Dr. Miller grew up in Maryland before eventually settling in Ohio and graduating from the Ohio State University College of Dentistry. She has been the owner of and operator of the current practice since 2010, using her training and experience to help patients throughout Shelby.
Dr. Patel grew up in Long Island and received her education from Northeastern University and the Boston University School of Dental Medicine. She practiced dental medicine in Georgia before moving to Shelby, OH.

Marissa Miller, DDS grew up in central Maryland, the daughter of Kay and Bruce, who are both native Ohioans. After completing her undergraduate education at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, Dr. Miller resided in Maryland and then Colorado for a time before realizing that her heart was in Ohio. She returned to Columbus, Ohio and attended The Ohio State University College of Dentistry, graduating in 2008.
Dr. Miller took over the dental practice at 100 W Main St, Shelby in the spring of 2010 and has never looked back. She relocated locally and loves getting to be part of the Shelby community and serving its wonderful residents.
A commitment to advanced dentistry is very important to Marissa. She takes up to 200 hours of continuing education each year to stay on top of improvements in dental technology and continually works to hone her own skills.
When not at the office Dr. Miller really enjoys being involved and out and about in the Shelby community. She is a member of the Shelby Rotary Club, and serves on the boards of The Shelby Foundation and Third Street Family Health Services. She also loves to travel and feels very lucky to get to attend advanced dentistry classes and conferences in other parts of the country.
We have had nothing but good experiences at Discovery Dental. My 5 year old had to have a tooth pulled. They made it a fun experience for her and made her feel relaxed about it all. She wasn't scared at all and she's actually excited to go back in the future!
I can 100% recommend Discovery Dental Shelby. I have been going there for about two years. My assigned Dental Hygienist is exceptional, she is gentle as is feasible, very informative about what she is doing and very thorough. She takes time to explain how I may better care for my teeth and gums. I appreciate her sincerity. I recently had a tooth extraction there. I was a little nervous, however Dr Miller and her Dental Assistant were so calming, efficient and informative during every step of the procedure that I quickly felt at ease. The extraction was very quick and painless. I am very glad I found Discovery Dental.

Both my children loved this place. My husband and i also loved it. Everyone was friendly and thorough and happy to explain the process of what we needed. When my 4 and 2 year old visited it was their first dentist appointment and they talked about going back for weeks

New patient visit. Took off work for the dental visit. Just got x-rays and exam. No cleaning. They don't do complete services in one visit. Had to make another appointment to take off work just for the cleaning. Very inconvenient and costs more gas and time for me. Plus about 8 weeks out before could get me in for a cleaning. One visit for basic dental care would sure be nice!

Best experience I ever had at a dental office. The EFTA was very informative and absolutely thorough on everything. Never like going to the dentist, but discovery made it easy.
