Growing up in Southwest Georgia, Dr. Krista Cox Hinchey holds southern living close to her heart. Dr. Krista is now happy to call Savannah her home. Dr. Kristas husband, Paul, grew up in Savannah and now they both are excited and grateful to be able to raise their family in this charming city.

Dr. Krista completed dental school at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta in May 2011. Upon finishing dental school, she completed her pediatric dental residency at MCG as well, under the name of Georgia Regents University. At this program, she completed training at Childrens Healthcare of Atlanta at Scottish Rite and Egelston. From this training, she gained a wealth of knowledge in special needs patients. In September of 2015, she became a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. Dr. Krista is one of the few pediatric dental providers in the Savannah area to receive board certification in her field, assuring patients and their families that they will be receiving the best care possible. Dr. Krista is a member of the American Board of Pediatric Dentists, American Academy of Pediatric Dentists and the Southeastern Society of Pediatric Dentists.

Upon finishing residency in Georgia, Dr. Krista joined her husband, Paul M. Hinchey, in Nashville, Tennessee where he was completing the six - year M.D. Oral and Maxillofacial Program at Vanderbilt. During this time, Dr. Krista was an associate in a pediatric dental practice in the surrounding areas of Nashville from July 2011 until May 2017. During this associateship, she performed in-office oral conscious sedations and general anesthesia cases in a surgery center setting. Dr. Kristas husband, Paul, has joined the Chatham Oral Surgery and Maxillofacial group here in Savannah.

When not at her office, Dr. Krista enjoys spending time with her family outdoors, whether that be on the beach or in the backyard. Dr. Krista and her husband have a little girl, Addy J and a son, Briggs, that keeps them on their toes!

A Georgia native, Dr. Phillip Strickland graduated from The University of Georgia, cum laude, with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a Spanish minor. He went on to attend the Medical College of Georgia School of Dentistry (now Augusta University), where he received his Doctor of Dental Medicine in 2011. Dr. Phillip completed his residency in Pediatric Dentistry in 2013. During residency, Dr. Phillip specialized in oral health care for infants and children through adolescence, including those with special healthcare needs.

Prior to joining the Dogwood team, Dr. Phillip was a dentist at Childrens Healthcare of Atlanta where he treated children with a variety of special healthcare needs and craniofacial anomalies. Dr. Phillip has also served as adjunct faculty at Augusta University College of Dental Medicine, supervising and mentoring pediatric dental residents.

Dr. Phillip started working part-time with our Dogwood team in the summer of 2018 until he and his family relocated to Savannah in May 2019. Dr. Phillip is excited to now be full-time with our team and grateful to join the Dogwood family!

Dr. Phillip became board certified by the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry in 2014, and his professional memberships include the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the Southeastern Society of Pediatric Dentistry, and the Georgia Dental Association.

Outside of the office, Dr. Phillip enjoys traveling, playing tennis, sitting poolside, and watching UGA football. Dr. Phillip is also an Eagle Scout and enjoys being outdoors with his two dogs exploring what low country living has to offer!

Dr. Morgan Boaen Smith was born and raised in Savannah, attending Saint Vincent Academy for high school, where she played volleyball, basketball, and soccer. She went on to complete her undergraduate training at The University of Georgia, graduating, magna cum laude, in 2011 with a Bachelor of Science.

Dr. Morgan received her Doctor of Dental Medicine from The Dental College of Georgia at Augusta University (formerly the Medical College of Georgia School of Dentistry). She then continued her training and completed a residency in pediatric dentistry, during which she trained at Childrens Healthcare of Atlanta. Dr. Morgan loves working with and providing dental care to all pediatric patients, including those with special healthcare needs.

Dr. Morgan stays up-to-date on the latest research and information in pediatric dentistry by participating in continuing education through the many professional organizations of which she is a member, including the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the American Dental Association, and the Southeastern Society of Pediatric Dentistry.

In her free time, Dr. Morgan enjoys spending time with her husband, Pate, who is also a dentist in Savannah. They enjoy relaxing at the beach, cheering on the Dawgs, and spending time with family and friends (including their two dogs, Baker and Fletcher). Dr. Morgan is happy to once again call Savannah home.
