Dr Joseph Simonetti grew up in West Hempstead, New York and attended the University of Hartford where he was the first student to be selected to dental school after college. He graduated from the University of West Virginia School of Dentistry in 1973. Soon after, he partnered with Dr Robert Teisch and they opened a new office at 117 West Main St, East Islip in 1978. Dr Joe was a mentor to one young patient in particular, Robert Domozych, who went to dental school and eventually became a partner in the practice. Soon later, Roberts brother Richard joined the practice, followed by Dr Joes son, Scott.
In 2006 the practice of Simonetti and Domozych proudly moved next door to our brand-new office at its present location at 127 West Main St. Dr Joe has been serving the East Islip and surrounding communities for over 45 years. He is an avid golfer and can be frequently seen in his golf knickers and matching golf shoes. Dr Joe has been an accomplished artist for over half a century and many of his works of art can be seen hanging on the walls of the dental office. He is the father of five boys and one daughter, Sara who plays basketball for East Islip. His two youngest sons, Stephen and Michael, are currently attending Dental School and plan on joining the practice. Dr Joe and his wife Laura enjoy boating and spending time with friends.
Dr. Robert Domozych has spent his whole life in East Islip except for the four years he attended University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine. Upon graduating in 1985, he has been a partner in the current practice of Simonetti & Domozych.
Dr. Rich Domozych was born and raised in East Islip, New York and graduated from East Islip High School. He studied at Stony Brook University and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology in 1989. Dr. Rich attended Virginia Commonwealth Universitys Medical College of Virginia Dental School and earned his D.D.S. degree in 1993.
Dr. Rich began practicing dentistry as an associate of Dr. Charlie Wright in Charleston, West Virginia before returning to New York and joining the Simonetti and Domozych practice in 1996. Dr. Rich is grateful to serve patients in the community in which he grew up and to practice alongside his brother, Dr. Bob.
Dr Scott Simonetti was born in West Virginia while his father was attending West Virginia University School of Dentistry in 1973. He grew up in Great River, New York and attended East Islip High School. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Nutritional Sciences from Cornell University and then attended the University at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine where he earned his D.D.S. degree in 2001.
Dr Scott immediately joined the Simonetti and Domozych practice in 2001 and has recently designed and developed a US and International patent pending oral orthotic, The POD. Dr Scott has lectured at multiple continuing education programs and has appeared on national radio programs and blogs, discussing nitric oxide, mitochondria, intermittent hypoxia and disordered breathing. He has presented research to the Department of Defense at Ft Detrick Maryland and at the Military System Health Research Symposium in Kissimmee Florida.
