the University of North Carolina School of Dentistry. He opened his dental office in 1981 and practiced side-by-side with his father, Dr. Ed Bowser, Jr. In 1992 Dr. Carl moved his practice to its present modern and spacious location.

Dr. Carl is a member of the American Dental Association, the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, and the Pennsylvania Dental Association. He is a past president of the York County Dental Society and is a Fellow of the International College of Dentistry. He continues to attend seminars and workshops in order to further advance the dental health and comfort of the patients of Bowser Dentistry. He is also a past associate professor at Temple Dental School.

Dr. Brian grew up in York, played soccer and tennis for Dallastown High School and graduated in 1999. He then attended Bucknell University, majoring in Physics. During the summer between his sophomore and junior years, Dr. Brian worked at Bowser Dentistry as a chairside assistant. After only a few days working with Dr. Carl, he knew that he wanted to be a dentist and quickly re-arranged his course schedule for the following year. Upon graduation from Bucknell, Dr. Brian attended Temple University Dental School and graduated in 2007 with his Doctorate of Dental Medicine.

Dr. Robert is a York native born in 1983. Having graduated from Dallastown in 2002, he spent 4 years at Juniata College getting a degree in Organic Chemistry. Dentistry became his focus after freshman year when he assisted for Dr. Carl during the summer. He then spent 4 years at Temple Dental School culminating his academic years earning his DMD in May of 2010. Since graduation, Dr. Robert has completed several continuing education courses and has found a niche and a love for working with children. He has also completed training courses through the AAGPO giving Dr. Robert confidence in treating most of the orthodontic cases his patients present with. He also performs clear aligner therapy, like Invisalign, through SureSmile.

Dr. Robert has served as an Associate Board Member for the Susan Byrnes Health Education Center and has found great joy in serving the community through dentistry. He is a member of the American Academy of Orthodontics for the General Practitioner, and a member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, the American Dental Association, and the Pennsylvania Dental Association.

Dr. Robert married his wife 10 days after dental school graduation, and started the production of the next generation of possible Bowser dentists shortly after. When Dr. Robert is not in the office, hes probably spending his time either coaching or simply watching his 3 sons. They provide a lot of entertainment.

For Dr. Currie, his dental story began as a young child when he was influenced by a close family friend. Through that early interaction, he experienced how dentistry can be so much more than a doctor-patient relationship. It can be friendly, welcoming and personal. It can be a relationship based on trust.

Education & Credentials Dr. Currie received his BA from Hope College in Holland, Michigan, and his MA from Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, Michigan, in 1973. In 1977, he completed his training to become a Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) at the University of Pennsylvania, where he was a member of both the Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society and the Eta Sigma Sigma Honorary Matthew Cryer Society, a recognition given to the top 10 students in each class.

As a member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, Dr. Currie has been recognized for his ongoing commitment to continuing education, meticulous attention to detail and dedication to providing outstanding smile makeovers. Cosmetic dentistry is a passion for Dr. Currie. The opportunity to impact the way a patient feels when they look in the mirror is one of the most rewarding privileges. He also trained in cosmetic dentistry at the Seattle Institute for Advanced Dental Education and the Las Vegas Institute.

Giving Back to the Community Dr. Currie says it best: My commitment to the community isnt merely as a dentist but also as a concerned, involved citizen. I live here, have raised my children here, and take part in many different charitable organizations and projects. I feel completely invested in this town both professionally and personally, and the people are the reward.

Dr. Currie has been married for over 45 years and has two sons, a daughter-in-law and four beautiful granddaughters. His son, Chris, also plays an active role in the practice. When Dr. Currie is not treating patients, you may find him finessing his fly-fishing skills, enjoying one of the picturesque golf courses in town or playing pickle ball.

Talenia has been a dental hygienist for almost 10 years. Her interest in dental hygiene was rooted in childhood during her early years in Vietnam. It saddened her to witness many people including herself and family members suffering from the lack of dental care and dental health awareness. Now, with the knowledge, training, skills, and passion for helping others, Talenia has turned her childhood dreams into reality.

Talenia earned her Dental Hygiene degree from the Pennsylvania College of Technology in 2009. In 2010, she advanced her practice by obtaining licensure in the administration of local anesthesia from the Harrisburg Area Community College. In December of 2016, Talenia joined our team at Bowser Dentistry as a temporary employee to assist with hygiene patients. A few months after, she became a permanent addition to our practice and Bowser Dentistry became her second home.

Talenia is married to her husband, Phong, and has two lovely children, Davin and Heidi. Outside of work, Talenia enjoys cooking, shopping, bowling, playing tennis, traveling and most of all spending time with her family.

After dental assisting for 18 years, Sharon graduated from Harrisburg Area Community College with an Associates in Science degree in May 2009 and joined Bowser Dentistry in July of 2010. Sharon Enjoys travelling with her husband, hiking, photography, geneology and playing with her grandchildren.

Nikki is born and raised in York County. She became interested in dentistry in high school while shadowing at her dentists office. She graduated from Allegany Community College in Maryland in 1991 with her Associates degree in Dental Hygiene. Nikki finds dentistry interesting because it allows her to establish a rapport with patients and build lasting relationships. In her spare time, she enjoys yoga, playing golf with her husband Doug, or going to her childrens sporting events.

