Our financial coordinator will sit down with you, listen to your needs, and work together with you on a financial plan that allows you to feel comfortable with this investment in your health.

Dr. Bret A Bologna grew up in Michigan City, Indiana where he attended grade school and high school playing sports and being involved in many clubs and organizations. It was during those early days he developed a love for baseball and specifically for the Chicago Cubs. He transplanted to Indianapolis, Indiana to attend Marian College (which is now Marian University) where he attained Magna Cum Laude distinction in the field of Biology. He stayed in Indianapolis to attend Indiana University School of Dentistry where he was the President of his Dental School class.
Dr. Bologna and his wife, Katie, decided together to move back to The Region to live their adult lives and for Bret to establish his practice life. After short stints as an associate dentist, Dr. Bologna was able to find the right practice and the right place to put down roots in Crown Point, Indiana.
Fast forward 21 years and Dr. Bologna and Katie have two sons, Jackson and Everett, a wonderful home and home town, and a beautiful dental practice. Jackson recently graduated Cum Laude from Crown Point High School and is headed to Wabash College to study Financial Economics and continue to perform in the Glee Club at Wabash. Everett is a Junior at CPHS and was recently elected to the Treasurer position for the Student Council. Being proud parents is a great job to have and Dr. Bologna and Katie love to be there to watch their boys grow into men.
Dr. Bologna has a great deal of interests outside of the office setting. As mentioned above, he is an avid Cub fan. He loves to golf in the summer time. He is even an amateur sailing captain in both the Great Lakes and in the British Virgin Islands. But, by far, his favorite thing to be is a husband and dad.
Brandi has worked as a dental hygienist at DDS since 2005. Graduating from Indiana University Northwest in 2000. She lives in Crown Point with her husband and 2 daughters. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, camping, sports, traveling and volunteering at her childrens school.
Brandi has significant experience in the dental hygiene field and is the head of the hygiene department at DDS. She is dedicated to providing her patients with the most current education and technology. Technology has changed over the years and made dentistry more exciting for myself and patients by improving quality, putting greater emphasis on prevention that will translate into fewer cavities and less periodontal disease and shorter treatment times. One of the biggest tools we recommend today is the power toothbrush. At first it might feel strange, but the Oral B makes brushing easier which helps to maintain oral hygiene and prevent plaque or cavities. Brandi enjoys visiting the local schools to teach children about dental health. The Intra-Oral and Cari-Vu Camera has been another game-changer in dentistry. It allows the patient to see what I see in their mouth. The Cari-Vu uses non-ionizing radiation but uses trans-illumination technology to see cavities and cracks, making it ideal for children and pregnant women. The Piezo Scaler has revolutionized periodontal therapy by decreasing patient time, providing a higher level of patient comfort, more efficient removal of plaque and calculus, less tissue trauma and decreasing our hand and wrist fatigue. Technology is amazing, but in and of itself, it is only a tool wielded by a knowledgeable user.
We at DDS value technology, but we value the relationships we create and foster using our skill, technology, personality, and one on one mentality to create an ideal environment for the patient. I am so excited to see what else is developed over the next decade and am excited to share it all with you!

I recently chipped my tooth and called the dentist right away to get it fixed. Doctor took me in and fixed my tooth within just a few days. His work was flawless and absolutely painless! My tooth looks good as new! He walked me through every step and was very professional. Doctor and staff are very personable and treat their patients with such great respect and care. Such a great team!

Incredible! Dr.Bologna and his staff are absolutely amazing. My 5 year old had a broken tooth and they got me in within the hour. The staff and Dr's really now how to deal with children especially with kids with sensory issues .I can not recommend this office enough!!

My experience with Dr. Bologna and his staff has been fantastic. Each of my visits have been scheduled and coordinated Claire who's done a superb job of being flexible to meet my availability needs. Dr. Bologna has developed a patient-centered team and it shows. I especially appreciate the time Dr. Bologna takes to explain each step during procedures and eases any concerns one may have while having a procedure performed. I will continue getting all of my dental care from Distinctive Dental Solutions!

Dr. Bologna and his staff, Clare and Paula, were very attentive to my dental issues. They were the most friendly and courteous dental staff that I have experienced. I have been coming here for many many years, and always treated special.. Dr. and staff very experienced, and always explains all procedures before hand, and does not push any procedure until necessary. I will be moving to Florida soon, and will have to find another dentist....

As always, Dr. B and his staff take such good care of our whole family. Most recently, Dr. B provided me with day and night time NTI devices for my teeth clenching. I had never heard of these little things, but they make a huge difference. Dr. B was so knowledgeable about the neuroscience behind the creation of the NTI device, and the decision was easy. I always trust that he's giving options that are best for me. The process to be fitted was easy and the result is very effective. Thank you so much as always, Distinctive Dental!

During the Covid-19 pandemic Dr. Bret and his staff took very good care of me. I was having tooth pain, and had to have a old filling and crown replaced. I am so thankful that Dr. Bret is a perfectionist...I love my new crown (it's fits perfectly) and new filling...the pain is gone!! I highly recommend Distinctive Dental Solutions. Dr. Bret, Claire and Misty went above and beyond during the pandemic. So glad they were there for me...as always!

Another amazing experience with Dr. Brett and his staff this week. I had a bad sinus/cold flair up weeks ago but then started having pain and throbbing in one of my upper back teeth. I called and expected to get squeezed in (with luck) in a few days but instead, Claire got me in that very afternoon. After an x-ray and exam the tooth and root look normal but all indications is that the sinus cavity in that area is inflamed. Dr. Brett suggested taking an anti-inflammatory for 4-5 days to see if it makes a difference...and I can already tell it has! I can't say enough about Dr. Brett and his staff....I don't know what I'd do without them. They're the best of the best!

A great dentist plus a great staff is a win win in my book. You will not find any better in NWI. Doc takes the time to explain everything to you and answer all questions that you may have. Plus he has a great chair side manor. A+ Doc. The staff is just like the Doc, friendly, smiling and well informed, ready to help you anyway they can. You can not go wrong with DDS.
