Hello! I am a native and life-long Michiganian, growing up in southeast Michigan. Actually, before dentistry was ever on the radar for me, I was an automotive engineergraduating from University of Michigans College of Engineering. I toiled in the automotive plants and loved itI loved getting my hands dirty, I loved the teamwork and the problem solving to keep the line running, and I even loved the 80-hour weeks and getting up at 5am everyday. But the great recession in the mid-2000s put a damper on that, and in three years time I survived five rounds of layoffs. I knew one day my number would be up.
I decided to follow a bit in my fathers footsteps; he was also a dentist. Dental school was one of the toughest things I have ever done, but I truly loved it and knew I found what I was meant to do. In 2009, I finally made it through and earned my Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from the University of Detroit, Mercy.
After a one year tour as a general dentist for the Detroit VA Hospital, I decided to limit my scope to endodontics. I came back to the University of Michigan and honed my skills, earning a Masters of Science and my endodontic certificate in 2013.
For several years I did root canals with a group practice on the east side, and loved it. But things werent quite perfect yet, and so I decided to hang my own shingleand chose the community of Dexter as the place to call home for my practice. It truly has been the right decision, and I am so proud of how my career has evolved. I am so happy to be a part of the Dexter community, and I am grateful for how the community has welcomed me with open arms.

Literally one of the best dental experiences I have ever had. Period. If I ever need dental work done again then I know where to go! UPDATE: Went in again and the experience was somehow better! Would give 10/10 if possible. Also the dogs are adorable

Edit: really wanted to update this as I've seen Dr Healy a few times since my original review. Every time I come in I'm greeted with hugs and high fives. You feel like a member of a winning team when you come here. Each time I come back a different assistant sings an original song to me while I wait to be seen. It's like attending a personal concert each time. Little known fact. Dr Healy will wear a LION onesie if you ask him to ahead of time. It's great and something each and everyone of us should expirience at least once. Original visit: Doctor Healy was fantastic. They let me color and listen to recording of how to learn classical French dance in 2 easy steps during my procedure. I had some discomfort during my root canal and the staff all came and sang to me which was amazing. I was surprised by their near perfect pitch. I did however have some complications and doctor Healy called and checked on me over the next few days. When he found out that I was having trouble sleeping he called me again later that night and read me a bedtime story. I can't say enough great things about this place and if you think this is at all made up then you would be incorrect as I really did get a root canal. Would come back again for sure!

Dr. Healy is amazing! I highly recommend this office to anyone in need of endodontic treatment. The entire process from scheduling the appointment to being treated in the chair was seamless. Dr. Healy takes the time to explain and answer all questions. Extremely professional doctor and staff!

Dr. Healy and his staff are the best. I had no idea what to expect at my appointment. He walked me through it all. He is awesome!! He even called me personally to check up on me the next day. If you need an endodontist, his office is the one to go to.

Doc stayed late to do root canal - he fixed me up quickly and painlessly. Repeat customer,. Dr. Healy has great facility and staff, and is at the top of his profession. Highly Recommend!

Clean, friendly and professional! I had an older root canal and internal infection that had to be "re-done" prior to a crown replacement. The office was clean, very aware and encouraged safety protocol with Covid 19 and easy to work with. They walked me through all steps of my procedures and visits and my appointments all ran on time. Dr. Healey even called himself during the holiday weekend (Independence Day) to check on me and a repeated call a few days later from his staff. While root canals are not the most fun (I have had 3 now), the office put me at ease and did an outstanding job!

I've seen Dr. Healy four times now. Some of the work was routine (if you can call root canal treatment routine) and other work was a little out of the ordinary. Regardless of what was being done, it was completed with expertise and compassion. Dr. Healy also excelled when he selected his staff--simply topnotch. The level of technology at Dexter Endodontics is impressive. He has all the tools and instruments you would hope your specialist would have. No one likes hearing the two words "root canal"... but it's good to know that there's a great team of professionals to help those who do. I highly recommend Dr. Healy and his staff for their skill and professionalism, and how attuned they are to their patients' needs.