Alisha has worked in the dental field for 20 years. She first worked as a dental assistant and graduated from Penn College in 2000 as a dental hygienist. Alisha joined the Bowser team in 2016. Her hobbies include gardening, cooking, horses and spending time outdoors with her husband and animals.

Beth has been working in the dental field since 1978. She worked for 11 years as a dental assistant and in 1989 moved into dental hygiene. Beth has been a member of the Bowser Team since 1996. She enjoys hiking, cooking and reading.

Heather graduated from Harrisburg Area Community College in 2008 with certification in Dental Assisting and Expanded Function Dental Assisting. Her interest in dentistry was generated by listening and watching her mother (our assistant Becky). Heather joined Bowser Dentistry in 2003. Her hobbies include kayaking, golfing, baking, gardening, and spending time with her husband and 2 sons.

Becky has been a dental assistant at Bowser Dentistry since 1984. Working in dentistry has allowed her time to raise her family and now enjoy her grandchildren. In her free time she enjoys decorating, cooking and working on her golf game.

Karen assisted in a dental office 2 years before graduating from York Vo-Techs dental assisting program in 1971. She started her career with Dr. Rizzo prior to Dr. Johnessee who joined the team shortly after her. Karen has worked her entire career from that point on with Dr. J and now with the Bowsers. This has given Karen 40+ years of experience assisting! Outside of work, Karen spends her time with her son Shane, gardening, cooking, and exercising if she can.

Melanie has been working in the dental field for 28 years. She is Certified by the State of Pennsylvania in Radiology, is a member of the American Dental Assistants Association and the Pennsylvania Dental Assistants Association. In 2008 Melanie completed the Expanded Function Dental Assisting Program at Harrisburg Community College. In her spare time, Melanie enjoys reading, cooking and trapshooting.

Ally graduated from YTI Careen Institute in February 2009 with a diploma in dental assisting. She also has been certified by the state of Pennsylvania in radiology. She first joined the Bowser Team during an externship for YTI at the end of 2008 and joined the team with a permanent position soon after she graduated. Ally has since moved into office administration but still uses her assisting skills on a regular basis. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and dogs hiking, kayaking and camping.

Tiffany started working in the dental field as an assistant in 1995. She has a certificate in dental assisting from York County School of Technology and is Pennsylvania certified in Radiology. Her interest in dentistry started when she was a patient for a friend who was in dental hygiene school. In 2005 she joined the Bowser Team. Her knowledge of the clinical side of dentistry is a valuable asset in the administration office. In addition to her everyday administrative duties, Tiffany handles a large portion of patient check-in and scheduling. Tiffany enjoys shopping, travelling and spending time with her family.

Cathy is a York native and graduate of Dallastown High School. She joined the Bowser Team in march 2018 and has a background in business. She is the New Patient Coordinator, welcoming new patient to our practice. Cathy enjoys travelling and spending time with her family.

Holly attended Consolidated School of Business in York. She graduated in 1998 with an associates degree in travel, tourism, and office administration. She joined dentistry in 2007 working for Dr. Johnessee at the front desk. Holly has 3 children, Landon, Addison, and Kaylyn along with 2 furry babies, CC and Hudson. Together they keep her quite busy, but when there is time she enjoys taking motorcycle rides with husband John.

Belinda has been working in the dental field since 1986. She earned her certificate in dental assisting in 1986 from the Lancaster county school of Technology and is certified by the State of Pennsylvania in Radiology. As Belindas enthusiasm grew for dentistry, she enrolled at Harrisburg Community College and completed the Expanded Functions Dental Assistant program in 2002. She is a member of the American Dental Assistants Association and the Pennsylvania Dental Assistants Association. She and her husband, Shane, Live in Red Lion with their daughter.

Lisa has lived in York all of her life and has worked in dentistry since 1985. She has an accounting degree from YBI and earned her Certified Dental Practice Management Associates degree in 2000. Her primary focus is patient accounts, insurance management and administrative responsibilities. Lisa enjoys leisure time kayaking, cooking, gardening and reading. She and her husband Paul have 2 grown children and are parents to Kali, their German Shepherd.

Mimi received her BS in accounting and statistics from Juniata College. She worked in hospital statistics, public accounting, and was the practice bookkeeper before becoming an official team member as an office manager in 1991. Mimis interests include tennis, golf, reading, swimming and boating. She is thrilled to be working so closely with her husband and sons.

In 1924, a young dentist, fresh out of school, started a dental practice in the parlor of his parents home in York, Pennsylvania. Little did he know, but Dr. Edward J. Bowser, Sr. would start a history of high quality preventive care dentistry that lives on to this day. Dr. Carl Bowser joined his father, Dr. Edward J. Bowser, Jr, in practice in 1981. Since that time, Dr. Carl has worked diligently to build one of the finest dental practices in York county and the surrounding areas. Dr. Carls sons, Dr. Brian Bowser and Dr. Robert Bowser, both grew up around dentistry and spent many weekend hours roaming the halls of their fathers office. It comes as no surprise, given their family history, that they both decided to attend dental school and become dentists. Dr. Brian joined the practice in 2007, Dr. Robert joined the practice in 2010 and Dr. Currie joined in 2021.
