As the founder and sole owner of Desert Shores Dentistry, I strive to provide my patients with exceptional dental care and the most up-to-date equipment that the industry offers. The Desert Shores Dentistry staff and I treat our patients with great care and compassion and ensure that our patients dental health is maintained and at its best. In order to ensure that our patients dental health needs are continuously met, each patient is provided with an individualized care plan that is custom tailored to meet their specific needs. My goal is to provide my patients with a low stress environment, in which they can maintain their dental health without feeling anxious or worried. Dr. Bradley J. Sandvik graduated in 1996 with honors from Montana State University in Bozeman, Montana obtaining a Bachelor of Science in biology. During his undergraduate years, he was selected and inducted into both the Mortar Board Honors Society and the Order of Omega Honors Society. He was also honored with the Montana State University Alumni Chamber of Commerce Award for Excellence.
Dr. Sandvik furthered his education by obtaining a doctorate in dental medicine from Oregon Health Sciences University in 2001, graduating with high honors and clinical honors. Only one of a select few, Dr. Sandvik was inducted into the Omicron Alpha Upsilon Dental Honors Society. At graduation, he was bestowed the Academy of General Dentistry Senior Student Award and the Pacific Coast Society of Prosthodontics Dr. Fred E. Gulick Memorial Award.
Rather than go directly into private practice at this point, Dr. Sandvik pursued and was selected for a highly competitive residency program, entering the Audie L. Murphy Veterans Hospital Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) program in San Antonio, Texas. During his residency, Dr. Sandvik received extensive training in complex restorative and esthetic dentistry, periodontal and oral surgery, advanced endodontics, and implant dentistry. Upon completion of rotations in the hospital anesthesia department and the operating room, Dr. Sandvik became certified in providing IV conscious sedation for use in the dental environment.
After completing his AEGD residency, Dr. Sandvik relocated to Phoenix where he strengthened his abilities as a general dentist by becoming an associated dentist at Cactus Family Dentistry and Legacy Dental Group with his close friend and colleague, Dr. Louis Core. In December of 2004, he became the founder and sole owner of Desert Shores Dentistry in Ahwatukee, where he resides with his family.
In April of 2007, Dr. Sandvik was presented with the Spirit of Compassion Award by the Office of the Attorney General of the State of Arizona for his volunteer work with the victims of crime. He has also worked with the Give Kids a Smile program, a volunteer effort of practicing dentists through the American Dental Association.
Throughout his career, Dr. Sandvik has continued his pursuit of knowledge as a member and active participant in many dental organizations and study clubs. He holds memberships in the American Dental Association, Arizona State Dental Association, American Dental Society of Anesthesiology, American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, and the Academy of General Dentistry. He is an also active participant in Spears Study Club and the Foothills study club and logs over one hundred hours of continuing education annually.
Not only does he study what others have to teach, but he, too, shares what he knows with other dentists. Dr. Sandvik has given lectures pertaining to emergency medical management, complex implant restorative, esthetic restorative care, and advanced restorative treatment techniques. Most recently, he lectured to the Southern California Academy of General Dentistry and the Western Society of Periodontology and has been invited back to speak again this coming February.
In 2007, Dr. Sandvik became a Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry, an honor earned by fewer than seven percent of practicing dentists in the United States. Since that time, he has been working diligently towards obtaining his Mastership in the Academy and plans on being eligible for the award in 2012.

Infection control in our office is also very important to us. To protect our patients and ourselves, we strictly maintain sterilization and cross contamination processes using standards recommended by the American Dental Association (ADA), the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), and the Center for Disease Control (CDC).

I came to desert shores dentistry full of anxiety. I had been putting off two root canals for years because I was scared to have the procedure. My first meeting with Dr. Sandvik, he calmly explained steps of the procedure and how he was qualified for the surgery. He gives lectures on how to properly do root canals! After that first evaluation, my nerves were all but gone and I can happily say that both root canals went perfectly. The staff here, from receptionist to dentists are all professional and kind. They treat you like family. I cannot recommend this dentist enough.

Today, February 18, 2020 Dr. Sandvik and Misty finished the last phase of my entire mouth restoration - replacing all of my teeth with crowns, vaneers, 2 implants and realigning my bite plane in the process!! Unbelievable workmanship!! I never thought my smile would be so beautiful after years of my teeth deteriorating!!! Now I cannot stop smiling!!! Will post my before and after pics when I get them in 2 weeks. I cannot thank Dr. Sandvik and Misty enough for all their hard work and time to complete my beautiful transformation!!! I highly recommend Desert Shores Dentistry, Dr. Bradley Sandvik, Misty and his entire staff for any and all of your dental needs!!! Never fun going to the Dentist to have oral surgery done - Dr. Bradley Sandvik and his highly educated team create a caring and calming atmosphere. Continually communicating with me throughout the entire procedure to make sure I am ok. I highly recommend Dr. Sandvik and the Desert Shores Dentistry!! Gentle approach to dentistry.

I've been going to Dr. Sandvik for about two years and I cannot say enough good things about him. I've never encountered a more skilled, thorough and caring dentist. When I first started going here I had a number of issues that needed to be addressed. He took photos inside my mouth and explained to me each thing that needed to be done and why. He takes a very conservative approach but also prepares you for all the potential things that could happen when he presents you with treatment options. He has done a number of crowns, a crown for an implant and an emergency root canal for me all with fantastic results. I have always has a lot of anxiety about going to the dentist because of past bad experiences and I'm finally to the point where when I go in I'm completely calm. I've started taking my kids to him (ages 12, 11 and 8) and they really like him. Also his hygienist Leah is amazing (especially with the kids) and his assistant Misty is fantastic. When my 12 year old had to get a number of teeth extracted it was a very positive experience as well. No one likes going to the dentist but I can tell you from lots of experience that there is no better dentist out there!

I have seen his results first hand and I can attest to his quality of dental care. Five years ago we both enrolled in a multi-year study club where we met biannually and gave presentations to the dentists in the group on the cases we completed using the new techniques we learned in the study club. After having seen his ability to diagnose complicated dental conditions, formulate multiple logical treatment plans, and his final result obtained, I can highly recommend his services. I own a dental practice in Scottsdale and I've asked Dr. Sandvik to come to my office to provide IV sedation services to some of my patients. I never hesitate to refer patients to his office when they need an Ahwatukee dental office.
