Dr. Sheena Neil (Patel) grew up in Raleigh, NC and currently lives in Whispering Pines with her husband, Dr. Kevin Patel, her dog, Baxter, and the new addition to their family, their son, James Caleb. Dr. Neil attended undergraduate at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill receiving her bachelors in Biology, minoring in Chemistry and Spanish.
After graduating from UNC Chapel Hill, Dr. Neil was part of the inaugural class at East Carolina University School of Dental Medicine in Greenville, NC. In fact, Dr. Patel and Dr. Neil met during Dr. Patel's orientation in dental school. Upon receiving her Doctor of Dental Medicine at ECU she was accepted into the Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency at ECU at the Community Service Learning Center in Ahoskie, NC. There she received advanced training in surgery, endodontics and implant placement and restoration. Dr. Neil is certified in Invisalign and offers it in the practice.
Makayla completed her undergraduate studies at Mount Ida College, just outside of Boston, MA, receiving her Bachelor's degree in Dental Hygiene. She then went on to obtain her Master's degree in Healthcare Management from The University of Massachusetts, Dartmouth.
After graduating, Makayla moved to North Carolina out of her love for traveling and to continue on her career as a dental hygienist. For the past five years, she has loved providing care for her patients and establishing relationships, giving them an experience that is pleasant and comfortable. She says the most rewarding part of her job is when a patient can walk away feeling confident about their smile.

I haven't been to the dentist is so long and my teeth are in really bad shape. I first talked with Dr. Sheena Neil through email and made an appointment. I was so scared and nervous and from the moment i walked in the door the staff made me feel at ease and comfortable. Dr. Sheena was absolutely the best!!! She eased my mind and was so reassuring. She come up with an awesome treatment plan and i can finally see the light at the end of a very long, painful tunnel. I actually look forward to starting the process and being out of pain and able to smile again. I would absolutely recommend Dogwood family Dental.

I came with my 2.5 year old for my appointment and his first appointment ever. I also had a screaming newborn with me. They were so extremely patient, helpful, and understanding the whole time. They were fantastic with my 2.5 year old and made him feel comfortable!

Wonderful experience today. The receptionist is friendly and efficient, Gloria the hygienist is friendly and passionate about oral health and Dr. Kevin Patel was also friendly. A welcoming office that is efficient without rushing.

This place is amazing! I came here after a way too long hiatus between cleanings and a pretty big fear of going to the dentist, and they handled both very well. Everyone is incredibly friendly and they explain what they are doing step-by-step. I am very happy to have finally found such an awesome dentist!

Dr. Patel is the best dentist I've ever had. Professional, courteous, knowledgeable, and down to earth. His staff was fantastic. I highly recommend Dogwood Family Dental to anyone in the Sandhills, or within a couple hours. They're worth the drive!

I'm so glad I found this place. From the moment you walk in everyone is so nice and professional. Jazmine at the front desk is a gem. She is diligent, efficient and super sweet. My husband and I are very please with the service we received from this practice and look forward to future visits.

From the moment you call they make you feel a part of their family. Easy appointment times and just the sweetest front office staff around. Brenda did an amazing cleaning and eased my nerves by calmly explaining it all. Dr. Patel is friendly and professional and is thorough in his exam. I'm so happy we chose them for our kids and me! Best dental office around!
