Dr. Bobby Shirley,Dr. Clay Cannon, Dr. Jack Bickford and our experienced dental team provide Distinctive Dentistry for our patients. Our practice proudly serves patients located in Dallas, Hiram, Douglasville, Rockmart, Powder Springs, Acworth, Villa Rica, Temple, Marietta, and Kennesaw.
A 3rd generation University of Georgia graduate, Dr. Bobby Shirley received a Bachelor of Science in Biology before continuing his studies at the University of Louisville School of Dentistry where he earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine.
Dr. Shirley joined Distinctive Dentistry in 2005 and is dedicated dental professional and strives to learn and grow each year. He is also dedicated to helping Georgia grow and was selected for the Leadership Georgia program in 2013. Dr. Shirley remains an active member of Leadership Georgia. Additionally, Dr. Shirley is a member of the Georgia Dental Association, American Dental Association, Hinman Dental Society, Academy of General Dentistry, and American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry.
He and his wife, Tish, have two sons: Mac and Graham. When hes not at the office, he loves spending time with his family, and loves combining exercise and being outdoors with activities like skiing and golf. He and his family are active members of North Metro Church.
Dr. Clay Cannon joined Distinctive Dentistry in June of 2018 following Dr. Bickfords retirement. After graduating from Clemson University with a degree in business management, Dr. Cannon went on to pursue his lifelong desire to become a dentist, attending the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta. Prior to joining Distinctive Dentistry, Dr. Cannon practiced as an associate for five years while searching for a practice to call his own. He is an active member of the American Dental and Georgia Dental Associations.
Dr. Jack Bickford is a graduate of the Ohio State University College of Dentistry and served two years as a dentist in the United States Army.He is very involved in the dental community as a member of the American Dental Association, the Georgia Dental Association and the Academy of General Dentistry. Dr. Bickford is also active in the Thomas P. Hinman Dental Society. He serves on local and national committees for many of his professional organizations.
In 2009, Dr. Bickford received the Georgia Dental Association Honorable Fellow award. He is also a fellow of the American College of Dentists and a member of the Pierre Fauchard Academy dental honor society. Dr. Bickford is a past president of both the West Georgia Dental Study Club and the Southeastern Professional Study Club and is a founding member of the Lost Mountain Dental Study Club. He was named one of Atlantas top dentists by Atlanta magazine in 2010. Dr. Bickford enjoys bringing his patients the latest in dental technology. The practice of dentistry is constantly evolving and knowing what is available for the patient is extremely important.
Dr. Bickford has deep roots in the Paulding community and has taken great pride in many leadership roles. He is a past director of the Paulding County Chamber of Commerce and is a past president of the Paulding County Civitans. He also served as chairman of the Wellstar Paulding Hospital advisory board. Dr. Bickford was the first chairperson of the United Way of Paulding County. He was also a founding board member of a local food bank, Helping Hands of Paulding County. He and his wife Molly are active members of Dallas First United Methodist Church. They have one married daughter and three grandsons.

The hygienist was very patient and kind during my cleaning. She made me feel very comfortable and when I was a little chilly, she provided a blanket for me! I, also, heard another hygienist across the hall who obviously had a patient who was in need of extra care. I could hear her be very patient and sweet to the gentleman. Don't know about you all but I get very anxious going to the dentist and that's because I don't go as often as I should and they don't scold me for not coming more often! lol It does make for a more thorough cleaning! hahaha But from check in to check out they are terrific!

So glad we found this establishment. I needed alot of work to get back on track so I was really worried. Each time my fears were put at ease. The ladies that cleaned my teeth have always been so personable and patient. They actually listen and make sure you're comfortable all of the way. Dr. Cannon is also very friendly and knowledgeable. Gets the worst done quickly. If you need a dentist and are in the Dallas area look know more. This is it. Call soon as they are very busy but it speaks volumes to the quality of this business. I don't dred going to the dentist any more.

This business has people sit on their roof (yes, roof) after hours and has people towed from their parking lot on weekends. Yes, weekends in which they are closed for business. We walked across the street to get a to-go menu from Sea Shack and was towed within 5 minutes. You know they are clearly getting a cut from those towing bills. $200/car

I love this office. I moved to Gwinnett county and could not find good compassionate service like this office, so now I am driving back to Dallas GA to this office, a 1hr 30min drive, this is how great they are!!

From the moment I walked in, I felt welcomed. Melody was so kind and considerate when she signed me in and my best descriptive for Dr. Bobby Shirley is "uplifting"! He and his assistant Hutton treated me as though they had no other patients. This team possesses qualities that are sadly rare in today's world - professionalism (they really know their stuff!) AND personal compassion. Easily a 5-star recommendation.

The people here are warm, friendly and professional. I've been here twice now after bouncing around looking for a good dentist. I have nothing but good things to say so far. Most dentist will try to get you to fill a tooth that doesn't really need it. I have a dentist friend and send him my x-rays for advice. Ironically his view differs almost every time. That tells me most dentist are grabbing money. This place agreed with his perspective on one of my teeth. That bought a lot of credibility in my mind. I didn't tell them up front what I was doing. Good to know there are still honest vendors out there. This very clean. It is laid out and staffed well. They have all the pertinent tools you need. The dentist are engaging and willing to discuss things with you. Some places the dentist are "too busy" to spend time with you.

Outstanding quality of care. I came in for an emergency as a new patient. Every staff member I interacted with warm and professional. I have major dental work anxiety and they all made me feel very comfortable. This will be where I have all my dental care done moving forward.
