Dr. Arlene Baluyut is a graduate of the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry in Lexington, Kentucky. Dr. Baluyut graduated in 1985 with the highest distinction in her class. She proceeded to complete two years of the General Practice Residency at the Chandler Medical Center, where she was the Chief Resident 1986-1987. 'Dr.B', as her patients call her, has three children, Ryan, Kellie, and Logan.
Dr. Baluyut is originally from the Philippine Islands. She attended high school in Peru, Indiana. She did her pre-dental studies at the University of Kentucky, where she also played basketball for the Lady Wildcats. She continues her involvement with the youth as she has coached basketball for the Franklin County High School girls varsity, Lexington Catholic Middle School girls, and AAU traveling teams. She is also involved in church and several civic organizations in the community.

Jhen joined our team as a Dental Assistant in 2007, shortly after moving to the United States from the Philippines. She divides her time between the Frankfort and Louisville offices, and works hard in both places to make sure you have a comfortable visit. Jhen keep the clinical operations running smoothly and is always ready with the camera to show you your perfect Lumineers Smiles! Jhens co-workers are working to keep her affinity for chocolate at a manageable level.
While Abby has been a patient of Dr. Bs for 25 years, she only joined the Designing Smiles team in January of 2011. She has since been trained as both a dental assistant, and in front office procedures. She coordinates patient visits and treatments, and ensures that every person who walks through our door is greeted with a friendly smile. Abby and her husband of 20 years have two teenage children that keep them very busy - and tired!

I wanted to share my experience regarding my dental care. First let me start off by saying I really do not like going to the dentist. I am terrified to see a dentist. I get so worked up it kills my entire week. Days before the appointment I can't rest days after I can't rest. Well that stopped! The staff was great and the doctor was great. I had a great experience with Dr. Arlene R. Baluyut (AKA Dr. B.). I was reassured that the process work be relaxing since I chose to have sedation. They wrote me a prescription for medication I picked it up and took it with me to the office. They gave me the medication and kept checking on me asking if I was OK and comfortable. My reply was yes and they started doing the work. I never truly recalled the full experience so to me that was great! They did a full root canal and to be honest it was the very FIRST time I was happy to go and the results were great.

Dr. B and her team are amazing. I used to hate the dentist and would be nervous before. I don't have to worry about that now with dr. B and her team. She doesn't wait until something is wrong for her to fix it, which is amazing because dental pain is the most terrifying thing to me. I can't express how thankful I am for her and her team.

The building wasnt very clean. It was very unorganized. The woman that looked at my tooth to fix it took a guess as to what was needed to be done. Then wouldnt work with me on a payment plan afterwards. Avoid this place unless its absolutely all you have left.

I had a dentist and they quit carrying my insurance. I called them this morning they immediately fit me in and it was so clean, so nice, the staff was so nice. Dr. Baluyut was so nice she highly impressed me. I go back in 2 weeks. Defenitely reccomend if you dont have a dentist.

I didn't have an appointment and was having HORRIBLE dental pain. They squeezed me in same day and took care of me in less than 3 hours. So grateful, and I will recommend to all my family and friends. Thank you all SO much!

I hate to admit that I was petrified of Dentists for years. I am so happy to say that those days are no longer. Since coming over to Dr. B's office, I have found a caring, friendly staff, that is (was) sympathetic to my fears, and have made me afraid of the dentist no longer. They explained everything, did wonderful work, and I am so happy to say that my teeth are fixed, and I am now in maintenance mode. Because of my fear of dentists, I neglected my teeth for a long time, to my detriment, but I have never been judged by Dr. B, or anyone in her office. I have only heard encouragement, and even though it's uncomfortable at times, Dr. Balyut and her staff have me well on the way back to redesigning my smile. I highly recommend Designing Smiles. I am a now a happy and dedicated patient.

I have had an amazing experience! Dr. B and her staff have been nothing but professional and kind. Today, I cried, but for a good reason. She gave me a part of my life back today that I thought was lost. Even though right now, I only have a temporary bridge, my smile looks amazing! Thank you Dr. B and your staff for all you have done so far!

Great service, great attitudes, great environment! The Dentist cares about her patients/her staff and it shows. That same care and attentiveness echos throughout the entire staff. I felt like I was just another "member" of their family while in the office. I highly recommend this office for anyone looking for a dentist!

Excellent job today. Very patient and took great care of the work they did. I hate needles, but she was very nice, took her time and explained every step. She also uses a small needle so mostly all I felt was pressure. Thanks to the staff that held my hand through it and assisted with other work. 5 stars to you all.

Noone likes going to the dentist, it can be painful, frustrating, and time consuming. So it's nice when you find a dentist that tries to make the experience as positive as it can be. Knowledgeable staff, who can guide and suggest multiple options. Honest answers about how to have better oral health, without being overly negative or sugar-coating it. Flexible on scheduling and appointments( as much as anyone can be). Willing to try and find payment solutions and assistance if they are able. Dr. B and the staff at Designing Smiles are kind, friendly, and certainly worth considering for your Dental care.

I have had a big fear of the dentist since I was a kid and an adult, but since I started going to Designing Smiles I have had less and less fear. The staff are very friendly and caring. I have been seeing Dr B. On and off for over 25 years. I love her. She does Quality work and her staff is great. Everyone is so friendly... I would highly recommend Designing Smiles to anyone needing dental care.

Even though it's usually not a pleasant experience to go to a dentist I appreciate their real concern for me . Treated like VIP. Doc B is honest and relatable . Also this is a very diverse office . When you call a real person answers . It's quiet too no chaos . Jenn Daisy the whole staff are there because they choose to be . Genuine

So just let me tell ya! Designing Smiles has the most awesome staff, they are very welcoming, eager to help and always ready to assist in any way they Can't say enough about Doctor B. She's simply the best. She's so down to earth. So has so much experience in the dental field that she answers all my questions and does such great work. I couldn't be happier with my visits here.
