Dixon Orthodontics is a family owned business, not a large dental corporation. We place our emphasis on providing honest, conservative, state of the art care for our patients, who are also our neighbors and fellow community members. Because we live here and send our children to school here, we want to see our community thrive and to make a positive contribution by providing high quality orthodontic services.
Dr. Dixon was born and raised in rugged South Central Idaho. He grew up camping, fishing, mountain biking, and especially skiing. His interests include astronomy and technology, having earned a minor in computer science. But, his true calling is health care.
Prior to becoming an orthodontist, Dr. Dixon graduated with high honors from the Medical College of Virginia School of Dentistry at Virginia Commonwealth University, earning his Doctorate of Dental Surgery. After practicing general dentistry for two years in the metro Richmond area, he completed his certificate in orthodontics at the University of Louisville in Louisville, Kentucky. Dr. Dixon is a member of the American Association of Orthodontics.
Dr. Dixon enjoys the process of helping patients achieve their goals and improving their lives. He continually seeks opportunities to learn new skills and keep up with trends in orthodontics. Dr. Dixon lives in Superior with his wife, Claire, and their four children.
I was born and raised here in Arvada. I love the outdoors-walking, working in my yard, and going to the mountains. I have one son who works for Arvada Fire as a paramedic. I spend as much time as I can with him and his family. I love orthodontics. I have been working in the orthodontic field for 29 years. I love seeing and getting to know the patients and parents each month. And I love to see the happy smiles when patients get their braces off!
I have been a dental assistant since 2015, and Im really passionate about dentistry. My favorite thing about working at Dixon Orthodontics is getting to know my patients and watching them grow throughout their treatment! In my free time I love spending time in the sun, traveling, drawing, and staying active!
I am originally from Arizona, and moved to Colorado after my time with the United States Army was over. My job in the military was dental assisting and that was where I grew to appreciate the dental field. I love working in ortho because it brings me joy to know that I helped create beautiful smiles. In my free time I enjoy going on hikes with my boyfriend and three adorable dogs.
I fill various roles in the office, including bookkeeper, marketer, human resources manager, treatment coordinator, and overall systems coordination. My favorite thing about working in the dental industry is being able to reach out to our surrounding communities and get to know teams, clubs, fellow business owners, fellow dental professionals, school administrators and volunteers, and all of our neighbors. We believe in treating every patient with respect and practicing orthodontics with integrity, and I am happy to share that with everyone who walks in the door.

I've been meaning to write this review for a while! Getting work done on your teeth is a stressful thing for many people, and getting orthodontic work done as an adult can be daunting, but I had an exceptional experience with Dr. Dixon and his team! A little background: I had only somewhat-askew teeth as a kid (very lucky, as my parents would not have been able to afford orthodontic care easily). When my wisdom teeth came in in my early college days, they skewed things even more. After having them out, my teeth stayed just crooked enough to bother me. After getting a consultation with Dr. Dixon, I learned the reason my teeth seemed flatter on one side was due to a malocclusion causing the cusps of my teeth to scrape on other teeth rather than fitting neatly between as they should. I was disappointed to learn I couldn't have my teeth fully corrected with plastic aligners. But I was relieved braces still weren't on the menu. Dr. Dixon uses a lot of newer methodologies like the Carriere motion appliance, which I used for about five months, and spared me the difficulties of full braces. While those months were the most challenging, given the attachments and rubber bands, Dr. Dixon and his friendly, professional team always made me feel welcomed and heartened. I was also amazed at how fast this thing worked! After that, I was able to have my teeth aligned with the clinic's proprietary plastic aligners. Really cool technology, and once again, absolutely insane how fast these things worked. My lower incisors had been the most askew and I couldn't believe how fast the improvement there happened. Even during the days of COVID and during my days of lengthy work travel, the team worked with me to keep my treatment plan going steadily along. It's weird to say, but I looked forward to coming in, because it was exciting to have progress and literally everyone at the office was always so cheerful. Sometimes it's a little funny being the only adult present, but it's a very professional environment and I never felt silly for being there. All the employees clearly like their jobs and take them seriously - it gives the whole place a pleasant atmosphere. Plus, it frankly IS fun picking colors for a new aligner case! This decision is one of the best I've ever made in my life. There's a lot of ways this could have been lengthier, scarier, or more unpleasant. I frankly can't imagine it having gone better, and even a year after completing treatment, I still frequently have moments of giddy delight at my un-crooked teeth! Worth every penny, every appointment, every moment of stress along the way (though I admit there were few). I got a spare retainer today since I travel so much, and I found myself happy to see everyone again. ENDLESS thanks to Dr. Dixon and his passionate, professional team! If you're looking to have orthodontic work done, don't hesitate on this office!

We love Dixon Orthodontics! Kim is always so gentle with Bettie. And oh so kind. Dr. Dixon is perfection when it comes to my daughters needs. Every time we go in there it has been easy peasy lemon squeezy. Which makes everything better for both my husband and I. We go in without a care in the world. I am so happy they make it that way. Daughter has been going to Dixon for quite some time with braces. Highly recommend their office. Clean, friendly, communicative, quick, and competent every time. We in fact moved an hour away during her braces and I never even thought about changing doctors.

To sum up our experience my daughter after having her braces adjusted, told me that this place is awesome and the people are really funny. If you can get a nine year old to say both of these things after having her braces tightened you must be doing something correct. With two separate locations and staff that is truly responsive, along with a clear process that they keep you updated on I have to say now having had all three of my kids in braces this is by far the best place we have used. As always check to make sure your insurance is accepted, but if so. This place is awesome.

This staff is amazing. Very understanding and caring. Always helpful and knowledgeable. The doctor is amazing as well as funny. He will always answer all your questions and also go over what is being done at each visit. He always has a smile.
