Dr. Guebert is a native of Steeleville, IL and a graduate of Southern Illinois University School of Dental Medicine. Prior to dental school he received his bachelors degree in biology from the University of Illinois. Dr. Guebert and his wife Barb chose to make Herrin their home because their roots run deep in Southern Illinois. Southern Illinois is a great place to live and we are happy that our kids grew up near their grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Growing up in a family of five boys, Dr. Guebert recalls always being busy with basketball and baseball teams. That connection has stayed a large part of his life. His favorite pastimes remain a variety of sporting activities with his family. He stays active in sports by keeping score and statistics at the Herrin High School football and boys and girls basketball games. He also enjoys spending time hunting and taking care of his lawn.
As a dentist, Dr. Guebert is thankful that he can make a difference in his patients lives. I love helping people achieve smiles that are healthy, functional, and beautiful. I am extremely honored to know that my work can be life changing for someone; whether it is relieving pain or anxiety, allowing someone to smile with confidence, or simply helping someone to enjoy eating again.
Dr. Guebert is a member and former president of the Southern Illinois Dental Society. He is also a member of the Illinois State Dental Society, American Dental Association, Pride Institute of Dental Practice Management, and GROWS Implant Study Group. Dr. Guebert has a strong commitment to staying up-to-date with the newest advances, technologies, and changes in the world of dentistry. Because dentistry is a field that is constantly changing and developing, Dr. Guebert and his team frequently attend continuing education courses and conferences.
Deannas favorite part about being a hygienist is getting to know her patients and helping them improve their smile. The most exciting part of dentistry for me deals with aesthetics. Teeth whitening, all-porcelain crowns, veneers, and bonding can dramatically improve a persons smile. Deanna enjoys spending her free time with her family, caring for her pets, and enjoying the summer sun.
Jens outgoing personality is just what our patients need to feel comfortable and motivated to take care of their smile. Im a people person at heart so I naturally enjoy the time spent getting to know our patients and making them feel at home. It is great catching up with our patients at their recall visits while still providing a valuable service. Most of Jens free time is spent with activities involving her three amazing daughters.
Debbies favorite quote is from Martin Charnin: Youre never fully dressed without a smile. Helping patients achieve a healthy smile is Debbies primary professional goal. Debbie says that one of the most rewarding aspects of her career has been patient interaction. I strive to develop a rapport with my patients so that I may provide the best care possible and effectively educate our patients. Debbie and her husband enjoy spending time with their family and whitewater kayaking in Southeast Missouri and North Carolina.
Amandas cheerful disposition puts her patients at ease and her proficiency in both assisting and hygiene enables our office to offer more flexibility in accommodating our patients busy schedules. Having the opportunity to experience both sides of dentistry means that I get to see patients in both settings and get to know them even better! These personal relationships go a long way to relieving any anxiety a patient may have. Amanda and her husband enjoy traveling, going to St. Louis Blues games, and especially love spending time with their little girl.
Haylis warm and compassionate heart instantly reassures our patients. One of my favorite things is being able to form relationships with patients of all ages. Helping them feel comfortable with their smile is an added bonus! Hayli recently took courses to expand her knowledge in dental assisting in order to be able to perform additional services to our patients! In Haylis spare time, she enjoys being outdoors with her husband and playing with their dog, Milo.
As the office manager, Barb spends most of her day behind the scenes taking care of business operations and making sure that the office runs smoothly. She is happiest though when she spends time with our patients. In my role as treatment coordinator I enjoy listening to our patients and then discussing with them all of the available treatment options so that together we can create a customized plan that is right for them. She and Dr. Guebert are married and have three children. In her time away from the office she loves doing home improvement projects, quilting, gardening, and spending time with family and friends.
