Went for my first appointment. Dr Chao is VERY thorough. I've had a handful of Dentists since being a kid. He is of the most thorough I've seen. He went through my mouth in DETAIL and was attentive to my questions. He was recommended by several people in community I respect as well as another dental provider in Tucson.

My wife and I have had excellent dental care with Desert Villa Dental for about 6 years. My wife is in a very advanced stage of dementia and Daisy (hygienist) has always treated her with utmost care and respect. Dr. Chao and Dr. Charpentier have each treated me for new crowns and cavities. They were both very professional and courteous. During my most recent visit a week ago for a crown replacement, Dr. Charpentier and his dental assistant, Pauline were very patient with me wanting to make sure the new crown fit perfectly. I highly recommend this practice to anyone.

It's 1 March. Had an exam 21 Feb with a promise they'd call me to schedule a cleaning. Never got one. Of course I have to call them to give them my money. Today's business world model... The super underenthusiastic receptionist (needs a hug) gave me a 7 July appt. I asked if it was 2022 o 2023, she wasn't amused. Good Lord, 135 days out from the initial exam! What's up Dr. Chao?

Daisy is super great with my cleaning twice a year. I've been going to her for 3-4 years; I feel like I've known her much longer. I met Dr Chao for the first time last week. I was quite pleased how he handled my dental problem. If you're dentist shopping, I highly recommend him!

I am a new patient. Just arrived from the San Francisco Bay Area. Marin County. And a very seasoned dental patient. I was very impressed with my first visit. A special shout out to dental hygienist Pauletta who did an amazing job. Very kind and very skilled. And I felt safe as far as covid19 concerns. I highly recommend the team at Desert Villa.

Bottom Line: An extraction by Dr. Chau on February 25, 2020 of an infected 6 year molar left me with nerve damage manifested in a numb chin, lip and teeth. Was this caused by infection, extraction difficulty or? In my opinion Dr. Chau should have referred me to an oral surgeon. The extraction was not easy, the results are so very unpleasant and after being hopeful the situation would improve I now think I will have to adjust to the damage.

Signed a release for past medical records in November for my January appt. Staff could not secure them from previous office. After much persistence on my part we secured my xrays 3months later. For my initial appointment staff never told me that they never cleanyour teeth. Instead its a meet & greet. Lastly 2 days prior to my January appointment staff called to tell me they could not verify my dental insurance coverage. What? and I should do my best in resolving the problem myself What?. I did and left this practice before I began! Nobody cares how competent the Dentist is if staff treats somebody in this way. Maybe the Dentist does not know what goes on behind the scenes? Well in my opinion he should. It was inconceivable to me that staff could not problem resolve these administrative challenges. Thus I did not entrust them to care for my dental health.

I made an appointment which consisted of me only getting X-rays. This took an hour. The woman seemed unsure. She seemed maybe too comfortable with me. They recommended a cleaning. I have NEVER been to a dentist who didn't automatically clean my teeth, that's why I went!!! They tried to reschedule me for later that day. It honestly just felt chaotic and unorganized. Please go somewhere else.

I have a gagging reflex and I'm not a fan of X-ray but I don't know the blonde long hair girls name she put her hand on my shoulder and told me to take deep breaths and made me feel at ease and comfortable. I also noticed when another assistant called her for help she ran to them and brought back something they forgot again running she goes above and beyond great assistants and doctor. First time there

I have a gagging reflex and I'm not a fan of X-ray but I don't know the blonde long hair girls name she put her hand on my shoulder and told me to take deep breaths and made me feel at ease and comfortable. Dr. Chao is great. He listens and answers any questions. When i was in extreme pain, staff got me in quickly. Daisy has been cleaning my teeth for 12 or 13 years. She is wonderful.

I have been seeing Dr. Chao for over 6 years now and can say that Dr. Chao is one of the best dentist in southern Arizona. Dr. Chao has been practicing for over 10 years and comes from one of the top dental schools in the country USC. I trust his dental work, experience, and always has my best interest at heart. I feel he is very honest with my dental needs and performs procedures with ease and quality. I travel close to 30 miles to see him, and I do not regret the commute. Office staff is friendly and the hygienist great at doing gentle cleaning for my sensitive teeth.

Dr Chao is always caring and helpful. They are also really good about respecting my scheduled time. The techs are also really friendly and good at what they do.
