Dr. Barnett was born and raised in Florence, Alabama. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of North Alabama in Florence and his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from Meharry Medical College in Nashville, Tennessee. Dr. Barnett also obtained a Masters of Divinity from Ambridge University in Montgomery, AL. Dr. Barnett earned several awards and honors while earning his various degrees.
Upon completion of dental school, Dr. Barnett was certified by the standards of the Alabama State Board and he moved to Brewton and later Gilbertown, AL to fulfill obligations to the National Health Service Corporation by providing dental care to low-income patients. In October 2012 Dr. Barnett purchased his second dental practice in Madison, Al Horizons Dental Concepts and transformed it into Divine Expressions Family Dentistry in May 2014. In fulfilling Meharrys mission of Service of God through service of mankind, Dr. Barnett has found dentistry to be his true passion in changing the world one smile at a time!
Dr. Barnett, a dentist in Madison AL, feels that continuing education is paramount to providing his patients with the best care possible. Because of this Divine Expressions are a Fortune Management Practice which drives excellence in life, dentistry and patient care. Dr. Barnett is also a member of the Crown Council which is an alliance of dedicated, leading-edge dentist and dental teams who have a commitment to building practices that provide continually rising standards of care. Dr. Barnett is also a member of the International Council of Oral Implantologist and prides himself as being Alabamas source for implant and sedation dentistry. There are many other organizations that Dr. Barnett holds membership with and is active in them all. Dr. Barnett has received numerous awards and honors, a few of them include; the National Trio Achievers Award because of his scholastic achievement and contributions to the community, Dr. Barnett was selected as one of the top 40 dentists under 40 in 2015, and the 2015 Young Professional of the year by the Huntsville Chamber of Commerce. Additionally, Divine Expressions is a 2016 contender for Best Medical Practice of the year by the Huntsville/Madison Chamber of Commerce.
Understanding the need to give back, Dr. Barnett travels on yearly trips to Haiti providing dental and nutritional care to help eliminate hunger and pain related to poor and unaffordable dental and health care to those who might otherwise not receive it.
The literacy rate for Haitians is 53% compared to 86% for the US and 90% for Latin America. The highest education for many Haitians is only the 6th grade. Because of this, Dr. Barnett funds a school on top of the mountains of La Fond in which 331 students are educated currently to the eight grade and fed daily. For many of these students, the only meals they receive are the ones provided by Dr. Barnetts school. Dr. Barnett and the team are committed to giving back not just in Haiti but to those in need. After all, we are Gods hands, feet, and spoken words here on earth!
Dr. Barnett keeps himself very busy in his church where he serves as Senior Pastor of Bethel church. He is the current Vice-President of the Kappa Nu Lambda chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. He serves on the Alumni Board for the University of North Alabama and is President of the Huntsville/Madison chapter. He is an avid football fan, Roll Tide, and loves traveling, reading, being outside in nature and spending quality time with family and friends.

The entire staff from the front door to the back and throughout the entire building are respectful and professional. Doctors Bennett and Embry are really there for the patient, and I appreciate the level of professionalism shown to me by each Doctor. The practice is very knowledgeable and helpful. However, time management is needed. My 1st appt took a little over 2 hours for an initial exam and my second visit, I needed a crown and it took about 4 hours. I had to take additional time off from work. Staff is friendly, but time of service needs work. My most recent and 6th visit was not good. I enrolled in the invisalign program in June of this year. 3 months later I've been paying (auto drafts) for a product/service I have not received. My previous 2 visits I had scans so that the model of my teeth are created so that my invisalign trays are prepared. September I was supposed to be fitted for my trays, an office representative calls the day of and cancels my appt 30 minutes prior. I reschedule for October and find out no trays were ever ordered and I have to do scans for 4th time this year. How many times do my teeth need to be scanned before i can get my invisalign?? Strongly considering changing practices, because efficiency has been lacking here. Anyway, go at your own risk.

Today was my second visit to Divine Expressions. Approximately 2yrs ago my co-worker who is a client, Kendra Brown, and I, visited the office for a cookout. I thought that was a really awesome thing to do for the clients. My coworker couldn't stop talking about how amazing this practice was. I am a Government contractor that travels to different locations... so, I left the area before visiting. Now I am back, and needed dental hygiene attention. I remembered my visit to the cookout that day; "Divine Expressions will be my dentist while in the area', I told myself. So, I made an appointment about 1-2wks ago. I was contacted to make an appointment. Figured it would be months in the future; kinda like the VA does when I make an appointment. Nope, it was the very next day!!! Can't beat that!!! Upon arrival I was amazed with the ambiance of the office. Clean, quiet, and cozy. I was greeted with a smile... it looked like a smile at least. Hard to tell behind the masks. LaToya was my dental hygienist. It's a coincidence that she is also the hygienist my coworker uses. LaToya is awesome. Very informative, and knowledgeable. Gave me much needed information that I was not aware of. I left the office smarter than I was when I arrived. I appreciate the information and moving forward will follow her advice. Thank you so much LaToya... I really appreciate the information. I've made strides since a previous dental visit, but now I will return with improvement to my current condition. Can't wait until my next visit!!! I don't even like the dentist, but I don't mind this office. If you're in need of dental care I highly recommended.

I had a tooth filled on my top teeth. The technique Dr Barnett used In numbing my mouth in my upper gum was outstanding!! I didn't feel the needle at all. Also interfacing with the staff is a pleasure. Each person that I have dealt with at Divine Expressions have always been professional and courteous.

Love this place soon as I walked in I was not ignored like some ofc does lol I loved how they all make sure your comfortable and constantly checks on you and give you their undivided attention they also talk you through everything they ask questions without missing a beat and great advice while not pressuring you into anything that also made me very comfortable to he point I'm ready to go back lol first appointment already ready for my next I wish they were a primary clinic also lol I would definitely be a patient but I'm sticking here forever

Routine Maintenance....In and Out I am sad to lose Janine. She has serviced me for many years. She had the greatest lashes and the best service. I was hoping that a new staff member would Not replace her, but just do great work. She was amazing, and she respected the history of Divine Expressions while making wonderful memories as my new hygienist.
