Dr. Amanda Romsa, the owner of District Orthodontics, grew up in Wisconsin and practiced in Chicago before moving to Washington, DC. She has now been a proud Capitol Hill resident since 2013 and is honored to provide excellent care for members of her community. She also wants to support her neighborhood. For every patient who starts treatment, District Orthodontics will provide the local nonprofit Little Lights with a backpack filled with school supplies to give to an up-and-coming student in our neighborhood.
Dr. Romsa graduated from the University of Wisconsin (Go Badgers!) with a B.S. in Biochemistry. Her undergraduate achievements earned her the Deans Merit Scholarship to attend the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine. Upon graduating from dental school, Dr. Romsa was inducted into the prestigious Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society, which is for students who have demonstrated exemplary traits of professional character and academic excellence. After dental school, Dr. Romsa continued her education at the University of Minnesota Orthodontic Residency Program. During her specialty training, she gained significant experience in treating craniofacial anomalies and surgical patients.
Dr. Romsa is a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, the Middle Atlantic Society of Orthodontists, and the Capitol Hill Chamber of Commerce. For fun, Dr. Romsa enjoys singing in the Capitol Hill Chorale, cycling, traveling, cleaning up her neighborhood with the Capitol Hill Clean Up Crew, and spending time with her husband and son.
Dr. Amanda Romsa is a caring and skilled orthodontist in Capitol Hill. She has been helping children and adults achieve beautiful smiles for many years. Second only to orthodontics, another one of her passions is her local community. Dr. Romsa champions many events and projects in the local area because she not only wants to improve smiles but also change lives.
District Orthodontics is all about the individual. No two patients are the same, which means everyones smiles are unique. Therefore, Dr. Romsa takes the time to get to know you or your child and address any needs. Only then does she assess your smile and provide her expert recommendations. Youre always #1 in our office!
Dr. Amanda Romsa lives in Capitol Hill and loves the community. She genuinely cares about the people who visit our practice and also wants to improve the lives of those around her. This motivates her to provide quality service at our office and help as many people as possible to improve their smiles.
In addition, we participate in community activities and support local events. Being part of the community and getting to know the locals is dear to Dr. Romsa. She supports a variety of community organizations, including the Capitol Hill Chorale.
We love Dr. Romsa. She is such a nice and friendly doctor! Very professional and caring. My daughter had very crooked teeth that made her feel very insecure about smiling. But that changed as soon as Dr. Romsa put her braces on. Her teeth got straight very fast, which brought a lot of happiness to my child. For that, Im so grateful.

District Orthodontist is an awesome practice. Everyone is friendly, kind, and professional. Dr. Romsa is an excellent orthodontist. She is friendly, has great bedside manners, knowledgeable, and all around great orthodontist. I was super happy with the entire process and care I received over the 2 year period that I received my Invisalign treatment.

I cannot possibly say enough positive things about our experience at District Orthodontics. Our twelve year old son recently had his braces removed. We are all thrilled with the results. From our first visit to our latest, we have continued to be impressed with the care our son has received. The staff are consistently welcoming and helpful. Dr. Romsa is as personable and caring as she is highly skilled. I cannot recommend District Orthodontics more highly. Thank you Dr. Romsa and crew!

Jazmin and the team at District Orthodontics could not have been more helpful with both of my boys' needs. They have walked me through every step of the process, recommended amazing outside doctors and surgeons as needed, and been transparent the entire way. They even read through the entire PDF of prospective dental insurance plans to make sure I knew what would be covered and what would not, and provided me with a breakdown and cost for everything. This was before we had decided to go with them for our kids' ortho needs, too! Incredible service, they truly care about what they do, and it shows!

If you're going to spend the money and take the time to straighten your teeth, do yourself a favor and skip the mail services. Go to a real professional. The folks at District Orthodontics have been absolutely incredible and my teeth look great! It's so important to have a qualified professional making decisions and guiding your care, and Dr. Romsa is extremely knowledgeable and patient. Her team is efficient and kind. As a busy professional receiving care, it was particularly helpful to have a front-desk team that is extremely responsive by email. They also helped me navigate my dental insurance options and it ended up costing much less than I thought it would and I was able to fund my portion out of my FSA! I can't recommend their services highly enough. Email them now! You won't regret your choice!

The whole team at District Orthodontics is beyond diligent and kind. My clear aligner treatment had excellent results, and in each appointment, Dr. Romsa was attentive, showed care, professionalism, and answered every question I had. The dental assistant was also super helpful throughout the process, and pays special attention to the patient's needs and comfort. Even the office's administrator, Jazmin, is a generous and very helpful person to contact. My visits have been always pleasant, efficient, and I appreciate their clear communication and flexibility in schedule to match my availability. I love my new smile and I'm thankful for the wonderful team at District Orthodontics.

I couldn't be more pleased with my experience at District Ortho. The staff is all stellar and Dr. Romsa made me feel completely at ease. I had concerns about my teeth that I hadn't addressed for months because I wasn't sure if they were "serious enough"- my only regret is that I didn't schedule an appointment sooner! For reference, I am an adult patient and had braces as a teen, and my dentist had suggested some realignment. I finally got a second opinion here at District Ortho and am so glad I did! The office offers a free consultation appointment and I didn't feel pressured into making any treatment decisions on the spot- you truly have nothing to lose by scheduling a consultation. In the end, the treatment I purchased was less than the quote from my dentist, so in my opinion the prices are very reasonable. In addition, the office is beautiful, modern, and bright! I think kids and adults alike will be very comfortable there:-)

I really like Jasmine at the front desk. She is extremely professional and I felt welcomed right away during my first visit. She has also been helpful when I called with questions about my account. I also felt very comfortable with Dr. Romsa. She took time to answer all my questions. I love the decor in the office. On my first visit, they even had a small board saying welcoming all the patients (by name) that would be seen that day. I thought it was a nice touch.

I'm just starting treatment and I could not possibly be more pleased with my experience so far. Amanda, the Business Assistant, is incredibly helpful and has gone above and beyond to answer all of my questions. Dr. Romsa is friendly, knowledgeable, and thorough. The convienient location and flexible appointment times are also a bonus! I would highly recommend District Orthodontics to anyone looking for high quality orthodontic care.

I emailed District Orthodontics after losing my retainer on a trip abroad. I had my retainer for over a decade before losing it and was nervous about my teeth shifting. I heard back from Amanda within hours (over the holidays, no less!) and was quickly scheduled for an appointment. The office is clean and super hi-tech. Amanda is kind and knowledgeable, and was diligent about keeping me updated about when to expect my retainers to be delivered. I would highly recommend her practice to anyone in the Washington, DC area. She delivers the personalized, neighborly care we all hope for from our doctors, but that is too often in short supply.
