Assisting Dr. Jugan is a team of certified oral and maxillofacial surgical assistants who administer anesthetic, are on hand during surgery, and who monitor patients before and after procedures. They set patients at ease by answering their questions and explaining procedures.
Last but not least is Dr. Milan Jugan. Dr. Jugan is an oral and maxillofacial surgeon who specializes in oral surgery, extractions, and implants for patients in and around Palm Desert, La Quinta, and Indio, CA as well as the rest of the Coachella Valley. He is a strong advocate for patient education and comfort, both physical and emotional. Dr. Jugans minimally-invasive approach is less taxing on patients and promotes efficient healing. He always works closely with patients to ensure they understand all of the options available to them and to help them make the best choice for their specific situation.
Milan J. Dugan, DMD has been practicing oral and maxillofacial surgery at the Desert Maxillofacial Center in the Coachella Valley since 2013. Prior to joining us, Dr. Jugan served as a general dentist aboard ship with the U.S. Navy for 20 years and as a clinical instructor at two of the U.S. Navys oral & maxillofacial surgery residency programs for 12 years.
Originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Dr. Jugan received his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree in 1992 from the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine and completed a four-year residency program in oral and maxillofacial facial surgery at Naval Medical Center Portsmouth in 2002. He received advanced Fellowship training at the University of Alabama at Birmingham in facial cosmetic surgery.
It was Dr. Jugans time in the Navy that first led to an interest in oral and maxillofacial surgery due in part to his naval experiences with and exposure to facial reconstruction. His training and skills were tested and honed as he treated and reconstructed facial injuries suffered by active duty personnel during combat operations. Dr. Jugan served aboard amphibious assault ships USS NASSAU and USS BOXER as well as the aircraft carriers USS RONALD REAGAN and USS GEORGE WASHINGTON. He later deployed in direct support of Operations Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom.
Dr. Jugan is board-certified by the American Board of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery and the National Dental Board of Anesthesiology and is currently serving a term as an examiner for the American Board of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery. He frequently lectures to general dentists and oral & maxillofacial surgeons on topics ranging from management of facial trauma to esthetic facial surgery and has published several articles and book chapters related to these topics.
Dr. Jugan is an active member of the American Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons, the California Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons, the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology, the American Dental Association, the California Dental Association, and the San Diego County Dental Society. Affiliated with Desert Regional Medical Center, in Palm Springs, CA, he cooperates with other doctors and specialists in the medical group Emergency Associates Corporation.

Great with getting me in quickly. The front office staff couldn't have been friendlier. Dr Milan Jugan was wonderful, knowledgeable, reassuring, great humor and the doctors assistants were beyond helpful and very competent. Honestly this is the best possible experience that I could've had in a difficult situation.

During the removal of wisdom teeth, I woke up from the anesthesia didn't hurt but was weird. Also took a very long time for them to heal and still had nerve pain for a few months after. The worst part was I paid for the removal of my wisdom teeth during a check-up about 3 weeks before the removal (so I paid upfront) and then 3 months after the removal they sent me a bill for $3k. After a month and negotiations, they settled with $1.1k and threatened collections if not paid. IDK how during the 3 weeks they didn't check with my insurance if it was covered and only did it after. Wisdom teeth removal wasn't necessary or emergency I could have waited.

By far the worst dentist experience I've ever had. I was recommended by a dentist in my area to dr jugen mind you I live 2 hours away from him. I had my appointment scheduled for 2 weeks and they constantly sent me texts to remind me that it was at 3 pm. Come the day of the appointment one of his assistants calls me an hour and 40 minutes before my appt to ask if I can make it at 2:40 because dr jugen decided to leave early. They ask that whoever you bring with you has proof of vaccination but they don't care if the patient itself is vaccinated, pretty dumb if you ask me. Fast forward to me getting my X-rays done the assistant asks me to remove all my earring. I have 12 of them and they are the semi permanent kind. So it took me at least 15 minutes of frustration to get those out. Then I proceed to a separate room to wait for the dr jugen, he was extremely uncaring and monotone with me, he didn't even greet me when he walked in he just went straight to the computer and began talking. He literally talked to me for about 8 minutes and told me to have a good day. To seal the deal the visit was $400 which I was not talked to about. I understand any kind of medical procedure is expensive but a warning or estimate would've been nice. In the end the only person who was semi nice was the lady at the front desk who checked me out. She apologized to me when she realized that I wasnt made aware of the consultation price.

