Dr. Matt DeVaney was raised in Northern Guilford county and graduated from NW High School. He received his BS in Business fromWake Forest Universitybefore attending and graduating fromUNC School of Dentistryin 1999.
Dr. DeVaney opened the doors of Oak Ridge Dentistry in 2001. His focus has remained providing the highest level of quality clinical treatment and service to the patients of DeVaney Dentistry while participating in the most challenging continuing education available.
His commitment to education and cosmetic dentistry was recognized when he was invited to be a visiting faculty member of theSpear Institute, ranked the #1 provider of advanced dental education by dentists. This honor is exclusive to Dr. DeVaney in the Triad area. Dr. DeVaney completed 216 hours of implant surgery training in 2013 at Triangle Dental Institute and is now a fellow of theInternational Congress of Oral Implantologists. He is also certified by the NC State Board of Dental Examiners to administer IV and oral conscious sedation and is a member of theDental Organization for Conscious Sedation (DOCS).
Dr. DeVaney utilizes a team of the best periodontist, orthodontist, oral surgeon and plastic surgeons in the Triad area to achieve maximum results. From a deficient chin to a gummy smile to undersized lips, your complex case can be resolved with fabulous results.
In his free time, Dr. DeVaney spends time with his children: Alexis, Chase, Chloe and Grant. He also enjoys a little physical conditioning, coaching his sons football team, spending time in the NC Mountains and on his small farm in Stokes County.
Dr. Scott Vines earned his dental degree from the University of North Carolina School of Dentistry and then completed a two-year General Practice Residency at the University of Texas Medical Center in Houston. Dr. Vines has been in private practice since 1998 until he recently joined Dr. DeVaney. He is the type of person that upholds the professional ideals of quality care and has an intense concern for the welfare of his patients.
Dr. Vines over the last twenty-one years has served on various committees and councils for both the State Dental Society as well as local Societies. He served on the Board of Trustees for the North Carolina Dental Society for eight years and was the Annual Session Chair in 2015.
He has been the President of both the Third District and the Rockingham County Dental Societies. He is a former board member of the University of North Carolina Dental Alumni Association Board of Directors. Before and while in dental school he was active in scientific research and has co-authored over 20 abstracts and papers. He is a member of the American Dental Association, The Academy of General Dentistry and the Federation of Special Care. He has Fellowships in the American Association of Hospital Dentist, the International College of Dentist and the Pierre Fauchard Academy.
In our local community, Dr. Vines currently is the Chair of the Annie Penn Hospital Advisory Board. He served nine years on the Rockingham County Board of Health, he has volunteered monthly over the last twenty years at the Rockingham County Free Clinic. He has been the local coordinator for six NC Dental Societys Mission of Mercy projects which provides free dental care to the adult undeserved population of our state. He and his staff have volunteered with the Give Kids a Smile program each year since 1998 and he also volunteered yearly for sixteen years with the Christinas Smile mobile dental van.
Dr. Vines is married to Dr. Tiffany L. Roberson, a general dentist and former classmate. They have two wonderful sons, Connor and Brayden. He is the Scoutmaster at a local Boy Scout Troop, and has coached recreation soccer for the past five years.
I always have a really good experience at their office. Despite having to have another crown put in, Dr. DeVaney is very professional and the staff is great. Amanda and Valerie are outstanding at making you feel comfortable and they have great personalities. Easily the best Dentist office I have been too.
I HATE going to the dentist but Dr. DeVaney and his staff always make it as comfortable/painless as possible. They've been able to squeeze me in with little notice on multiple occasions. Highly recommended!
My Family has been coming here since the kids were born. Matt, Julie, Ashley, everyone has gone out of their way to answer questions or help solve any need Ive ever had. A great and talented group of people that truly care about their clients.
What an outstanding experience at DeVaney Dentistry. The front office / reception staff was so kind and helpful before I even set foot in the door, with the constant communication being a new patient. Once I arrived. I have never felt more welcomed or valued at an office.
I recently had a crown placed at Dr DeVaneys office in Oakridge. My experience was wonderful! He made sure I was comfortable and didnt feel a thing! The same day procedures are a plus for my busy schedule. The staff is comforting and always available to address concerns as well explain treatments and outcomes.
The dentists, the front desk staff and the dental tech I've seen at this office are all extremely kind and helpful. I cannot find words for how grateful I am to have found such good dentists in my area! Highly recommended.

The ladies at Devaney Denttstry at the Brassfield location are awesome! Cady and Tina made sure I was comfortable and all my needs were met with a smile and Kim was available for any insurance questions. Will definitely be calling on them again with any future dental needs.

We love to go to Michelle to have our teeth cleaned, she lets us chose what flavor she's going to use and let's us wear funny sunglasses while she works on our teeth!!

I have been going here for about a year now and this is by far the best dentistry. Maria that cleans my teeth is so great! She explains what she is doing and is very caring. She has taken such good care of me on every visit. I wouldn't go anywhere else. The ladies in the office are so nice and so helpful. There is no other dentistry better than this!

I love everything about the practice. Especially their most experienced dental hygienist. I can't remember her name but she is not that tall. Absolutely love her. Super professional, great hands and skills.

The DeVaney Dentistry team goes above and beyond to provide excellent dental care, from the moment you walk in until you are completely satisfied with their work! Everyone at DeVaney Dentistry treats you with the utmost respect, is extremely personable, and the office provides a wonderful environment for what people generally do not like to go do...dental work. From the smiles, the comfortable seating, ambient music, and flat screen TVs, they make your appointment just about as relaxing and comfortable as possible. I would highly recommend DeVaney Dentistry to anyone in the Greensboro area. You can tell that they truly care about your health.

My hygienist Maria was very informative and thorough during my visit. Dr. Vines was very nice, and easy to talk to. I'm not always thrilled to go to the dentist, but they made the process very comfortable for me. Probably mine and my husband's best dentist visits ever!

DeVaney Dentistry; my dentist office for a while now. Staff here is always friendly. Julie my hygienist does a good job. Always answers all my questions. Tina helped me today with all my insurance questions while getting ready for future testament.. Today I visited Brassfield DeVaney office for my scheduled procedure with Dr.Vines. It was a long procedure but Dr.Vines took his time to keep me comfortable. Cady Finley, dental assistant took great care of me providing all the necessary information and answering all my questions. Thank you for taking excellent care of me today.

I do not mind going to the dentist, never have. When I met Dr. Vines a year ago I was impressed with his calm and caring demeanor in addition to not pushing the latest trendy fads. The glue of the office is Erin who handles the front area but is not above donning scrubs and assisting. I became a huge fan of Dr. Vines after a filling restoration on 17 and a root canal on 19 followed by a crown. All went flawlessly. By that I mean, no after effects. Cady assisted on the restoration and the final crown installation. Excellent patient care and knowledge in addition to a great working relationship with the office. ZERO problems afterwards which is unheard (or unfelt) of afterwards. Amber assisted on the root canal. The precision and quality control practiced by Dr. Vines of well the best as I have ever encountered. For being so unassuming and calm, he knows what he is doing, does it and his work is beyond reproach. What sets this office apart from other practices, really sets it apart is the great working relationship among all there. This is a result of Dr. Vines leadership and management acumen. DeVaney Dentistry is lucky to have Dr. Vines and the great staff he has assembled. It functions like a finely oiled sewing machine with all parts working in unison. In addition, Marie does the periodic cleaning and overall review with precision and caring. Do yourself a favor and give DeVaney Dentistry @ Brassfield a try!
