In 2007 I obtained my Doctorate of Dental Surgery from Columbia University College of Dental Medicine in New York City. During myfour years at Columbia, I heldseveral positions on Class Council and was involved with Student Government for thedental school.At Columbia, I wasone of the founding students of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentists Student Chapter. That experience helped me realize that Pediatric Dentistrywas a passion of mine and I wanted to pursue it as a specialty.To achieve my goal,I continued my dental education and training for an additional two years at Boston University Goldman School of Dental Medicine. At Boston University, I obtained my certificatein Pediatric Dentistry. During my time as apediatric dental resident,I had the opportunity to focus on anesthesia cases, work with special needs children in both a hospital and clinical setting. I was also able to reach out to many neighborhoods that would have otherwise not had access to care.
I have been practicing in the Sacramento region since 2009. From residency to my time in private practice, I have treated cases of varying complexity and I have found that there is always one common denominator.Children need something extra from their dental professional; someone who is able to understand and work withthem through their fears and concerns. Understanding and relating to how children are feeling makes the visit to the dental officethat much easier for them, and that ismy ultimate goal.
I am a Board Certified Diplomat by the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. I am also a proud member of the ADA, CDA, American Academy of Pediatric Dentists, California Society of Pediatric Dentists and Sacramento District Dental Society. With these professionalmemberships I am able to remainon the cutting edge of new technologies and philosophies within the practice of Pediatric Dentistry.
My husband and I met at UC Davis during our undergraduate education. We now have two funny crazy little boys that brighten up our world! In my free time I like to exercise and take advantage of the outdoors. As a family, we also love exploring new restaurants, which will accommodate two rambunctious toddlers, of course!
