Dr. Donovan Hansen grew up in west Mesa, Arizona. After graduating from Westwood High School, he completed his pre-dental coursework & graduated Summa Cum Laude from ASU, with a BS in Nutrition. He was accepted to the University of Colorado School of Dental Medicine, where he studied & received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. He was awarded the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (AAOMS) Dental Student Award prior to graduation, & was accepted for Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery specialty training at the University of Rochester Medical Center in New York. His residency training focused on office-based oral surgery, dental extractions, implants, bone grafting, corrective jaw (orthognathic) surgery, facial trauma, temporomandibular joint (TMJ) surgery. He also received extensive training in intravenous (IV) and general anesthesia with the Department of Anesthesiology.
Dr. Hansen has published scholarly papers & textbook chapters on topic s including procedural sedation, facial trauma, & pathology. He enjoys the outdoors, including hiking, watersports, snowboarding, fishing & scuba diving.
Dr. Hansen is a board-certified Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He is also certified in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life support (PALS), and is an American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Instructor.

I had my wisdom teeth removed at Desert Valley OS and they were amazing! All my appointments started right on time, the staff are wonderful, and the office itself is beautiful and clean. I was very nervous the day of my surgery and everyone was understanding and reassuring. They provided instructions for before and after the surgery as well as post surgery supplies (plus lip balm and a nice pen!), and are ready to answer questions if needed. If I need any future help from an oral surgeon I will definitely come here.

Dr Hansen has removed two teeth and performed one implant for me. He is an extremely competent oral surgeon, but he really excels at pain management. Once the needle goes in, the pain is going to be minimal. After each of my procedures I went home and only took one pain pill. Next day, ready to go.

At first I was scared to get all my wisdom teeth removed, but I'm glad I went through with it. I had a smooth procedure. Everyone was super friendly and nice. I definitely recommend this company.

I love these people all of them! They took excellent care of me, very professional very loving and kind. Treated me like family the first day I met them. The surgeon was so very gentle and kind. I would highly recommend them to anyone needing oral surgery.

Dr. Hansen and his wonderful staff helped me through the entire process of having 2 wisdom teeth removed after the age of 35. They were so kind and made me feel very comfortable. I will always use and recommend his practice. They care and it shows :)

Great doctor and a wonderful office staff! Zero issues with bringing my 8 month old son with me, which I thought would be a problem and it was the complete opposite. They were so sweet and loving towards him! Would highly recommend to others.

Amazing experience, was nervous about getting all four wisdom teeth removed, but the staff was amazing and made me feel at ease. Doctor Hanson is a rockstar, everything healed up great and fast, didn't even really need to use any pain meds at all. Would hands down recommend to anyone if they want an amazing dental surgeon and experience.

I love this place. My daughter had her wisdom teeth out and the office staff and Dr. Hansen were amazing. My daughter was nervous about the procedure and they made the whole experience very pleasant. A huge thank you. I will definitely be back with my younger daughter!! You are the best!!

Donovan Hansen D.D.S. is the best oral surgeon in the valley! I was so scared of being put under for 30 minutes to have a impacted wisdom tooth pulled it was over before I knew it he took the time to answer any questions or concerns! We were very pleased with Dr Donovan. My daughter had wisdom teeth removed, the operation went without any complications whatsoever. We heard stories from friends who went elsewhere to other providers and the aftermath was not so easy as it was for my daughter. We would recommend Dr Donovan whole heartedly!
