Dr. Raha Yousefi grew up in MD and attended the University of MD, College Park. She completed her dental training right in the heart of Washington DC at Howard University College of Dentistry. After dental school, Dr. Yousefi completed another three years at the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine where she completed her Certificate in Periodontics and the degree of Master in Public Health.
Dr. Al-Sabbagh completed his specialty training in Periodontics and Implant Dentistry at NYU College of Dentistry. He also earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery from NYU College of Dentistry and completed a one-year General Practice Residency at Staten Island Hospital.
He became a periodontist because he is passionate about gum health and improving his patients lives through their smiles. He strives to provide patients with the highest quality clinical care in the most calming and comfortable environment. Dr. Al-Sabbaghs mission is to take care of both the smile and the person behind it.
He grew up in North Carolina, where he attended N.C. State University. He currently lives in Arlington with his wife, a native of Northern Virginia. You can find Dr. Al-Sabbagh exploring the D.C. museums, culinary scene, and bike trails outside of the clinic.

Dr. Yousefi, Sheena, and Yamari were great. Yamari made the payment process as seamless as possible and was very accommodating to my financial needs and concerns. Dr. Yousefi and Sheena thoroughly walked me through the tooth extraction and implant operation and post-op processes, and made me feel very comfortable throughout. I have honestly never had better dental care with more competent and accommodating staff.

Dr Yusefi is such a compassionate, caring provider of gum surgery. She is insightful, highly skilled and shares as much information which was helpful to my healing process. Her exceptional leadership is apparent, as the entire staff evokes similar care and compassion. Even though I'm fearful of any surgery, I loved the experience. I highly recommend Dr Yusefi at District Perio.

I had an original crown that separated and was referred to Dr. Raha Yousefi at District Perio for consideration for an implant. I had first met Dr. Yousefi as a long-standing client of her corresponding general dental practice - Washington Metro Dental - and was able to see her shortly after the crown detached to have the rest of the tooth removed and the implant process started. Despite my fear, it was entirely painless. Dr. Yousefi provided a stand-in cosmetic tooth to allow the implant area to heal while the final implant tooth was created and later installed. Excellent skill, service and follow-up. I just had my 1 year check-up for the implant and we were both elated that everything still looked great. Thank you Dr. Yousefi, colleagues and office teams!

Everyone here is extremely friendly, knowledgable and proficient in their work. They took the time to get to know me, walked me through the procedure, and checked up on me after I had left. Definitely one of the best experiences I've had - I can't recommend them enough!

I cannot recommend this practice enough. The entire staff is smart, caring, and professional. I underwent tooth removal and implant procedures and was admittedly scared and nervous. Dr. Yousefi and her team made me feel seen and heard. Come here for your periodontal needs!

Walking out of the office after my gum graft surgery today, the first thing I said was "that was so cool!" But aside from my fascination with the procedure itself (Dr Yousefi let me take a peek a couple of times using her handheld mirror), my whole experience far exceeded reasonable expectations. Isn't it just so nice to love your encounter with a dental practice (or any service/professional) so much that you feel absolutely compelled to leave a positive review?! It's been 12 hours since my gum graft surgery with Dr Raha Yousefi, and my positive first impression has somehow only gotten even more so. PROS: * Lovely office staff! Everyone you speak with is not only pleasant but genuinely helpful. Every time we spoke on the phone, Jillian went above and beyond to support my decision to have have my gum surgery there--from breaking down pricing and accommodating my schedule to offering parking tips. Everyone else I encountered at the office exuded the same kind of patient-care orientation. * Solid reputation among dental professionals. My regular dentist, Dr N Halim, has a very high standard of care and is quite particular about the specialists he'll work with. After years of practicing in DC, there are only about 3 periodontists, I think, whose quality of work he trusts without reservation. So when he referred me to Dr Yousefi, I knew that was a solid vote of confidence, which means a lot to me. Patient reviews are one thing, but when your professional peers feel they can stake their own reputations on your work, I think that's a whole new level of accolade. * Talented surgical staff! To see Dr Yousefi operate with Laurie is to watch two experts joyfully perform their craft in harmony. The ease and respect with which they communicate with each other and support each other in service of a successful outcome immediately inspires confidence. This was my first time having oral surgery and certainly the first time I've been awake during an operation. Going in, I can't say I was particularly looking forward to the prospect of having courtside seats to my own surgery for 2 hours. So it meant a lot to be immediately put at ease by the collegial and expert way Dr Yousefi and Laurie work together. Their synergy was a breath of fresh air. CONS Since I just had the surgery and still have some healing ahead of me, it may be too soon to tell. But I guess one con is that they can't travel back in time to prevent my gum recession from happening in the first place :)

Dr Yousefi is extremely knowledgable, informative, attentive, accessible, and kind. I had a lot of anxiety going into my procedure but Dr Yousefi and her entire team immediately made me feel so at ease. Easily the best experience I've had with a dentist and I could not recommend her practice more.

They also gave a plan to make payments. I would like to thank Dr. Yousefi for all the help and care, she has done an amazing work and helped my smile. I would like to thank Yazmin for being very attentive and provide me with details along my treatment. Also I would to thank the whole team for making me feel comfortable and like in family. If you have to see a periodontist, Dr. Raha Yousefi is the person to see. I had to get multiple surgeries at once and her bedside manner and expertise made the entire process as smooth as can be. If I had a concern or question during recovery, I would just text her and she would respond almost instantly (even over the Thanksgiving holiday!). An experience that could have went completely wrong, turned out to be positive and painless. The staff is kind and thorough with explaining billing, appointments, and after-care. I can't recommend Dr. Raha and her staff enough!!

I got a tooth implanted to replace a bridge for a congenitally missing front tooth and Dr. Yousefi did an excellent job. She was very thorough in her explanation of how the process would work and what I could expect, she did an excellent job during the surgery and has been great throughout the follow-up process. She also did a great job coordinating with my dentist throughout the process. I'd highly recommend District Perio and Dr. Yousefi for any periodontist needs!
