Drs. Franco and Prices practice, DFW Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, has been accredited by the Joint Commission as an Office-Based Surgery facility since June 2011. Our oral surgeons and team are proud to be one of the few accredited Office-Based Surgery facilities in the Dallas, Texas, metroplex.
The Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) is an independent, non-profit, national body that oversees the safety and quality of health care and other services provided in accredited organizations. JCAHO is universally recognized as Americas premier accrediting body for hospitals and surgery centers. The Joint Commission performs an on-site survey of our facility every three years. This is a voluntary process that results in substantial expense to the practice. However, we believe that accreditation is in the best interest of our patients and team.
When an individual has any concerns about patient care and safety in the practice, which the practice has not addressed, he or she is encouraged to contact the practices management. If the concerns cannot be resolved through the practice, the individual is encouraged to contact the Joint Commission.

Pedro Franco, DDSDr. Pedro Franco was born in Cali, Colombia. He attended Pontificia Universidad Javeriana School of Dentistry, in Bogota, Colombia, where he earned his DDS degree and completed his oral and maxillofacial surgery residency. Following his surgical training in Colombia, Dr. Franco went to Loyola University Medical Center in Chicago completing an oral and maxillofacial training program under Drs. Mark Steinberg and Louis Mercuri. He then spent 15 months in a postgraduate fellowship program at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, with Dr. Larry Wolford. Following the fellowship, he returned to Colombia and built a successful private practice in Bogota, in addition to joining Pontificia Javeriana University as a clinical professor.
In 2000, Dr. Pedro Franco came back to Dallas and joined the oral and maxillofacial surgery faculty at Baylor College of Dentistry, Texas A & M University System Health Science Center. He was employed as a full-time professor instructing the undergraduate and graduate students on oral surgical techniques.
In his private practice, Dr. Franco practices the full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery with an emphasis in temporomandibular joint, or TMJ, reconstructive surgery. He has special interest in performing facial cosmetic and orthognathic jaw surgery, as well as placing dental implants. Dr. Franco has hospital privileges at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas.
In addition to his private practice, Dr. Franco travels to other countries on mission trips to treat patients with cleft lip and palate deformities, and children with craniofacial syndromes. He also lectures internationally on the topics of facial reconstruction, dental implants, temporomandibular joint, and orthognathic surgery.
Dr. Franco has many interests outside of his specialty. He enjoys running, cooking, and traveling. In addition to personal hobbies, he belongs to non-profit organizations such as Healing the Children and the United for Colombia. Further charitable activities include orchestrating and performing pro-bono medical care for patients from other countries who can benefit from advanced procedures and techniques offered in the U.S.
Dr. Jared Gilliland, DDSDr. Jared Gilliland was born in Mount Kisco, New York and raised in Dallas, Texas. After graduating from Baylor University with a B.S. in Biology, he attended Texas A&M Baylor College of Dentistry where he graduated with a Doctorate of Dental Surgery in 2017. Dr. Gilliland then moved to Oklahoma where he completed his training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Oklahoma.
Dr. Gilliland is a devoted husband and father and has many interests outside of the specialty. He is an active member of his church, enjoys cheering on his Baylor Bears and Oklahoma Sooners in basketball and football, and plays golf in his spare time.
Ahmed Zaidi, DMDDr Ahmed Zaidi grew up in Southern California and is a proud alumnus of the University of California Riverside where he earned a bachelors degree in Philosophy and Biology in 2007.He continued to attend Temple University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and graduated with a Doctorate of Dental Medicine in 2013. Dr Zaidi then began his Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Residency in 2015 at the Louisiana State University in Shreveport Louisiana where he graduated in June of 2019.
In his spare time, Dr Zaidi enjoys cooking with his family and exploring the great outdoors as well as traveling around the world and absorbing other cultures. In 2012 he embarked on a mission trip to Jamaica to treat patients with dental issues in rural areas. He plans on visiting more countries in the future to treat people in need that live in underserved areas. He avidly follows the latest tech news, constantly learning about the new and innovative technology.

