Dr. Robert M. Dolman is a Board Certified Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon with more than 18 years of private practice experience. He was trained through McGill University in Montreal (Canada) and its associated teaching hospitals, and is renowned for his surgical excellence and delivering the highest standards of care for his patients.
After having completed his dental education in 1988 and a general internship in 1989, Dr. Dolman began his residency training at the Montreal General Hospital during which time he attended McGill Universitys School of Medicine and was granted a Masters of Science degree in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in 1993.
His private practice has carried him from Montreal to Connecticut and now New York City. In 2000, he earned the distinction of being named a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
Dr. Dolman is also a Fellow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, as well as a member of the New York Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. In 2005/2006 and 2010/2011, Dr. Dolman was named one of Americas Top Dentists in the category of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
He brings with him a caring and compassionate manner along with sound surgical skills and judgment. He has lectured internationally on the topics of maxillofacial trauma, implantology, bone grafting and reconstruction.

I would HIGHLY recommend Dr Dolman for any kind of tooth surgery! In NY where most doctors I've seen have minimal time, energy and inclination for patient care rituals, Dr D is a maximalist. I went in to get all wisdom teeth removed. he recommended removing only 2 instead of 4 and recommended that my dentist try to fill other 2 cavities instead. I loved that - because it's not what I would expect a surgeon to say, and when it comes to surgery for me, less is more. After the procedure is when I was most amazed at his patient care regimen. He was available on his personal phone at all times. He checked on me many times after the procedure to make sure I was healing well. I messaged him quite a few times out of turn each time he was incredibly prompt and thorough and kind. I asked him for a repeat appointment and he made time quickly. He's one of a kind in NYC simply the best experience

Waited a month to leave my review because I wanted to share the most honest information. All 5 star reviews? Believe them! I went to 4 different surgeons for a consult because I'm picky as F with a capital F. When I found Dr. Dolman I felt peace because I saw the Elvis and the Beatles photograph. However, I can't even begin to describe how amazing Dr. Dolman is. During the consult he explained everything and even offered to do a special scan to see whether the tooth was close to the nerve. The day of the surgery I opted for laughing gas. I FaceTimed my dad and dr. Dolman walked in and said, "this isn't the time for selfies it's the time to relax." So I listened to him and relaxed. I didn't even notice when he removed my tooth. I did not take pain meds and did not experience any pain during my recovery. (Every case is different). I have problems with antibiotics so I try to avoid them as much as possible. I did not take them. The doctor explained the risks involved with my decision which i appreciated. I still did not experience any side effects for not taking the antibiotics or pain meds. (DO NOT TAKE THIS AS ADVICE. YOUR PROTOCOL IS UNIQUE TO YOU AND THE DOCTOR KNOWS BEST). I do what to highlight that even with my decision, I literally experienced no side effects and the recovery was smooth and easy -- just evidence of how detailed and careful the doctor is. He is genuinely the best. I also appreciated how quick he responded to my messages and that he followed up by text -even after 3 weeks, to make sure I was healing ok. If You need an oral surgery you literally cannot look anywhere else. Go to Dolman. Excellent music taste, great with oral surgery and cool and reliable doctor overall. He is the best in NYC.

My experience with Dr. Dolman was great. He is such a kind and very thoughtful doctor. The surgery was quick and painless. He will also check how are you doing after the surgery. The whole staff and assistants are nice, helpful and friendly. I highly recommend this practice.

I got all four of my wisdom teeth removed and the procedure could not have gone any smoother. Dr. Dolman was also extremely helpful with all of the preparation for the surgery, as well as the post-operation procedures.

I had a fantastic experience with Dr. Dolman and could not recommend him enough. I was so nervous about getting my wisdom teeth out, and felt even more so coming out of consultations with other doctors. After speaking with Dr.Dolman, I felt so much more at ease. He took the time to explain everything to me and answer each and every question I had -- I wasn't even nervous on the day of the procedure. It took 30 minutes and I did not feel any pain. Even after the process, I felt almost no pain-- a testament to how skilled Dr. Dolman is. He was always available to answer my questions throughout the process and took the time to make me feel comfortable. Huge thanks to him and his team!! Trust all the amazing reviews!!

