I will start off by saying the staff here has always been very professional great with my child in the past! Recently my child had to have a procedure done that they assured me would be no longer than 3 hours. We arrived 10 minutes before our 10:30 appointment, my daughter was given the "juice" to relax her and weren't even put back into a room until 1:00 p.m. Once we were put back they gave her numbing gel with was left in her mouth for an hour while we waited for the doctor to come in. When she finally came in, she did apologize for the wait and stated, "typically, we book with the intention that not everyone will show up, and today everyone showed up!" Which was a little upsetting that it seemed more important to have a quantity over quality of care for the kids. She did let me know that she would be doing all the work that day, so I wouldn't have to come back for another 3 hour visit, which again, was kind of off putting, since I had to take a full day off work for this visit, that the dentist had recommended be done as soon as possible. Also, while the dentist was doing the procedure, she was rushed and very rough. I do understand that you have to run a business, but not at the cost of good quality of care!

My son was seen by Dr. Uma Imtiaz on 5/3/2022. I made an appointment via phone call on 3/18/2022 and confirm with the person on the phone that the provider is within my insurance. I received a notice from my insurance company on 5/23/2022 stating that the provider was inactive. I contacted my insurance company and I was informed that Dr. Uma Imtiaz has been inactive effective 3/17/2022. Now, I have to pay out of my pocket because someone in their office did not confirm correctly. Well, I will not be able to go back anymore but I am NOT going back even if I can OR recommend this place to anyone. Plus, I wasn't impressed with their service either.

Waited weeks for an appointment for filings, after arriving didn't get seen for an hour then told her medicine wouldn't kick in for another hour then the procedure would take the normal 3 hours. Not to mention there was another patient needing teeth pulled ahead of me so it would of taken another hour to start our procedure after hers. I've never waited at any dentist for so long, especially for an adhd toddler to wait that long is ridiculous. Hire more than one doctor.

This review is about two recent encounters with Desert Valley Pediatric Dentistry- Arrowhead. Our first encounter went standard initially. The dentist seemed nice. When it came to the estimate for the treatment he said "you have ACCHS right?" When I said no he asked if I was a single mother. I blew off the comments and scheduled the appointment for dental work under anesthesia for my 4 year old anyway. The second encounter was for the pre anesthesia visit. They confused us with another patient. They did not know why we there. The staff member entered the room and began a health history questionnaire. They did not verify name and date of birth. She did not listen to the answers and asked the same question again and again. She then stated "you are his foster mom right?" To which I replied No. She then asked "Are you his real mom". Yes I am. Going over the instructions for the procedure under anesthesia she stated he would be back there for 3 hours. The dentist stated 30-45 minutes. She stated they quote this amount of time as several procedures will be happening. She then reviewed the quote and stated you have ACCHS right? I canceled his procedure after this. I am a Caucasian woman with a biracial (Caucasian/African American) son. Let me be clear I acknowledge the need for state insurance and the foster care system. I understand it's value and support the use. However I am appalled this clinic assumed I was single mother with state assistance or that I was his foster mother. I felt as though they profiled my son and I due to his race. That coupled with the fact the staff member did not verify HIPAA and had me sign consent for anesthesia (without ever meeting the anesthesiologist). Not to mention several "procedures" will be happening at the same time therefore my son would be under anesthesia for 3 hours. As an educated registered nurse, I am incredibly offended and angered by these interactions. Thankfully my son did not pick up on these comments. My son deserves respect. I deserve respect. I care about the safety of the community and I cannot recommend this dentist office.