After my first visit which went well, I was supposed to be followed by the patient and billing coordinator to schedule the surgery and give me an idea of the out of pocket cost. After several phone, I was given unprofessional excuses of the concerned person is in meeting or on vacation and no one bothered to follow up to tell me what is going on. When I called today to get my records so that I can see some other practice, they asked to fill a word document that will have to be approved by the doctor to release my record to me that will take 3 weeks for a turnaround. There is no online portal for me to access my own record and this is 2022.

I was very nervous as my 14 year old daughter was seen by Dr. Franco just this past week to get an expose and bond. I had no reason to be. Our initial visit the office staff were professional and very nice. Dr Franco and his assistant explained everything thoroughly. The day of surgery, everything was explained for after care. He did an awesome job with her.

I had a tooth removed today 9/14/22 in the morning. Honestly the impression that I have got from the front desk alone was awesome very professional, very nice to clientele and the back room staff were very cool also. I will definitely recommend this place.

This was a stressful time for our granddaughter, and everyone put her and us at ease from the first visit through the surgery (Mesquite TX). The front desk staff, assistants and the Dr were so calm and reassuring. They explained to us everything at our initial visit and then again after the surgery. On the day of her surgery to have her wisdom teeth removed everyone was so kind, calm and reassuring from the minute we walked in the door till we left. Bianca was a bit goofy on the way home and kept saying she just loved them they were so nice, kind and gentle and we must give them a 5-star rating, I agree with her they deserve a 5+++. I was already impressed with them, then that evening I was contacted by Dr Zaidi (via text) to check up on her and see how she was doing and to tell me if I had any questions or concerns to contact him, which really impressed me because it was after 8pm, now that is dedication I have not seen in many years. I would recommend this office to everyone. I want to thank everyone for easing her mind and making this a non-traumatic experience. Thank you so much and God Bless all of you. Great experience. I was nervous about getting my wisdom teeth removed, but Dr Gilliland eased my fears and performed the procedure extremely well. I barely felt any pain afterwards. Dr Gilliland even went out of his way to check up on me afterwards. I highly recommend him!

I had gone to several doctors and dentist before I was referred to Dr Franco. I was hesitant to go because he was an hour away but he was highly recommend so I went. He looked in my mouth for 2 seconds and was able to see what was wrong that nobody else had been able to in years. We scheduled surgery that day and after my surgery he called me to make sure I was doing ok, gave me his personal number and said to call or text if I needed anything. It was a tough recovery and I texted him ALOT. . He always responded no matter what time of the day/night. He made sure I wasn't in pain. Also, his office staff at all the locations were so nice and helpful! Very quick to respond and take care of you. Would highly recommend to anyone that's needs an oral surgeon! I had a wonderful experience today, I had my wisdom tooth removed; the tooth was impacted and causing sinus issues. I was worried I'd be in pain as this is an opioid free establishment (never had an opioid free procedure so I had questions), but the surgeon explained their new technology and put me at ease. He really knew what he was talking about and took the time to explain and answer all of my questions. I have PTSD from waking up wayyyy too early at Baylor, in major pain post op. That did not happen here! I was pain free the entire time, and I feel much better than I thought I would. The staff was very nice, and CLEAN! Super important as I have autoimmune disease and try to avoid dirty clinics at all costs. They're not Covid crazy, they allow your advocate/driver/guardian to wait for you in the building, important if you need a patient advocate like me! The surgeon was extremely knowledgeable and I felt very confident he knew what he was doing (rare if you have chronic health issues and see a lot of doctors/surgeons). Baylor has nothing on these guys! I cannot get over how clean and professional this experience was. The most important thing was that I felt safe, as a woman, under the care of this practice. They listen, care, are clean, communicate everything they are doing and why, are comforting, and professional. I 100% would recommend this practice! Thank you Dr. Zaidi :)