Dr Dolman is the most caring medical professional I ever met. Tooth extraction is very scary experience for most of us, however if you need to do one, his office is the place to go. Dr. Dolman will explain in detail the steps, preparation and he makes sure the procedure is done without the pain and discomfort. His staff is very nice and professional. They made me feel better the way they care. I highly recommend him.

I was referred to Dr. Dolman by LIC Dental Associates during a routine check-up. Had all 4 wisdom teeth removed with minimal pain and discomfort. Dr. Dolman followed up via text and made sure the recovery went smoothly. Would recommend his practice to anyone in need of oral surgery.

the absolutely best both professionally and personally my family has ever experienced from a Dental Surgeon! I wish all medical professionals were given a course called "the Dr. Dolman" to teach how to incorporate professional acumen with creating a truly caring experience for the patient. We were recommended to Dr. Dolman by our family Dentist and flew my son from Texas to Dr. Dolman's. That's how serious we take our dental care: and so does Dr. Dolman: the office staff are lovely and calming, the furnishings are beautiful and comfortable, (I was given the "mom" seat while Dr. Dolman explained the entire procedure and the follow up care to us) and how many positive adjectives can I use in one sentence?? His manner put us at ease immediately, he speaks clearly and directly, and the extractions were done the next day in less than an hour. He has given us written and verbal instructions, he has been in touch with my son to ensure all is well and that we would feel comfortable with every (even the smallest) question we had. Words can not express our appreciation enough: thank you for making this procedure so positive for us!

I would highly recommend Dr. Robert Dolman for any oral surgery needs! He was AMAZING! I got 2 of my wisdom teeth removed, and if I'll ever need to remove the other two I'm definitely going to come back. I was invited to come by the office the day before the surgery for consultation and to discuss what will happen the next day. At the entrance I was greeted by a lovely young lady,and not even a minute later Dr dolman personally came to the waiting area to welcome me, he was very friendly and very professional. I had an X-ray on the spot and after that dr Dolman showed me it,explained what's going to happen the next day and answered all my other questions. The surgery itself was painless and fast, I was in and out in about an hour. I have received prescriptions for antibiotics, probiotics, pain medication, nausea medication, as well as a small kit for self care for the area of the surgery. In addition I got great papers with well explained information and instructions for self treatment the first days after the procedure. Another thing that I loved about Dr Dolman is the after visit care,I got from the doctor his personal phone number and I was told to feel free to contact him whenever I need to. The thing about Dr dolman is that he actually means it as oppose to other clinic places I have been to before. Dr Dolman answered any question I had,and texted me around every other day to ask me about how do I fell and advise me on any questions I had. If you are in need of an oral surgeon this is the BEST place for outstanding dental care with highly qualified professional staff!

Dr. Dolman was very informative, clear and direct in his opinion for wisdom tooth extraction. He made the recovery process stress free, and (mostly) pain free by providing me with all of the resources and information I would need throughout the healing process. In addition, Dr. Dolman was VERY responsive to any questions or concerns I had both going into and coming out of the procedure. He is a true professional and I am grateful for the smoothness of the procedure and recovery thanks to him and his team.

I got my wisdom teeth taken out here and let me tell you, it was one of the best experiences of my life. I was very nervous of course because everyone told me how bad it would be but I would sell my soul to get them taken out here again. The whole procedure was very relaxing and I felt very well taken care of by the staff. It was the most comfortable procedure I have ever undergone and although it was an hour of surgery, it felt like minutes. I got to listen to some really epic music and honestly had the best sleep of my life. Overall an amazing experience and I would definitely come back if I had any wisdom teeth left.

I had the best experience at Dolman Oral Surgery!! Dr. Dolman provided me with the highest level of care. He was so kind and caring during the entire process. Post-op he sent text messages to check in. The entire staff is exceptional!! I'm so grateful that I was able to have my procedure done at this office. I will never forget the level of care, kindness and support I received. It truly made Dr. Dolman stand out from the crowd!
