Dr. Patricia Tran grew up outside of Denver, Colorado, where she received her bachelors and dental degrees from the University of Colorado. Immediately following dental school, she moved to St. Louis to acquire her masters degree and certificate in orthodontics at St. Louis University. She is also a diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics, the only orthodontic specialty board recognized by the American Dental Association and sponsored by the American Association of Orthodontists.
Dr. Tran is regarded in the dental community as friendly and professional and enjoys working closely with general dentists and other dental specialists to provide the best care for her patients. She is regarded by her patients as attentive, open and approachable, dedicated to providing a warm and welcome atmosphere. Dr. Tran believes in delivering the highest quality care in orthodontics, guided by a commitment to using the most advanced techniques and materials, and applies the latest findings from clinical research to her treatment. She stays on the forefront of technological advancements in the orthodontic specialty by attending numerous orthodontic education programs each year in order to offer her patients the best possible course of treatment.
When not in the office, Dr. Tran might be found traveling to different countries to explore other people, culture and foods. She feels privileged for being able to provide a service that is able to change peoples lives and has made it a priority to give back, volunteering for dental missions in Romania, Vietnam and India. Dr. Tran is a participant in Smiles Change Lives program, an organization that provides orthodontic treatment to children from low-income families.
Dr. Matthew Ng received his undergraduate degree in Microbiology at the University of Manitoba in Canada, graduating with distinction. He continued his studies at the same institution, obtaining his Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree and receiving a number of awards and honors. After graduating, Dr. Ng left Canada to attend one of the most prestigious orthodontic programs in the country at the Center of Advanced Dental Education at Saint Louis University in St. Louis, Missouri. For his masters thesis, he studied the elements of a beautiful smile and profile aesthetics. Dr. Ng became a Board Certified orthodontist in Canada in 2005 and earned the same distinction with the American Board of Orthodontics in 2007.
Dr. Ng and his team are dedicated to continuing education courses to stay informed of the current advances in the specialty of orthodontics. This includes local courses, study clubs and national seminars that not only focus on orthodontics but also target a multidisciplinary approach dealing with other dental specialists. Dr. Ng lectures nationally and internationally on early orthodontic treatment, aesthetic treatment alternatives for adults, multidisciplinary management of the adult orthodontic patient and practice management. He is an affiliate member of the prestigious Angle Society Southwest Component and also an active member of the College of Diplomates of the American Board of Orthodontics.
Dr. Ng is an active member in the profession. He currently serves on the board of directors of the Texas Association of Orthodontists and is one of three Texas directors for the Southwest Society of Orthodontists. Dr. Ng is an active person and loves to do anything outdoors. His hobbies include running, cycling and adventure travel. Some highlights of his adventure travel include reaching the summit of Mt. Kilimanjaro, hiking the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu and mountaineering in the Argentinian and Chilean Patagonia. Dr. Ng also enjoys charitable work and giving something back to not only the profession but to the underserved, locally and around the world. He has served on a number of dental missions in Central and South America and belongs to a number of domestic charitable organizations, including the Smiles Change Lives program. He also serves as the Texas coordinator for the Donated Orthodontic Services Program sponsored by the American Association of Orthodontists.
The accounting firms known as the Big Four wanted to steal Sandra away, but we told her she could not go anywhere there are patients who need her! Sandra loves keeping accounts in order and insurance companies on their toes, because who wants to pay for insurance and not maximize their benefits? It takes a stealthy Zen-type of patience to wait for hours on hold (om om cue deep breathing exercises) trying to collect from those insurance companies, and our patients love her for it!
