At Dixon Family Dental, we understand that planning dental visits for the entire family can be quite hectic. Thats why we do everything we can to make each familys trip to our office as easy and convenient as possible. From our flexible scheduling to our online scheduling portal, we aim for simplicity.
As a family-oriented dental office, we know that adults and kids require completely different care. Our dental team loves servicing the smaller smiles and we go the extra mile to ensure that your little one feels at ease. We use a gentle touch, explain treatments in kid-friendly terms, and work at a slower pace for kiddos. Our dental team focuses on educating children about their oral health, answering any questions they may have, and helping them start on the right path towards a lifetime of happy, healthy smiles.
Dr. Darlene Daniels-Dixon has been practicing general dentistry in Southfield, MI for the last 31 years. She completed her undergraduate studies at University of Detroit and entered the dental program at Marquette University, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, graduating in 1990. Her education continued as she completed a two year General Practice Residency through the University of Detroit/Detroit Receiving Hospital. Dr. Dixon actively attends continuing education courses, participates in multiple Study Groups, staying abreast of current topics and techniques. As a child, Dr. Dixon had many problems with her teeth and spent many hours in the dental chair. This spurred a job as a dental assistant in training. This led to her career goals as a dentist where she could help other families improve their overall oral health. Dr. Dixon strives to make all patients comfortable and is committed to excellence in family dentistry. In her free time she gives back to the community by mentoring young people interested in dental careers, participating in local career days, and local family health fairs. Dr. Dixon is married with two children and remains committed to the area. I enjoy most aspects of dentistry, I would say that changing unhealthy smiles to beautiful ones is what I enjoy most. The patient who has been ashamed and can finally smile again! I have a lot of surgical training, lots of CE in implants and truly enjoy restoring them. I am currently a part of a comprehensive care continuum, to offer better comprehensive care to the patient. My core belief in my practice is to treat everyone with the same respect as I would want for my mother. This means that they are treated with respect and not judged by their pocketbook. I work hard to get everyone a treatment plan they can afford to get them to a state of health. I have an outgoing kindhearted personality. I have a genuine interest in people and this is how I treat everyone, the way I want to be treated.

I had such a great experience with Dr Dixon and he staff. They are very professional and so down to earth. After my last experience with a particular dental practice I was very skeptical about going to a new office, but they eased my fears. I'm just so happy to have finally found a new dental family and will definitely recommend this practice.

I don't like that the hygienist constantly change. The one I had today was really rough, at least in my opinion. Probably won't return unfortunately. I really wanted to support a black owned dentistry, but this isn't the one for me.

I've been going to Dr. Dixon for more than a decade now (after a painful and expensive disaster with another dentist). She is professional--she empowers patients by telling them exactly what they need to know to get their dental care together, what treatments they need when, how much things cost, etc. My appointments start on time and her staff is professional *and* pleasant. Dr. D is personable and really cares about her patients and their overall well-being. She got me through through adult wisdom tooth removal, a cracked tooth after a fall, and adult braces. I listen to her recommendations for ensuring we're both happy with my smile because Dr. D is on it. I can't recommend her practice enough.
