As the Practice Manager, Marcy is responsible for ensuring the Discover Dental dentist office runs smoothly so that the support staff can be focused on patient care and service. Marcy works alongside the doctors at Discover to provide the highest level of service to patients. She ensures that all team members are fully trained and that all aspects of the practice are functioning with dental service excellence as the standard of care. Marcy has been committed to patient service for more than 4 years, and when she is not working, you can find her around Houston TX with her family.
Dr. Hoa Tony Trans love and passion for dentistry began at a young age. Born in Southern California, his family moved to the Houston area in the early 80s, where they quickly put down deep roots. Dr. Tran grew up in the city of Pearland, where he graduated high school. As soon as he could, Dr. Tran began his career in dentistry at the age of 20 as a dental assistant. In 2006, Dr. Tran graduated from the University of Houston with a Bachelors of Science in Biochemistry. Dr. Tran was then privileged to enter dental school at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio.
Upon graduating in 2010 with his doctorate in dental surgery, Dr. Tran provided his hometown of Pearland with his expertise, love, and passion for dentistry, caring for thousands of patients who were once his neighbors, employers, teachers, family, and friends.
After years practicing in Pearland and the multitude of Pearland tx Invisalign patients along with other dental veneers, regular cleaning patients he managed while maintaining his residence in the Houston Heights, Dr. Tran founded Discover Dental close to home and is now providing his brand of dentistry to his neighbors in the Heights. Dr. Tran spends his free time serving his community, traveling abroad, and seeking an adventurous life.

I do not recommend this dental practice. I went here on a recommendation from a friend. They are very quick to offer multiple services with a very high price tag. I had a crown placed by them which was a big mistake. I had made several calls regarding how my bite was off, the crown did not fit properly, and there was pain but the dentist and staff did not care. After a week of pain they offered gave me an appointment and the provider clearly sloppy with the work and resulted in further derangement of my bite and even more pain. I made the decision to pursue a different dentist which helped fix the problem. Ultimately the entire process led to a root canal and two redo crowns because they had botched everything from the get go. The main issue I had is they do not listen to their patients and are not responsive to issues that arose after their services.

Very thorough, courtesy, and state-of-the-art technology which makes treatment go faster. None of this, 'we'll do this at your next appointment'. I said 'yes' to the first lengthy procedure on day one, and the Discover team did it. My next procedure is prep, create and place a titanium/porcelain crown which they will do in just a few short hours, all in-house. For professionals like me, that don't have time to waste on multiple appointments to get one procedure accomplished, Dr. Tran and Discover Dental is one of the best practices for all things dental. I should know, my ex is a dentist. LOL!

Everything was great! Kimberly has been the best hygienist I had at the Discover dental. She has shared tangible ways for me to better care for my teeth and I feel more encouraged to do so after meeting with her. I feel I have learned more about my health through Kimberly than any other hygienist I had in the past. Thank you!

I tried to be nice about this but this is unacceptable. I have called numerous times to have my records sent over to another office and the staff repeatedly has told me they would send it. It has been 2 weeks now and I am still having to call back and hear the same excuse with no progress in getting simple x-rays sent over.

Dr Tran and his staff are absolutely amazing!! Took care of my 6 month check up quick and easy!! I couldn't be in better hands for the health of my teeth!!

The office is bright and clean, the staff is very friendly, and Dr. Tran was very helpful and informative. My hygienist did a wonderful and careful job on my cleaning.

Let me start with I haven't had a dentist do work on my teeth in 10 years. Stupid phobias. A couple of years ago I had an evaluation done due to pain. I received a 14k quote with everything and their break room sink.. I ran and again, avoided dentist offices. I was able to make a same day appointment. That is super important to me because, if I wait and have time to overthink, I will cancle After a while of looking, hesitantly I settled on this one for unrelated reasons.. the attached bar/restaurant in the same building. Cuz adults are allowed liquid courage. Not that that does me any good this go around, being pregnant and not able to drink at the moment. But, I digress. I plan ahead. This time, I did research before visiting an actual office. I had a good idea of the services I would need and a ball park to expect. So, I let the team do their thing and give me the recommendations and price. They didn't oversell and were spot on. I needed to get the work done and not bolt out of The Chair again, so we proceeded. The price for what I had done was in the middle range with good insurance. It definitely wasn't a bargin, but within reason. The office is clean and well designed. The staff are friendly, I didn't notice a single RBF. The Tech that did the majority of the work was Super knowledgeable. She was sweet and even laughed at my horrible "trying to deal with my nerves" jokes. The Doc was a nice guy with a natural fluidity and bedside manner. I appreciated his professionalism and that he didn't roll his eyes at me being truly anxious and nervous. He talked me through with a breathing technique that actually worked. Overall, I will be back.

This dentist is a scam. Visited this location around April 2021. They mentioned I had a gum disease- mind you I have gone to the dentist twice a year every year since I was young and was never told I had this disease. They refused to do a general cleaning and convinced me into doing a deep cleaning for the supposedly gum disease I had. I never went back after this situation. Please believe the negative reviews.

I literally have a crown that has been filed down multiple times and is still bothersome. They want me to pay to redo the crown that was their mistake... there is definitely a lack of customer care and a definite feel for trying to get you to pay for unnecessary services such as veneers or laser treatment... super irritated. Response: when I wrote this review, I had lived in Houston 7 years, so let us not exaggerate the timeframe. I also had not been to you for some time. Additionally, you made me miss work 11 times to try to file down the crown which did not work and then you told me I could pay $500 for your cost to do a new one, OR I could wait until I had better dental insurance that would pay for it [again]. Ummm I'm in pain... That is absurd that you think that is fair. Take care of your patients and stop only worrying about your bank account.

2 stars due to being very friendly people and agreeing to do a general cleaning. I went into the appointment on high alert due to previous reviews, and the negative ones were spot on. The recommendations I received were hilarious and I declined every single one. Total cost would have been $4k-6k, can't quite remember cause I was already committed to saying no. I received a trusted second opinion yesterday, and while removing my tonsils in the next 3-5 years might be necessary, I definitely do not have to get them removed today and do not have "sever gum disease." Again, Kimberly and Dr. Tran were very friendly, and after an hour of consultation, Kimberly did an efficient job with the general cleaning. My recommendation to anyone: never agree to anything on the spot in a field where you are not educated. In no circumstance is it wise.

Waste of time. I truly felt that my last two appointments, that i was at a time share...pushy salesmen (dental hygienist & dentist). This visit hygienist, last visit was the same, but with dental hygienist and dentist. This visit however, hygienist refused to cleaning after I refused deep cleaning. Stating that she would only polish my teeth. If you're looking to give $$$$$$ away, this is the perfect place for you. Don't bother going unless you like time shares.

This place definitely felt like a scam and they wanted to milk you as much as possible for your money. I got my teeth cleaned and it was not a thorough clean at all. They really tried to push a "deeper clean" which would have cost over $1000. Go somewhere else!

Excellent care and service here. Very professional staff and Dr. Tran is great! Had an enormous amount of work done in one day and Dr. Tran and team made it as painless and easy as possible. Highly recommend.

Dr. Tran is the best dentist I've ever had, and I've spent my whole life in dentist offices!! His staff is exceptional. They are so friendly and outgoing. They even helped me set up my voice mail on my new phone!! This is definitely the place to go if you need a dentist!!