First I have to apologize to these guys: i found out my driver was on a really important time crunch and didnt know if he could stay so i kind of let my frustration out on the staff over the phone (I apologize to the unfortunate person who had to deal with me). Person on the other end proved to be completely professional and courteous while I definitely was not at the time. wisdom teeth removal procedure was insanely quick/efficient: overall definitely one of the best dentists I've been to all around: thank you so much for everything and again i apologize for being out of sorts.

My son is 2 years old and tongue-tie and It was extremely difficult to find anyone that was willing to do a frenectomy at his age. We were feeling hopeless until we were referred to Dr Jugan. After our consultation he agreed to do the procedure and was very confident on the outcome. He was personable and had very good bedside manners. The entire staff was great from the front desk to the nursing staff. Very friendly and welcoming. We also had an emergency after hour call at 4am and he was available and did a follow up call the next day to make sure my son was okay. Overall we were extremely happy with the entire experience.

My deaf and blind son had to get his wisdom teeth extracted. I remember when I had my teeth take our some 45 years ago, it took the doctor four hours. I also have claustrophobia of hospitals and doctor's offices. However, when I took my son, the staff was extremely nice. The atmosphere was inviting and homey. The doctor was extremely personable, as well as friendly. When my son went in he liked the doctor and staff, and when he came out, it had been like only a half and hour. I was impressed by the speed of the work. Moreover, as the anesthesia wore off, (which my son was not use to having), there was no pain. He did not have to take narcotics to dull his senses, and I am officially impressed. The next day, my son, was hungry, and began to eat solid food again, like the man he is today. I am sure if anyone is looking for a good doctor, I can tell you from my own experiences of them, this one was worthy of his time and money.

I had my wisdom teeth taken out and was really nervous about it but one of the workers named Rosa is really nice and was saying that I don't have anything to be worried about and answered all the questions I had and the rest of the staff are sweet and caring as well.

Dr. Jugan did an excellent job with my grandson, who is challenging to work on. He has trouble sitting still and is a nonstop talker especially when he is nervous. My grandson had a wonderful experience at Desert Maxillofacial Center and now is not afraid to go back when he needs his wisdom teeth extracted.

I showed up in Dr. Milan Jugans office after having a root canal re treatment and a bad infection. I wasn't getting any answers at the 3 previous dental offices and had the infection for many months. My frustration came to an end when I found his office.The staff is professional, skilled and caring. Dr. Jugan is, in my opinion, the very best at what he does. He is honest, skilled, professional, caring and painless. I trust him and he will always be my choice for dental implants and oral surgery. Thank you to Dr. Jugan and his great staff! If I could give more than 5 stars I would.Highly recommended. I contemplated getting my wisdom teeth removed due to anxiety, but needed them out asap due to a bad infection.Very grateful that I found this place. Visited a few other places for oral surgery but they didn't give me a good vibe. During the consultation @ this place, I felt comfortable knowing the procedure was going to go well and it went above and beyond my expectations . The procedure was painless . Was a little sore for two days with no excruciating pain and I'm healing nicely on day 3 ! ( some pain is of course expected with teeth extraction and the pain was better than I thought it would be) A huge thank you to dr. Jugan and his staff. I seriously appreciate it .

I loved my experience at Dr. Jugan's office. I was very over due to get my wisdom teeth removed, from start to finish everyone was more than helpful in my experience. Dr. Jugan was very helpful in consult, I had no bruising and he did an excellent job with anesthesia as that was one of my main concerns. I am almost sad that Dr. Jugan could not provide me with more services! The office staff is accommodating and welcoming and very helpful when working with insurance. I will definitely recommend this office to family and friends and if need be, would return.
