Dr. Hindman is a Sioux City native. He attended Heelan High School and graduated from Briar Cliff University with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. Dr. Hindman attended the University of Iowa College of Dentistry where he earned his Doctorate of Dental Surgery.
Following graduation, he entered active duty service in the United States Air Force and completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry Residency at Offutt Air Force Base in Bellevue, Nebraska. Dr. Hindman was then assigned to Ellsworth Air Force Base near Rapid City, South Dakota where he served as the Deputy Dental Flight Commander and Dental Infection Preventionist in addition to full time patient care.
In January 2020, Dr. Hindman completed a week-long course in dental infection control hosted by the Organization for Safety, Asepsis, and Prevention (OSAP) and spearheaded his dental clinics effort to facilitate safe patient care during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Donas just do it attitude can be attributed to her family. Her mother was a stay-at-home mom a steady, always there, resilient woman. Her father was a traveling Yellow Pages salesman. When he came home for the weekends, Dona was by his side. Saturday and Sunday, she went to work with her dad, which meant actually cutting and pasting ads with rubber cement glue. Their strong bond continued when he bought the building next to her practice and opened his own phone business. Later, when the building she was renting went up for sale, her dad bought that building too. Her mother took care of her two children, Amanda and Tim, so Dona could oncentrate on dentistry.
Now with my adult children, I understand how fortunate I was and how important it was to have that support, she says. The parental and extended family support she received made it possible for her to succeed and to find a balance of work and personal life.
When Dona moved her practice to her current location on Sergeant Road, her dad followed her, using the basement for his business. (She didnt charge him rent and he also became the janitor and took care of the building.) Three years ago, at the age of 91, he passed away. It was hard for Dona to return to her office. He wasnt there anymore, greeting her as Doctor daily. The passing of her proud and supportive father left a large hole in her personal and professional life.
And still, her fathers legacy impacts her work today. She is honored to have inherited his hard work ethic and love your job mentality. In her 39 years of practicing in Sioux City, she has developed relationships with her patients, but she believes in helping them beyond dental care. With her extensive medical knowledge, Dona is an advocate for their full health care.
Dona has traveled extensively to continue her education. In 2013 she received her Masters from the Academy of General Dentistry. First, she received her Fellowship, which meant 500 hours of classes followed by a rigorous exam. Next up was her Mastership, which focuses on all the disciplines, with 1,100 hours. She has also received the Standard Accreditation for Laser Treatments and is working on her Advanced Accreditation. Her perseverance has led to her to becoming a respected member of the American Dental Association, the Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, the Academy of Laser Dentistry and the Special Care in Dentistry Organization.

I cannot speak highly enough about the experience I had at Dr. Dona Prince's office. Each interaction was calming, informative and timely. I deeply appreciated the fluidity in the office. They work as a team to make sure all needs are met. I was treated as apart of that team and my opinions were honored in the final product. Lastly, the technology used to create my veneer was top-notch. A tool, a bit larger than a pen, was used to take images of my mouth. From there, they created my veneer right next to me, helping me visualize the end product. The tooth was printed, placed and I was on my way in less than four hours. It was a really cool experience. I highly recommend Dr. Dona Prince and her staff for any of your aesthetic dentistry needs.

Several years ago, I found myself in need of a great deal of dental work. A lifelong fear of the dentist got me to that point, and the prospects of having to spend hours facing that fear was daunting. Finding Dr. Prince was a God send. She has fixed my smile, and cured me of my fear! I have never felt like just a patient... no judgement from her, just a comittment to help and make me better. She is a tremendous doctor, and an even better human being. Her assistant Kam could not be praised enough either - another amazing person who offers care on a level that every dental assistant on the planet could learn from. Terri, Tiffani... just fantastic people. I could not recommend Dr. Prince and her team more! So glad I found them!

We happened to both get in on the same day! Our hygienist was Jena and she was soooo sweet! She walked me through everything she was doing as she did it. The dentist, Dr. Hindman, was very nice. The whole experience was comfortable for my husband and myself. They have the coolest technology that scans your teeth so you are able to see your teeth on a screen and they can point out areas of concern, gum health, etc. Continuing education and the latest technology in dentistry is super important to me, so I'm glad we found a new dental home with both!
