A Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry (ABPD) is a board certified pediatric dentist who has completed a graduate program accredited by CODA (Commission on Dental Accreditation) in the speciality of pediatric dentistry, whose credentials have been verified, who has successfully completed voluntary examinations of the ABPD, and who demonstrates specialized knowledge and skill. A Diplomate is dedicated to providing exceptional patient care through a voluntary commitment to lifelong learning. The ABPD is the only certifying board in the specialty of pediatric dentistry recognized by the American Dental Association and sponsored by the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry.
While in dental school I realized I had a passion for working with kids. I pursued further education earning a specialty certificate in pediatric dentistry. In addition, I am also board certified with the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. I enjoy skiing, golfing, running, cycling and just about any outdoor activity.
All orthodontists must be licensed to practice, but at this time only 1 in 3 orthodontists have continued on to complete Board Certification. The American Board of Orthodontics (ABO) certification process signifies a unique achievementa significant step beyond the two to three years of advanced education required for a dentist to become a specialist in orthodontics. The process requires the orthodontist to demonstrate actual accomplishments in patient care with detailed case reports on the treatment provided for a broad range of patient problems. Board certification is a voluntary achievement that all orthodontists do not choose to pursue. In order to become board certified by the ABO, an individual orthodontist is thoroughly interviewed by a highly respected panel of examiners to demonstrate their orthodontic knowledge, clinical skills and judgment.
Before dental school I worked for an orthodontist and absolutely loved it! What is not to like making smiles look wonderful and hanging out with kids. After dental school, I earned my Masters of Science in orthodontics. I love speaking with children about what bothers them about their teeth and working with them to achieve a beautiful smile. I am a Michigan Wolverine fan! I also enjoy cooking, skiing, golfing and being with my family. I have a passion for orthodontic research and always strive to provide evidence based care.
My passion for dentistry developed when I started volunteering at a free dental clinic in college.It fascinates me that we have to work in the precision of millimeters and how our work can dramatically change our patients lives. I enjoy facing the challenges in dentistry and find it rewarding to connect with my patients. I emphasize preventive, minimally invasive, and conservative dentistry. Before dental school, I attended Georgia State University, where I graduated with Summa Cum Laude in Biology. I then attended New York University, College of Dentistry, where I was awarded the Alumni Association Prosthetic Award. As a general practitioner, I strive to improve myself through continuing education constantly. I enjoy traveling, cooking, and spending time with my family and dog in my free time.
Very clean and friendly staff. Doctor took his time and answered all my questions. Even with three littles we were in and out just at the 45 minute mark. I have a 4, 3 and 1 year old. My oldest being special needs and none of them cried. All the staff explained everything to my kids and kept them in the same room so they wouldnt be scared or separated. We really loved this experience and are excited to have found such a great office for our kids!
Love this place! Staff are so friendly and great with the kids. My 12 yr old and 6 year old love it. My 6 year old is on the autism spectrum and had to get a cavity filled. Everything went so well, Dr James Busch and his assistants were amazing with him. Even with regular cleanings, our son remains so calm as the staff make him feel comfortable. Particularly impressed with Dr. Lauren Busch and her orthodontics team. Our 12 year old got braces off today and her smile is phenomenal. Such a family atmosphere, so glad we found this place. They are truly the best. So caring, so thorough, and front desk staff is just the sweetest and most helpful. The atmosphere could not be better for kids. Both doctors its amazing there really are people this kind, competent, patient, caring, and cheerful, and detailed. The techs are the same. Scheduling is easy, waiting room is awesome, shop much support, and great prices. How did we get so lucky?
